Thanks very much Skinless! Glad you are enjoying the episodes
On a general note, the remaining episodes will all be posted soon, I'm sorry about the wait, I've just been very busy at uni. I should have more free time soon.
And Buffy Season 9 and Angel Season 6 are finally all posted. Sorry that it took so long, but I hope everyone enjoys them, and if you do, please feedback!
Hey Alex. I read both 1.1 and 1.2 of Haven, but I'm just gonna feedback 1.2. Spoiler tags, ahoy!
1.2A Little Less Than Five Star
Spoiler:
Before I get straight to the episode, let me just say that the idea is so original and creative, I love it. It's so different than all of the other series on BF...partly because it has nothing to do with Buffy or Angel.
You rock for using Feel Good. :P The song is a fun one, I tell you.
I feel really bad for Tegan. All she was trying to do was her job, and it ruined her relationship. Though working at a general store for those hours gave..David, I think his name is?...the right to be suspicious, I still am sad for Tegan. It makes me wonder what happened with some of the other workers and their relationship with family/friends/lovers, etc.
I like Gael/Grace. I have a feeling it's going to become or already is just some temporary thing. Oh and at first I thought Jacob was some guy that Gael loved. But I guess it's really his father and I was wrong.
I also liked that whole criminals bonding thing (RE: Carla & Devyn). It shows that even though this is a home of criminals, they're people too, and it could be a helpful experience for them.
Ooh crime within Haven. That's interesting. Poor Devyn...kinda. I know he's a conman and all but still. I'm sure we'll learn more about his cons. I can't wait to. Rebecca's dead and they put her in a freezer...that's...creepy. The whole freezer idea is creepy. Is there a reason why they're keeping the bodies of people killed in there? I'm guessing it's just to protect Haven because if they went and buried them in a cemetery, it would give the whole establishment away...
I really enjoyed both this episode and the last one. Great job.

Thanks! I definitely wanted the series to be something unusual so I'm glad it came across that way.

Hehe, I have plans for many songs so I hope you like the next few as much

I wanted to show how the job kinda dominates the employees lives and Tegan is the first on-screen casualty of that. You're right to wonder about the others, more shall be revealed as we progress

Gael/Grace is really a friendship with added bonuses You can probably tell it's not going to last forever, but you'll see how they both develop. Glad that the Jacob thing was a surprise, I deliberately wanted to mislead on that one.
I also liked that whole criminals bonding thing (RE: Carla & Devyn). It shows that even though this is a home of criminals, they're people too, and it could be a helpful experience for them.
Yeah that's kinda the point of the series really, Haven is a place for self-analysis and reflection as well as a hideout, and the main point is that villains can also be heroes and visa versa, so glad that's coming across

Indeed a lot more to come with Devyn; episode 3 in fact. As for the freezer, well more about that will be revealed soon, but you have the gist of it. It would be too risky to dispose of the bodies there and then.
Seriously Alex, congratulations. This is probably one of the most original series I have seen on this forum and in my personal opinion is surpasses a lot of the crap we see on television nowadays.
I love the plot and the whole premise of the series; it's one of those series that can produce amazing stand alone episodes while still driving the plot forwards, which can be difficult to do but you seem to do it so effortlessly. I cannot WAIT to see how the whole Haven/Amythest (is that how it's spelt?) plays out and I think Season 1 is gonna have one helluva ending!
I keep changing my mind on my favourite character. Originally it was Tegan because of how similar she is to my Cate, but you've made her so original and she has good drive as a person as well as a character. At the moment though I'm loving the dynamics between Grace and Gael and their antics. (Sidenote: The FRUIT... It's just CLASS).
I'm hoping to see some more romance blossom for the characters and I still have high hopes for Jevyn. I also hope to see more amazing stand alone episodes such as 1.7s amazing couple (YAY JULIAN AND CHARISSSSMA), as well as finding out more about the staff's pasts. I'm most curious to find out Grace's past but I feel Juliet's will be the shocker...
All in all it is one of the best things to read on this forum and to all those people reading this and you haven't read any of Haven yet... YOU SHOULD!
Thank you Lex! I'm so glad you're enjoying Haven, I wasn't too certain about writing a series that was completely new, but I'm glad it seems to be working!
Grace and Gael are probably my favourite characters to write for, so I'm glad you like them and their fruit Grace's story won't be until 1.11 but Gael's is just coming up for 1.8! As for Juliet's...well that won't be for a while, near the end of the season And yes, it will be very important!
Romance is definitely afoot...in fact two characters sleep together in the next episode...
Thanks for your feedback kjurd15! I am not sure when Angel Season 7 will be written because I am focusing on Haven right now, though I will possibly try and write it alongside Haven Season 2 (though that won't be for a while). Anyway I hope you continue to enjoy Season 1 as it progresses
Yes noob speak. Noob speak because vocabulary fails me on this occasion.
WHAT AN EPISODE!
FINALLY, we know what's going on with Aura and Mark and I was unsure of whether they were against Haven or with them before this episode and it's clear that they're indifferent. However, I have faith that they will remain loyal to the Haveners and well random WOMAN was shot dead by Aura so that's a good sign that my prediction may come true. Unless of course, Aura is a crap shooter and shot the wrong person. Aura = Doh.
The Response are particularly interesting group of people. Valoro (by the way, what a name!), seems similar to the military dude in Lost but just a bit more twisted. I can't quite decide what to make of their alignment; they're on side with Haven but pissed off that Haven aren't doing anything to fight back? Doesn't this make them super evil? I mean at least the Haveners know what they're doing is wrong because they're hiding from the law but now The Response what to exploit their operation in order to fight back against the good guys. Of course this is me presuming that Amethyst are secretly good... which I think I may be HUGELY mistaken about. I just love Jackie and want her to be have a picnic with Jules and the gang and they can all be happy together
[/ridiculous optimism for eternal happiness between opposing factions]
OH. Classic lines in this episode that made me L. O. L. (And literally)
Bethany's line about the shower - pure genius. And as usual Grace's lines such as why she hated tennis, how hard parenting is, Riley's thieveing and the poorly made sandwiches. All of them were just hilarious. Seriously, kudos. It was refreshing to get the odd bit of humour and no matter how incongruous it could have potentially been, it worked!
I loved the groupings in the episode too. Tegan's group was ace and I'm getting very curious about Royce and how he knows so much about the ins and outs of Haven. I think an origin episode about Haven could reveal a lot more about him than we think. I might be wrong... but I love that dude.
Marissa's death was tragic and a bit shocking. I thought someone would die in this episode but it was made even more sad because she wanted to leave and then that happened Muchos doomo. I hope Warren goes all revengeful...
So yeah, great episode Alexos. CANNOT WAIT for the second part. I hope many things for it. Heroism, Amethyst riots, more deaths, child thievery, more revealage about the motives of The Response and most importantly... WELL MADE SANDWICHES
Oh and P.S.... LOVED Juliet's password. Very Veronica Mars!!

Aura and Mark are both a bit screwed up, more about why they joined The Response and why they decided to turn against Haven (at least, initially) will be revealed in the next ep, but you can probably already tell that their decisions are going to have a major impact...

This is one of the things that makes me love writing Haven, because I get to play around with things like "good" and "evil". Haven, The Response, Amethyst, none of them are "good", but none of them are really "bad" either; however conventionally The Reponse are indeed more selfish and aggressive than the Haven folk (as is evident by their rude attempt to take over the place). I wouldn't say the Haveners know they are wrong also, but they know they aren't exactly right either...
I just love Jackie and want her to be have a picnic with Jules and the gang and they can all be happy together

Jackie's storyline has been really interesting for me, cause once again she is technically one of the only people who isn't a criminal and is trying, at least , to act morally even if her methods are suspect. There's going to be important stuff with her, Greg and Fran in the next episode, though I can't promise picnics

Hehe, I'm glad you liked all that. I thought since 1.12 was rather like listening to Radiohead for five hours, I would try and add a bit of humour amongst the action, something I'm going to try and keep up for 1.14 too!

Royce has been a background character up to now, and I'll tell you now, he's going to have his own episode eventually. That, and other episodes, will explain what's really going on with him and how he knows so much. For now, I hope you enjoy him and Tegan's group, cause they have some interesting stuff to come with Mark
Marissa's death was tragic and a bit shocking. I thought someone would die in this episode but it was made even more sad because she wanted to leave and then that happened Muchos doomo. I hope Warren goes all revengeful...
Alas, yes, well I had to show just how serious The Response are, and who knows, maybe that won't be the last death caused by them...
I had always planned for Marissa to die in this episode, because basically Warren brought her to the place she was killed, and you shall soon see how he deals with that

Thank you I can promise most of those things, though you will have to wait and see which of course.
Glad you liked the password...it is significant, that is all I can say
Once again, thank you for reading my dear editor, and I shall get writing for 1.14!
Well I love ur series Haven and I just reread Season 8,9 of Buffy and Season 6 of Angel. Although something in the two series left me confused.
First: Where were Andrew and Lloyd during the final battle?
Second:Since Illyria and Fred switched, is Fred normal or does she have more powers?
Third: Is Xander really dead?
Fourth: So wait why did everyone turn to stone?
Fifth: Can it be reversed?
Sixth: So Willow is really gone?
All in All i like the series that you have written keep up the good work

Hi kjhurd; I'm really glad you like the series =)
1. Andrew and Lloyd are in the new world.
2. Fred is Fred but whether she powers remains to be seen...
3. Yes Xander died in the final battle.
4. The prophecy about Dawn came true and she unwittingly tapped into her powers, thus resulting in the time freeze.
5 and 6. Well Season 7 is in the pipeline but I'm concentrating more on Haven right now
Yo Loved this series! The ending of Buffy Season 9 was great and just got better with Angel Season 6. When is Angel Season 7 starting? I'm curious to find out how Angel is going to fix what went wrong in the New World. And if there's anyway in undoing what Dawn did (oh i'll be very upset if you kill off Dawn, I've read a lot of other fics were that happened and didn't like how the story continued after) anyhow I hope you get a chance to at least start the first few Eps. Thanks for the great reading!
This is a good job Alex, and I love your Buffy continuations as well as the continuations of Angel. I cannot wait for your AtS S7. Looking forward to it.
sigpic NOT FADE AWAY An Angel continuity/crossover with Power Rangers Coming Soon!!
I'm also waiting for season 7.
Come on, we're curious to see what's next.
But doing that must be prety difficult smetimes, so theres no mather that it's taking you so long.
