  • Now that Hell has broke out, have all the ghosts returned?

I was just watching Supernatural m"No Exit" (Just got season 2 a couple of days ago) and I started to wonder about the end of All hell breaks loose.

Now coorect me if I am wrong, but didn't 300 ghosts escape? (I believe this was mentioned in TV Week), so now that they have escape,d do you think we will be expecting to see any old ghosts like Bloody Mary, Hookman, the pale lady, the Proviance Child ghost, the little girl in that what'ds the name episode? HellHouse Ghost (Even thought techina;;y he wasn't real) and so on.

Do you think we will see them again? Unless they wetren't sentenced to hell which I don't see why not (Althought one could agrue over some like Bloody Mary, the Mary before she died wasn't exactly evil was she? So would she still go to hell for what she did as a ghost or a real person?)

So what do you think, out of 300 ghosts, could one of them have escaped? Coming for vengence against the Winchester brothers (Althought only a few may axctually have been set free), or contiuning what they were doing before they were killed.

I actually have not heard this "300 ghosts" have returned storyline. Though I did see a lot of ghosts escaping from the devil's gate in AHBL2.

I understood that the salt and burning destroyed the ghosts, not sent them to hell. Dean also mentions something similar in Roadkill to Molly when he says something like, "We don't know what happens, but Dad always said salt n' burning is like death for ghosts."

I always just imagined that the ghosts aa displaced bodies of energy. The salt and burning caused whatever bonds that kept the ghost cohesive to dissolve and allowed the raw energy to dissipate. Thereby leaving nothing. I think Missouri says something similar to this Home when she says that Mom's energy fought the poltergeist and they canceled each other out and neither existed anymore.

I wouldn't expect to see any ghosts the Winchesters previously encountered coming after them. Partly because I think the show has a "been there done that" attitude and figures it has gotten the maximum effect out of the ghosts.

But for a reason more following the supernatural 'verse, most of the ghosts were just misguided people who were hanging on because of something that happened in their lives. I don't think any of them could have developed a hate of the Winchesters that would be strong enough to make them claw themselves out of hell to exact revenge. For most of the ghosts it was not a sentient thought but an emotional attachment that bound them to the earth and their actions. Like in In My Time of Dying, Dean's love of Sam was holding him on, but he was conflicted when the Reaper asked him his decision because his mind knew he should move on. The Reaper also advised that he would lose any mind he had over the years as a ghost.

However, I think that the ghosts that escaped hell may be of a different breed than those emotional ones. These are ghosts that chose to go leave Earth and therefore may have some semblence of self and "sanity". John understood what was going on when he saw his sons. His soul or essence seemed somewhat intact. So I imagine ghosts that escaped will either be people that made deals with demons or really evil people that were sentenced to hell.

Yet, with all the demons that escaped I wonder if evil ghosts escaped from hell makes for a different enough storyline for the show to explore.

*looks back* Wow I rambled a lot.

Yeah and we also get that bit at the end where she "goes into the light" (for lack of a better term) so we can assume that there are other places to go other than hell. That's what I got from it, anyhow.

Besides, they have explained that ghosts are really just angry spirits and most of them weren't malicious people.

Ah I see, I forgot about those refences, and it would make sense since many of them as you said had emotional attachment, althought some were evil before they even died (Didn't the little girl in Proviance kill her family before she died?).

So it does makes sense now, i had always wondered what really happened to those ghosts, especially those who were good before they died. Like the other day I was watching Children shouldn't play with dead things and had wondered if the Zombie Jennifer (I trhink that was her name or am I confusing her with someone else lol) would be going to hell, since the Jen before the whole rising dead thing would have gone to a "better place" before the guy brought her back as a zombie.

That's just the kind of person I am to wonder that It all started back to Spike! Or Angel! Whichever, blame them Then Lenore, Cole and countless of other evil turned good/harmless, would the good cancel the evil?, especially since according to the bible God forgives all who seeks it... Sorry coming off a little off topic but I just can't help but to wonder all of this...

Edit: BTW, I am sure that Tv Week had mentioned something about over 300 ghosts when they had a article on Supernatural returning on Monday
