  • Season 2 DVD Boxset

So, it's coming out in less than a month. Let's take a look at this!

Looks great to me, interesting extras. They look great! YAY for commentary! I'm dying to know which episodes! *hopes for BUABS* Plus, deleted scenes and the audition for Sam! If only we got Dean A Season Overview would've been nice, but the overview of the finale looks great. So, overall, me's excited!

I haven't seen it yet so I am totally excited myself! It's my bday present to myself. I'm really excited to it because everyone one this board is so gah-gah over this show. I mean, I liked 1 but I have a feeling I will LOVE s2. People are just insane about this show here!

I'm not huge on extras on most sets. Commentaries are cool. But I tend to skip over most stuff...

      Release Date: September 11

An audition for Jensen Ackles would have been awesome since he tried for the part of Sam. That would definitely have been unique.

LMAO, commentaries were great for S1, I loved how they made fun of JP cutting himself with the little prop knife as only an actor could. Can we get a stunt man here?! Only made funnier in retrospect that JP goes and breaks his arm on some silly thing in S2. Hmmm...would love to hear commentary on that.

I wonder if the "Devils Road Map" will have interesting new folklore or just be a summary of stuff we already saw on the show.

I love watching the S1 vignettes where the creative forces talk about their feelings on the show. I wish there were some on here. I would have appreciated a collection of all the Verizon Vcasts interviews (10+) with producers, directors, stars etc. Verizon's website would let you watch a teaser of about 1 minute before cutting off.

      Lydia made the punch!

I adore the gag reels, so I am really awaiting that feature and the unaired scenes. I'll be lucky enough to have this in the morning because my wonderful soon to be husband owns a store that stocks it. All Tuesday release stuff gets to the stores on the prior Friday and there are times when I am like, "I can't wait!" I've been telling this to him since the day the release date was announced. So I'll be ripping episodes to my PC to do new videos immediately!

I watched the gag reel last night and just loved it, it's so funny! The Dean eating montage is just hilarious!

I have listened to the three commentaries today and am in complete fangirl heaven now. I especially liked Kripke's commentary on What Is And What Should Never Be. I knew that Kripke was a Buffy fan but I had no idea that he was such a driving force behind eppy 2.20 and that he took some of the inspiration for this ep from the Buffy ep "Normal Again". I literally squeed with joy when I heard that. I love that Kripke is such a fanboy both of his own show and of other shows and the deep love he has for the horror genre. Of course hearing him praising Jensen's acting over and over on that commentary did not suck either. I already knew about Jensen and Jared being uncomfortable while shooting this episode since Sam and Dean did not have a tight bond in this ep but it was lovely hearing Kripke mentioning it again. I also had to laugh out aloud when he said that he didn't know why they kept killing off all these female characters on SN and wouldn't it be more fun to have more women on the show instead of just having Jensen and Jared. I love Kripke's sense of humour. I also like that he knows what his strengths are (the gory horror stuff) and that he gives full credit to Raelle Tucker for pulling off the emotional scenes in such a great way.

The commentary by Kripke, Sera Gamble and Bob Singer on All Hell Breaks Loose Part I was also great and a lot of fun to listen to. The things Sera said about Andy and how it was sad that he had to be killed off perfectly mirrored my own feelings. I had to chuckle when Sera said that she got love letters from fans for getting Sam laid (as she wrote Heart as well). Plus all the things she said about Jared and Jensen being so beautiful that they should be on billboards all over the world, so true! And I liked Bob Singer's comment that when he looks at Jared he mostly thinks "damn he is tall" (and not "damn he is beautiful" like Sera), he has really dry sense of humour.

So far, I'm really loving the extras on these DVDs, I can't wait to check out the ones I haven't watched yet.

I loved the gag reel as well. It's always good to see that they have so much fun on set, playing pranks on each other. I realised that I love those so much because we see Sam and Dean so rarely laugh freely with each other (especially not in S2 LOL) and I take total delight in seeing at least the actors giggling with each other all the time.

Man, the audiocommentary to WIAWSNB was truly great. Though I have to admit that I don't agree with Kripke on the point that Dean would be a loser and drifter without hunting. I think he doesn't take into consideration that the wish!verse is formed from the experiences/thoughts of the Dean that we know. There is no reason to believe that the happy 4 yr old boy that we see in the teaser of the Pilot wouldn't have grown into as a happy and content young man, if his mother hadn't died and the consequences that arose out of that.

Anyways, I loved how Kripke interrupted his narration about the production when they got to the scene with Dean at John's grave, just to praise Jensen's acting and to point out how half the crew was in tears, because of Jensen's performance. I love that Kripke knows the limitations of his own writing and is so grateful to all the people who help make his vision come true (not only writers but also the actors and directors) and give it more depth than he ever dared to hope. He never tries to take the credit all for himself, he always points out what a team effort the show is. And of course his enthusiasm is totally infectious!

ROFL listening to the Gamble, Singer and Kripke is like listening to the 3 Stooges, they are all such dorks. It really shows how well they all get along. I found it really funny how Gamble said that the longer she works on the show the more she feels the urge to be gory and violent working in the horror genre seems to do that to you. I also loved how she said that she was so full of glee to kill Sam that she went into Raelle's office and said: "I just killed Sam Winchester!"

Of course it's lovely to hear how they all praise Jared's and Jensen's acting over the moon and how much they bring into the characters. When Gamble said that she thinks the relationship between Sam and Dean is the 3rd character of the show and how much fun it is to work with that, it pretty much convinced me that they will never stray much from their focus on the Winchesters.

            Audiocommentaries are just great.

I was wondering does any one know when the complete second series of supernatural will be out on DVD in England. I have been looking all around the shops and I can only find series two in the two volumes, but I was hoping to buy the complete series. So if any one know where you can get it from in England, or when it's coming out? Or if it's not coming out at all?

Thank you, I did think about getting the separate volumes, but my series one is the complete and if I could I wanted to get the complete series two as well.

At least I will have a little while to save up. LOL
