    CUT TO-INT.- FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT- AFTERNOON

    ALAN and SAM sit at the table, facing each other.

    ALAN: So...

    SAM: Yeah?

    ALAN: I think we should talk about what happened...

    SAM looks down at her feet.

    SAM: Oh...that.

    There is a long silence.

    ALAN: Why'd you do that?

    SAM: I already told you...

    ALAN sighs.

    ALAN: I know. Everything was going wrong. (pause) But it wasn't worth killing yourself, Samantha.

    SAM continues to look down at her feet.

    SAM: I know...it just felt like that, at the time...

    ALAN puts his hand on hers.

    ALAN: Nothing's worth killing yourself.

    SAM sighs.


    CUT TO-INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT- MARIE'S ROOM- AFTERNOON

    MARIE sits on her bed, reading a book. She then stretches her arms and gets up. She walks over to her door, and then into the kitchen. She sees SAM and ALAN sitting at the table.

    MARIE: Hey guys.

    SAM and ALAN nod towards her to acknowledge her. MARIE starts to walk towards the door, and SAM gets out of her seat.

    SAM: Where are ya headed?

    MARIE: Just...out.

    SAM: Want me to come with?

    MARIE shakes her head.

    MARIE: No, I'll go by myself.

    With that, she walks out the door.


    CUT TO-INT. ? MALL ? AFTERNOON

    MARIE walks through the crowd of people rushing at her. She looks in several different stores. Suddenly, she hears a voice.

    VOICE: Maaaaaarriieeee....

    MARIE turns her head.

    MARIE: Who's there?

    People around her give her strange looks.

    VOICE: I know what you did.

    MARIE looks around, pushing people out of the way.

    VOICE: And you will pay.

    MARIE runs towards the exit. The camera pans up to MELODY in the shadows. She smirks.


    FADE TO BLACK

    INT.- FATH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT- LIVING ROOM- AFTERNOON

    FAITH, ROBIN, and ALAN sit on the couch.

    ROBIN: Wow.

    There is silence.

    FAITH: I go on patrol, and come back to...this mess.

    ALAN: It's not a mess.

    FAITH raises an eyebrow.

    ALAN: (cont'd) It's a problem. A serious one at that.

    FAITH: No, it's all just perfect.

    She rolls her eyes.

    ALAN: I don't want sarcasm, Faith.

    FAITH: Alright then, Giles.

    ALAN: (angrily) Shut your mouth.

    FAITH sits back in the couch.

    FAITH: Fine.

    She puts her feet up on the table.

    FAITH: (cont'd) Just remember who's in charge here.

    ALAN: I will. I'll also remember who shouldn't be.

    He glares at her. FAITH stands up.

    FAITH: Now wait just a-

    ROBIN puts a hand on her shoulder.

    ROBIN: Calm down, Faith.

    She sighs and sits back down. ROBIN turns to ALAN.

    ROBIN: (cont'd) You were saying?

    ALAN: Yeah. I was wondering...what are we going to do about it?

    SAM: (O/S) Do about what?

    ALAN, FAITH, and ROBIN turn to SAM.

    ALAN: Um...

    FAITH: The voice in Brian's head.

    Everyone else looks confused.

    SAM: The what in who's where?

    FAITH looks around the room.

    FAITH: C'mon guys, we were just talking about this.

    ALAN and ROBIN both nod and act as if they know what FAITH'S talking about.

    ALAN: R-right. The voice...in Brian's head...that we were talking about.

    FAITH: Yeah. What should we do about that?

    ROBIN: Research?

    FAITH: Sounds good!

    She gets up. ROBIN raises an eyebrow.

    ROBIN: You're going to research?

    She grins through her teeth.

    FAITH: What can I say...just call me book gal...

    ROBIN looks confused.

    FAITH: (cont'd, sternly) Let's. Go.

    ROBIN gets up and heads towards the door.

    ROBIN: Right then.

    He opens the door, and they head out. SAM watches them leave.

    SAM: Okay.

    She turns to ALAN.

    SAM: (cont'd) Now that was just plain strange.


    CUT TO-INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT- LATE AFTERNOON

    MARIE walks through the door. She puts her coat up on the coat rack.

    MARIE: (loudly) I'm home!

    There's silence.

    MARIE: (cont'd) Anyone here?

    There is a noise coming from the hallway. MARIE walks toward it, and stops at BRIAN'S door. She opens the door. BRIAN is standing at the window and looking out it.

    BRIAN: Who is it.

    MARIE: It's m-me. Marie.

    BRIAN: Oh, hi.

    MARIE: So...what's going on?

    BRIAN: With what?

    MARIE: Your powers...

    BRIAN: My empathy? Most of it's gone.

    There's a pause.

    MARIE: W-what about your visions?

    BRIAN looks deep in thought.

    BRIAN: I...I don't know. I just stopped having them...

    MARIE: Want me to look it u-

    BRIAN: No. I will.

    MARIE: Fine then. I've got other things to do anyways.

    She walks out of the room and closes the door. She walks over to the coat rack and grabs her coat once again.

    MARIE: (muttering to herself) I'm sure that I can think of something to do.

    She walks out the door. She goes to go down the stairs, and MELODY appears in front of her.

    CUT TO- EXT. -SUNNYDALE HIGH

    The colors on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static. The camera pans around showing the old SUNNYDALE HIGH, pre-Ascension. The sun is shining down on all the studious peers chattering and laughing at the fact it's a Friday and there's a whole weekend ahead of them for them to enjoy, and divulge in whatever delights may come their way. The camera cuts to one of the arched outside corridors. A slightly younger CATE and MELODY are walking down the corridor. They are both wearing fashionable and expensive clothes. CATE is walking with a lot of confidence, MELODY is sipping on a coffee.

    MELODY: Urgh, you know this coffee tastes like crap.

    CATE: You're so ridiculous, if Snyder sees you with that he'll chuck it at some Junior like last time.

    MELODY laughs, and sighs happily at the thought.

    MELODY: That poor guy, lucky I was drinking a Frappuccino, otherwise he'd have screwed.

    CATE: Meh, you did him a favour, since when did a polo shirt become like legal to wear under a suit.

    They both cringe at the thought of this. They continue walking for a while, before a huge grin appears on MELODY'S face.

    MELODY: Speaking of what not to wear and who not to know.

    She nods her head in the direction of a bench they are about to pass. A younger looking CHARLIE is sitting on the bench by herself. She's writing in some sort of journal. She's wearing not very fashionable clothes, and they don't look very expensive. MELODY laughs.

    MELODY: Hey Charlie!

    CHARLIE looks up. She doesn't look happy, and she looks like she's used to the taunts.

    CHARLIE: (quietly) What?

    MELODY: We were just discussing throwing coffee on people, especially those with more than pitiful outfits, would you be willing to do your part for the community? And fashion-kind?

    MELODY laughs. CHARLIE looks up at CATE who is looking nervous. CATE looks away, then she grabs MELODY'S arm.

    CATE: Hey, girl. They're here!

    She points over at the courtyard, then runs off into the courtyard. MELODY looks up, and smiles. She looks back at CHARLIE and leans in, so she's right in her face.

    MELODY: (smirking) You and your charity shop knock off got off easy, for today.

    She pours her coffee over CHARLIE'S diary, then makes a shocked noise. CHARLIE's mouth opens in pure horror at what she's just done.

    MELODY: But then again, I'm just really into helping the community.

    She smirks and walks off. CHARLIE looks down at her diary, the ink is mixing with the coffee which is beginning to mix with CHARLIE'S tears. She looks up.

    CHARLIE: (whispering to herself) Goddess, please make it stop?

    The camera cuts to the courtyard and MELODY moving towards where CATE has gone to. There are three girls standing together, and CATE and MELODY walk up to them. Two of the girls turn around, and upon seeing MELODY and CATE scream in glee. They air kiss one another's cheeks and scream happily. CATE turns to the last girl who has turned to face them both. She's not looking quite as happy as the other two but none the less pleased to be there. CATE folds her arms upon seeing her.

    CATE: Hey Marie?

    It's MARIE. She has brownish blonde hair and is around the same height as CATE. MARIE and CATE look at one another for a while, eventually MARIE rolls her eyes and air kisses her like the other two. MELODY upon seeing this, turns to one of the other girls.

    MELODY: So Bree, I hear your "papa" bought you a Shelby?

    One of the two girls, BREE rolls her eyes at this. She is a brunette with an sense of sophistication surrounding her good looks. She also has a slight french accent, and her father is fairly wealthy.

    BREE: Urgh, do nat even get me ztarted Mehlody. It handles like some clapped old widow, it is no Panhard.

    MELODY: A Panhard? (she sighs) Girl, your father has some class, roll with it, or better yet, roll in it.

    CATE laughs. The other girl looks immensely confused by the whole conversation. Her name is SKYE. She is blonde?peroxide blonde. She clearly has no brain cells to rub together to create some vague spark of a thought. She puts CATE'S mannerisms to shame.

    SKYE: Panhard? Is that some sort of cheese?

    The others look at her, CATE and BREE snigger slightly. MARIE doesn't laugh, she looks slightly understanding at SKYE.

    MARIE: It's a car Skye.

    MELODY looks annoyed slightly that MARIE has stood up for SKYE.

    MELODY: So Marie, what did you say you drove?

    MARIE looks down.

    MARIE: I d-didn't say?

    CATE: Melody kneel?now girls we have to do something tomorrow night. It's Saturday night, it's Clique night!

    MELODY, BREE and SKYE smile, and MARIE gives a nervous smile also.

    BREE: Zat it iz Cate!

    SKYE: But like what? ?Cause Bored-elia and her pals always hang at The Bronze?

    MELODY: (scoffs) Urgh please, since she's been with that Xan-dork guy, she's not even worth a look in. The Clique own this school, the school just don't know it.

    The girls smile and click their fingers in unison. MARIE does it, but is slightly out.

    CATE: Well I was thinking we could invite the boys and like party at the warehouse?

    SKYE claps excitedly at this prospect. MELODY'S mouth falls open at this.

    MELODY: You total whore, you've been holding out on us all week!

    She playfully hits CATE. CATE looks at MELODY and then turns to BREE and SKYE.

    CATE: So?

    BREE: I zpose I am in!

    SKYE: Way!

    CATE turns finally to MARIE. Behind MARIE walks JOSEPH. He casually looks at MARIE but when he sees she is hanging with The Clique, he turns his head forward and carries on walking. CATE notices him.

    CATE: Marie?

    MARIE: Yeah?

    CATE: You in?

    MARIE sees JOSEPH walk past now, and looks at CATE, smirking with a bitchy expression.

    MARIE: So in.

    CATE notices her watching JOSEPH. CATE looks at MELODY who has also noticed, and then turns back and smirks nastily at MARIE.

    CATE: You could invite your boyfriend if you want?

    BREE and SKYE look at one another.

    MARIE: He's not my boyfriend.

    CATE gives an "oh really" look to her. BREE moves over to MARIE and links arms with her. BREE looks at CATE.

    BREE: Ok, now it iz you oo must heel Cate. (looking at SKYE) Come on.

    SKYE moves and links with MARIE'S other arm and the three of them walk off talking. MELODY turns to CATE.

    MELODY: She's a crafty one that Marie, (nods in agreement with herself then turns to face CATE). So anyway, I'll call you later and we'll talk all about tomorrow and these "boys" who I am loving with every dirty spasm that goes through my brain.

    She backs away and winks at CATE before leaving.

    MELODY: Can't wait girl!

    The camera watches her walk away over CATE'S shoulder. The camera moves around to the front of CATE'S face. Her eyes are glazed over, powerfully white. She smiles.

    CATE: Me either?


    CUT TO- INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- HALLWAY- LATE AFTERNOON

    MARIE looks shocked. MELODY smirks, and then tilts her head and pouts.

    MELODY: What? No hug?

    FADE TO BLACK

      ACT II

      INT. ? LIBRARY- LATE AFTERNOON

      BRIAN walks through the door and over to the main desk. He taps his fingers on the desk. The LIBRARIAN looks annoyed.

      LIBRARIAN: Can I help you?

      BRIAN: Oh, yes...where are your books on empathy?

      The LIBRARIAN pulls out a map that shows two floors. She points to a room on the second floor.

      LIBRARIAN: They're located there. You get there by-

      She goes to look back up at him, and sees that he's gone.

      LIBRARIAN: (cont'd) Okay, I guess you know...


      CUT TO-INT. ? LIBRARY- SECOND FLOOR- LATE AFTERNOON

      BRIAN walks up the stairs and over to a stack of books marked 12. He searches until he finds the right book titled "Empathy: Once More, With Feelings" and grabs it from the shelf. He then walks over to an empty table. He sits down and opens the book to the index.

      BRIAN: (V/O) Empathy is the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner.

      He sighs.

      BRIAN: (V/O) In other words, it's being overemotional...like Faith said.

      He slams the book closed.

      BRIAN: Why am I thinking like Faith?

      A librarian comes around the corner and shushes him.

      BRIAN: (cont'd) Fine. I'm leaving now, anyways.

      He gets up from his chair and walks down the stairs and out the door.


      CUT TO- INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- HALLWAY- LATE AFTERNOON

      MELODY walks in a circle around MARIE.

      MELODY: Huh. You haven't changed much.

      MARIE gulps.

      MARIE: You're?you're?

      MELODY: C'mon, you're not happy to see me?

      MARIE: Not really.

      MELODY frowns.

      MELODY: Well then...huh. I thought you would.

      She shrugs.

      MARIE: Why would I be happy to see you?

      MELODY: No, no, dear...the question is: Why wouldn't you.

      MARIE: Because you're a selfish bitch?

      MELODY puts a hand over her heart.

      MELODY: Ouch...that really...tickles.

      She laughs.

      MELODY: (cont'd) C'mon, Mar...you're gonna have to do better than that.



      CUT TO- EXT. -SUNNYDALE HIGH

      The colors on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static. BREE, SKYE, and MARIE are all sitting on a bench and watching CATE and MELODY leave. MARIE sighs.

      BREE: Zey are complete beeches.

      SKYE looks around.

      SKYE: There's a beach? Where?

      BREE and MARIE look at each other and roll their eyes.

      MARIE: I know they are.

      SKYE just looks confused.

      MARIE: (cont'd) They're so full of themselves, and lately, the Clique's been all about them.

      SKYE sighs.

      SKYE: Well, they are the leaders.

      BREE: I zought zat ze Clique deedn't have leaders.

      SKYE shrugs.

      MARIE: Well, I don't think it's fair.

      BREE and SKYE nod their heads in agreement. SKYE gets up from where they're sitting. MARIE turns around.

      MARIE: Where are you going?

      SKYE: To get a towel, silly!

      BREE furrows her eyebrows.

      MARIE: Right. Beach...

      SKYE nods and walks off cheerily.

      BREE: Zer is something wrong with zat girl.

      MARIE nods.


      CUT TO- INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- HALLWAY- LATE AFTERNOON

      MARIE starts to walk down the stairs. MELODY is still at the top.

      MELODY: (yelling) Hey! D'ya remember...whathisface...oh, right! Joseph?

      MARIE stops dead in her tracks, and swivels around.


      CUT TO-EXT. ? SUNNYDALE HIGH SCHOOL

      The colors on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static. CATE and MELODY drive into the parking lot, and get out of the car. There are shopping bags in CATE'S car. They walk over to BREE and MARIE.

      MELODY: Hey, where's the post?

      BREE and MARIE stare blankly at her. CATE rolls her eyes.

      CATE: She means Skye.

      MARIE and BREE look at each other trying to hold back a laugh.

      BREE: She ees getteeng a towel.

      This time, CATE and MELODY are the ones with blank faces.

      MARIE: You know...

      BREE: For the beech.

      They giggle.

      MELODY: Ooookay then.

      CATE: (cont'd) Ooooh, look. It's Marie's boyfriend.

      MARIE glares at CATE.

      MARIE: He is not my boyfriend.

      MELODY smirks.

      MELODY: Well...we could always...

      She starts to walk toward MARIE.

      MELODY: (cont'd) Find out if he likes you.

      MELODY pushes MARIE off the bench, making her stand up.

      MARIE: Hey!

      CATE laughs.

      CATE: That we should...

      She walks over to MARIE and puts her arm around her shoulder.

      MARIE: What are you doing?

      CATE: I'm being the friend that I am.

      She smiles and pushes MARIE lightly towards JOSEPH. MARIE looks at the ground and mutters to herself.

      MARIE: As if you're a friend.

      Suddenly, MARIE is knocked to the side by someone. The camera pans up to JOSEPH. MARIE widens her eyes and looks down and away.

      MARIE: I...I'm sorry.

      JOSEPH: No, it was my fault.

      MARIE looks at CATE. CATE gives her a "Well..." look.

      MARIE: Um...I was wondering...

      JOSEPH: What?

      MARIE: Uh...

      JOSEPH: I like you too.

      MARIE looks up at him and widens her eyes again.

      MARIE: How did you...

      JOSEPH: Kinda not hard to tell.

      MARIE smiles and looks back to CATE. She mouths "Thank you."

      CUT TO-INT. ? SHOPPING MALL- AFTERNOON

      The colors on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static.

      MARIE: I've gotta go to the bathroom.

      SAM nods. MARIE gets up and heads to the restroom. Before entering, she hears a deep voice behind her.

      PERSON: Marie.

      Close-up on MARIE'S face. Her eyes widen.

      MARIE: Leave me alone.

      The camera cuts over to the person, and we see that they are a man.

      MAN: Now, why would I want to do that?

      MARIE: Leave me the hell alone, Joseph.

      JOSEPH: No. You see, I have a bone to pick with you.

      MARIE: No. You see?I don't care.

      She grins and then glares at him. The camera cuts over to him, and we see his skin begin to sizzle.

      JOSEPH: You bitch!!

      He slowly catches on fire and turns to ash. She looks down at the pile, and frowns. She smiles again.

      MARIE: Buh-bye now, sweetie.


      CUT TO- INT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- HALLWAY- LATE AFTERNOON

      MELODY raises an eyebrow.

      MELODY: Well?

      MARIE sighs and nods.

      MARIE: I remember him...a little.

      FADE TO BLACK

      END OF ACT II

        ACT III

        CUT TO- PARK- EVENING

        SAM and ALAN walk on the sidewalk, side by side. ALAN has his arms crossed over his chest.

        SAM: So...

        ALAN: Mhmm.

        SAM: That doesn't really help.

        ALAN turns to her.

        ALAN: Well, I don't know what to say. You lied to us. But after what happened...I just don't know what to do.

        SAM looks at her feet.

        SAM: I shouldn't have done that...I was just being a whiny brat...like always. Trying to get attention that I don't deserve.

        ALAN: Sam, you deserve attention. But you shouldn't have lied.

        SAM: It was the only way to get here.

        ALAN: Never heard of a bus?

        SAM: Have you heard of a thing called money? That of which I don't have?

        ALAN sighs.

        ALAN: Oh.

        SAM: So, yeah. This was the only way. You don't want to forgive me, fine. I'll go home.

        She starts to walk in the other direction. ALAN grabs her shoulder.

        ALAN: No, we're going to talk about this.

        SAM: Okay.

        They continue to walk.

        ALAN: Well, I don't know if it's going to work...but I'm still interested in going out with you...only if you promise not to lie about things like that.

        SAM looks up.

        SAM: I could try.


        CUT TO-INT. ? WAREHOUSE- EVENING

        BISHOP picks up a sword from a table in the middle of the room. He looks at it and runs his hand along the side of it before putting it into a holder. HECTOR appears from the shadows.

        HECTOR: You know what you must do.

        BISHOP nods.

        BISHOP: Of course.

        He turns around and walks swiftly to the door, and slams it as he walks out.


        CUT TO- CEMETERY- EVENING

        FAITH and ROBIN walk through the park. FAITH flips an oncoming vampire onto the ground. As it tries to get up, she pulls out a battleaxe and slices it's head off. ROBIN flinches.

        FAITH: Weak stomach?

        ROBIN shakes his head.

        ROBIN: No, not really. Just...that was quick.

        FAITH: What can I say, I'm fast.

        ROBIN: I know.

        They continue to walk through the cemetery. The camera pulls out and we see BISHOP walking through the woods just a little behind FAITH. He's walking slowly and carefully, so that FAITH can not hear him.


        CUT TO-EXT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- EVENING

        MARIE runs out of the building and slams the door closed behind her. She leans against that side of a building and breathes out. The camera pulls out to show MELODY filing her nails beside MARIE. She turns to her.

        MELODY: Sorry, sweetie. You can't get rid of me that easily.

        MARIE widens her eyes and looks at MELODY.

        MARIE: How did you...?

        MELODY: I have my ways.

        There is a pause, and then MELODY tilts her head to the side.

        MELODY: Say, why weren't you at the big bash?


        CUT TO-INT. ? MARIE'S HOUSE- SUNNYDALE- EVENING

        The colors on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static. MARIE picks up her phone which is on the end table next to her bed, and then dials CATE'S number. It rings four times, and then CATE picks up.

        CATE: Hey chica.

        MARIE: Hey Cate. Listen...

        CATE: Mar, I am listening. It's what I do when I have the receiver to my ear. What do you want?

        MARIE: Well...I'm gonna be a b-bit late?

        CATE goes silent for a minute

        CATE: (sharply) Just be there?

        CUT TO-EXT. ? LIBRARY- EVENING

        Still in flashback format. MARIE walks out of the library, she knows she's late. She walks toward the alley where the Clique is meeting that night. A sense of urgency resides in her steps. Someone steps in front of her. The camera pans up to JOSEPH. MARIE smiles.

        MARIE: Hey there.

        JOSEPH: Hey. Whatchya doing?

        MARIE: About to head to the Clique meeting...

        She tries to step around him, but then he steps in front of her.

        JOSEPH: Or...

        He puts his arm around her shoulder,

        JOSEPH: (cont'd) You could come with me...

        MARIE sighs.

        MARIE: As tempting as that sounds, I have responsibilities...well, parties...whatever. I've gotta go.

        She starts to walk towards the meeting area.

        JOSEPH: Marie!

        She swivels around.

        JOSEPH: (cont'd) You may not want to go there.

        MARIE takes a small step toward him and crosses her arms over her chest.

        MARIE: Why not?

        JOSEPH: I've just got a bad feeling about it.

        MARIE walks over to him and hugs him. She gives him a kiss on the cheek.

        MARIE: Everything'll be okay.

        JOSEPH smiles weakly. They share a kiss, and then MARIE pulls away.

        MARIE: (cont'd) I've seriously got to go now. Bye.

        JOSEPH looks disappointed.

        JOSEPH: Bye.

        MARIE walks toward the meeting place, and JOSEPH walks towards his car. After a few moments, he turns around.

        JOSEPH: (whispering) God help you.

        He then gets in his car and drives off.

        FADE TO BLACK

          ACT IV

          CUT TO-EXT. - CEMETERY- EVENING

          FAITH and ROBIN walk out of the gates of the cemetery. ROBIN closes the gate behind them. Suddenly, a rustle is heard in the woods. We pan up to BISHOP, standing completely still now that he's made noise. FAITH looks in his direction. BISHOP holds his breath.

          ROBIN: What is-

          FAITH: Sh...

          She walks over to the woods, and slowly starts to make her way through them. She is about to reveal BISHOP looking at her through them, when a squirrel runs out and across the street, then up a tree. FAITH turns towards ROBIN.

          FAITH: It was just a damn rodent.

          ROBIN: What else would it be?

          FAITH: Covert ops? Police men? Some crazy stalker guy?

          ROBIN raises an eyebrow. FAITH shrugs.

          FAITH: (cont'd) Just being careful. That's all.

          FAITH walks out of the cemetery, as does ROBIN. BISHOP lets out a breath as he watches then leave.

          BISHOP: (muttering) That was close.


          CUT TO- EXT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- EVENING

          MELODY: Do you even know what happened that night?

          MELODY glares at MARIE.

          MARIE: I do...


          CUT TO-EXT. ? ALLEY- EVENING

          The colours on the screen are blurred, as is the whole image, it looks static. It is dusk and the natural wash of the moon is battling with the light from the fading sun. The light is drifting through the alleyways of the town. The camera cuts to MELODY, BREE and SKYE walking down the alleyway.

          SKYE: You know, it took like forever to find this dress, Bree and Marie helped me pick it out in the end. (thinking) Huh, Bree and Marie, that rhymes!

          She looks happily at BREE who is looking disgusted at their surroundings and MELODY rolls her eyes.

          MELODY: Wow, you're advanced Skye, (looking at BREE), you know I don't care what they say, Sesame Street does help the brain.

          BREE gives a small smile, and SKYE just looks confused. MELODY looks around.

          MELODY: So where is Little Miss S-s-s-s-tutter anyway?

          BREE: She zed should woold be ere, but I do nat know.

          SKYE: Melody why are you always riding her anyways?

          MELODY: I don't like her, she's all broody and mysterious. I hate her kind, she's not?

          BREE: ?thick?

          MELODY: (nodding) That must be it. Now come on, we're here.

          They stop at a large metallic sliding door and she puts her hand on the handle of the door. She turns to look at BREE and SKYE, smiling.

          MELODY: Ok girls, ready?

          BREE fixes her hair pulls her top down slightly to reveal her cleavage.

          BREE: Reddy Mehlody!

          SKYE flicks her hair.

          SKYE: Duh, I'm always ready.

          MELODY: (smiling) Ok girls?

          She slides the door open.

          SCENE FOUR: INT. WAREHOUSE

          The room is slightly dark, the camera is looking inside out at the girls, all smiling and fluttering their eyelashes.

          MELODY: ?time to?party?

          She looks at BREE and SKYE and they all look slightly lost.

          BREE: Iz this thee riyte playce?

          They walk in, MELODY looks around.

          MELODY: This is where Cate said?

          The three of them look around. The warehouse has no decorations, no beverages, no sound system to play music and certainly no boys. They knew that with the lack of these, it was no party.

          SKYE: Well maybe it's like a surprise or something?

          VOICE (O/S): Quite right Skye.

          MELODY, BREE and SKYE all turn to one direction. Under one of the balconies in the warehouse there is a figure standing there, but as the figure is standing in the shadows, they can't see who it is. The voice however, is female.

          MELODY: Hey, are you here for the party?

          VOICE: Something like that?

          The person moves out of the shadows. It's CATE. Her eyes are glazed over. She's carrying an elegant green handbag and dressed in a long green dress.

          BREE: Oh Cate, yoo look fantastique!

          SKYE: No fair, you look pretty.

          MELODY has ignored their praises and is squinting in the darkness at CATE.

          MELODY: Girl did you get contacts or something?

          CATE moves closer to them.

          CATE: Not quite. It has come to my attention girls that I'm neglecting my line of duty.

          SKYE turns to BREE.

          SKYE: Did she just use a three-syllable word?

          MELODY rolls her eyes quickly at SKYE before turning back to CATE.

          MELODY: What do you mean line of duty?

          CATE moves closer to the three of them.

          CATE: (smirking) It's time to eradicate the problem.

          She snaps round to BREE. She flips through the air and lands behind BREE quickly. She grabs the side of BREE'S head. She leans in so her mouth is by BREE'S ear.

          CATE: (whispering) Au revoir?

          She snaps BREE'S neck and her whole body goes limp and falls to the floor. MELODY and SKYE scream and MELODY runs to the other side of the room and goes and hides under the table. Ironically, and smartly, SKYE goes to run to the door of the warehouse, CATE grabs her however, stopping her in her tracks. SKYE whimpers as CATE holds her by her hair.

          CATE: Hmm, which way do you want to die?

          SKYE: No way?please Cate, I don't understand, stop?

          CATE: Really can't.

          She looks and sees a pole sticking out of the wall on the left side of the room. She throws SKYE who screams as she flies through the air. Her scream stops instantly as her chest impacts with the pole protruding from the wall. Her body hangs impaled on the wall. The camera closes in on her twitching foot and then cuts to MELODY who screams again. She's crying now, seeing two of her friend's murdered. She covers her mouth with her hands as she sees CATE'S feet from under the table wandering towards her. When CATE gets to the table, her hand brutally reaches under and grabs MELODY'S red locks and pulls her to her feet.

          MELODY: (crying) Please?no, no.

          CATE: You, you cruel hearted bitch.

          MELODY: I didn't do anything to you.

          CATE: Not me?

          She opens her hand bag and pulls out an ancient looking knife. There are various carvings on it. She looks MELODY in the eyes, meeting her look of fear with a look of resentment. Without a moments hesitation she thrusts the knife into MELODY'S stomach. MELODY collapses to the floor, blood seeping from her stomach.

          VOICE: (V/O) Oh god!

          CATE snaps round, her hands covered in MELODY'S blood. MARIE is standing at the door of the warehouse. CATE glares at her angrily and walks towards her. As she does this, she puts the knife back into her handbag.

          She stops opposite MARIE. They look at one another for a while.

          CATE: (looking her up and down) You're not worth killing, you're not in my way. Melody was right, you were never one of The Clique. Lucky for you Kaloff?

          MARIE: Why? They were your friends?

          CATE: Girls like those are not friends, they are distractions. You should leave town. If I see you again, I will consider you a distraction?understand?

          MARIE nods. CATE smirks and leaves the warehouse. MARIE watches her leave and then walks into the warehouse itself looking at the bodies of BREE, then SKYE and finally MELODY. She cries.

          MARIE: I'm sorry?

          She holds up her hands at the bodies and all three of the girls' corpses instantly combust into flames and burn away to nothing. No sign of their existence.

          She puts a hand to her mouth upset and she walks towards the warehouse door.


          CUT TO- EXT. ? FAITH AND ROBIN'S APARTMENT BUILDING- EVENING

          MARIE: You're dead.

          MELODY: I came here to warn you?about what's coming.

          MARIE: What is it?

          MELODY: The dark ones.

          MARIE: Who the hell are they?


          CUT TO-EXT. ? APARTMENT BUILDINGS

          FAITH and ROBIN walk down the sidewalk and toward their apartment building. When they get closer to it, they see MARIE standing, talking to MELODY. They stop. FAITH turns to MARIE.

          FAITH: Hey there Slayah. Who's your friend?

          She looks at MELODY.

          MARIE: She is not my friend.

          There's a silence.

          MARIE: (cont'd) She's dead.

          FAITH tries to touch MELODY'S shoulder, but her hand goes right through it.

          FAITH: The First?

          MELODY smirks.

          MELODY: No?see, these people? Can hurt you by themselves. No lackeys needed.

          She vanishes, leaving everyone confused.


          CUT TO-EXT. ?ALAN'S DORM ROOM

          SAM: So?

          ALAN: Yeah?

          SAM: Fresh start.

          ALAN smiles.

          ALAN: Sounds good.

          FADE TO BLACK

          END OF EPISODE
