    Initial reactions...
As usual, some things are like YAY! for me. Like Kevin Dillon (because as much as I love Ari Gold, Drama deserves some love ), Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer...Hoot! for Masi Oka, but I can't wait for Jack Coleman to start getting some recognition.

some things I'm more blah about. And other ones, I just don't care either way. Boston Legal nods, and Tony Shaloub? Really? I think both BL and Monk are decent enough to watch occasionally, but awards shows are like a sycophantic celebration for them.

And what, no LOST? I didn't watch all of last season yet, but I was definitely enjoying it a lot more.

Ok, I'm peeved. I normally don't get aggravated by the Emmy's and whatnot but for some reason, I am right now.

We'll start with Best Drama Series: Lost and Brothers & Sisters aren't even recognized yet Grey's Anatomy and House are. It has been a pretty general consensus that both GA and House dropped significantly in quality over their most recent seasons. But Lost has greatly improved and B&S has blown nearly every drama out of the water. Granted, I'm so very happy Heroes is getting recognition, I have great doubt in it actually getting the Emmy.

Lead Actress in a Drama: at least Sally Field (WOO!) and Kyra Sedgwick get recognized. No real complaints here.

Supporting Actor in a Drama: My biggest annoyance yet. Woo for Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson. Again, woo for T.R. Knight. But Masi Oka is the one who gets recognition from Heroes? I'm sorry, I think Hiro's a nifty character, but Milo Ventimiglia and Jack Coleman and Adrian Pasdar all deserve that award over him (mainly Jack Coleman). TERRIBLY disappointed by all the publicity and hype over Masi Oka when he doesn't bring much to the table but comic relief, in my opinion.

Supporting Actress in a Drama: I can't complain about all the GA noms. Katherine Heigl definitely deserves the win but so does Rachel Griffiths for B&S.

Lead Actress in a Comedy: WOO FOR MARY-LOUISE PARKER! She deserves it. She was the reason that Weeds Season 2 blew every comedy out of the water. Fantastic actress.

Supporting Actress in a Comedy: Again, major woo for Elizabeth Perkins. She honestly deserves the award SO much. She normally gets nomianted but has yet to win, which is really disappointing.

That's pretty much it for my thoughts. I'm rather disappointed overall. Again, Lauren Graham is robbed of a nomination (which is a regular disappointment but, seriously, it was the last season - she deserved the nomination) and, in general, these nominees just disappoint me.

YAY! AFA'S! COME CELEBRATE WITH US!

Yes, indeed! I was happy for the two Entourage noms in that category.

but awards shows are like a sycophantic celebration for them.
That about sums up how I feel about the whole deal. The re-nominate the same people over and over. Julia-Louis Dreyfus? Really? I don't know a single person who watches that show.

I am happy for the Katherine Heigl nod though! Sandra and Chandra got nominated often, but not Katherine.

And I definitely think Lost was ripped off in drama, but the Terry and Michael nods are nice. But I kind of thought Elizabeth Mitchell was the most deserving of one this season.

      Damn you, Emmys!

GA was definitely hit and miss for me this season. And it was more on the miss side, than on the hit. The stories felt so contrived, and (for me at least) anything good they had going on was pretty much ruined mid to late season. House...got boring for me. I enjoyed it fine enough, but not something I went crazy over. And 24 was that way as well, so I'm not shocked that it was left out...

Now, I don't think it's a secret that I love Hiro. And I really adore Masi Oka, but I think he is a bit overhyped. I think most of the charm has more to do with Masi being Hiro. I mean, there seems to be a very blurry line between the two...if that makes sense. I'm not trying to bring him down, but I was just more impressed by Adrian and Jack's performances.

Yes, indeed! I was happy for the two Entourage noms in that category.
I'm still a little bitter about Jeremy Piven edging out Will Arnett last year, but whatev! I love him. Ari is my hero, and I want my own little Lloyd.

and I know it's a minor category and i'm kind of ridiculous, but I was bouncing up and down to see "D*ck in a Box" on the list. Andy Samberg rocks all kinds of socks, and throwing Justin Timberlake in there...

Actually, Terry O'Quinn (Locke) and Michael Emerson (Ben) were both nominated for supporting roles. Which is kinda ironic if you think about it.

And WOO HOO!!! For Jenna Fischer. Read her blog this morning and she is so excited. Hope this will put her in good spirits and get her back all healed up.

Go Masi Oka, my favorite little Asian. He's such a diverse actor and totally deserves the nod.

Grey's was mostly miss for me too. And while I enjoy the show--more or less anyway--I feel that it has been significantly overrated since its inception. I like House as well, but it too waned a bit this last season. It's a shame that the Emmy voters can't spread the love more.

Finally, we will never have to worry about The Sopranos sucking up toms of noms after this year.

I don't know, I don't ever think the Emmy's are fair--it always overlooks the best shows, like BTVS for example?! The whole "oh, we accidentally forgot to put OMWF on the ballot, and so will now make it too complicated for you to vote for it even though it definitely deserved to win" incident?

Like Bones for instance--Bones has improved astronomically in the last season, while shows like GA have declined--and yet, is it nominated? No.....

              Well, nothing I watch there....
Promise that you'll return to me.

                Why I Don't Watch the Emmy's...

Brothers & Sisters should have got more nominations. Have they not seen Matthew Rhys? Or what about the episode 'Favorite Son?' I've cried three times because of a TV show and that episode was one of the three. It was great writing. I'm glad Sally Field and Rachel Griffith got noticed.

And I agree about Masi Oka, Hiro's okay, but he's not the best on the show.
