    Some thoughts;

Best episode of the season, I liked the story and the end made me really sad. But I knew that it was going to happen when they found out that it was Ripley.

Can I have the same job as Sweets? The guy has nothing to do ... today he had an actual role in the story, but still; doesn't he have work to do (besides talking to Brennan's team)?

I loved to hear more about Hodgins' feelings, last week was just weird and I'm happy to see that they found a way of dealing with it without being very dramatic.

Can Angela go to Dubai? ... I don't mind.

I love Parker, it makes Booth softer and the actor is a very good child actor. His problem made me laugh, poor Parker.

When they found the body, there was the animal who was eating of the body ... first Brennan picks it up ... puts it down let it walk away and afterwards she sends Booth behind the animal. I didn't get the logic there.

Teenage Dexter! I did spend 30 minutes trying to remember where I saw the actor before.

    Ripley Brennan.

ugh, my stupid DVR cut off like the last 20 seconds. Which wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't one of the best scenes ever! I was tearing up! B/B were so moving in that scene, esp. Brennan who was clearly angry and hurt. I had no idea she was such a dog lover!

Yeah, I also like the Hodgins stuff. It's much better now that it has been addressed. On a similar note, LOVED the intern this week. I was waiting to see this ep since I heard Michael Badalucco would be in it. He did great! Maybe we will see him again after his dig.

Definitely my favourite episode of the season so far! It had just the right balance between very funny scenes and moving/sad scenes.

I loved seeing Parker again! Booth is just so adorable whenever he is around his son and this episode proved no exception. And I think Brennan is right, Booth is a very good father.

I'm not a huge dog fan but I still teared up in the last scene, which was excellent. It was great seeing Brennan being so emotional and Booth comforting her. A really beautiful scene, my favourite scene of the season so far.

I loved getting some insight into Hodgins' state of mind. I'm glad that the writers really addressed his issues and everything that has been happening ever since the season 3 finale. Hodgins being sad about Zack not being around, practically mourning his friend, was very moving and made me upset again as to what they did to Zack's character in the season 3 finale.

As for the funny scenes, Brennan trying to chase the oppossum away just cracked me up. Oh and as a native German speaker, I was laughing so hard at the American actors trying to speak German, that was hilarious!

Also, I liked seeing the guy who played Max in Veronica Mars season 3 in this episode, even if he turned out to be the bad guy.

Overall, a really satisfying episode and I hope we will more eps like this in season 4.

        Wow, what a fantastic episode.

I was disappointed with the premiere, but the past two episodes have been great, this one especially! I really loved the case, and I felt soooo sad after it, cause I am such a dog-lover. Ripley Brennan was one of the most saddest things the show has down I loved that Brennan took Booth's advice to "talk to the universe". That was amazing. I didn't really love the new intern, but again, didn't mind him. I'm waiting for one that really grabs my attention (Daisy was annoying, but at least humorous at times). Parker was great in this episode! I loved what his real problem was And Hodgins with Sweets was great. I loved that his coping mechanisism was hate and anger, and Sweets was cool with it. And we FINALLY get a mention of this "Zack" person! Who is he anyways?

Overall, fantastic episode. Keep up the great work.

This was a really good episode, but it broke my heart with all the dog fighting and abuse. And poor Ripley. I was tearing up when Brennan was burying that dog.

I don't really like Sweets, but in this episode he was okay. Parker's problem was so funny and cute. And him wanting to take the finger to school to make her barf?!?! How adorable. The session between Sweets and Hodgins was a really good touch to the episode. Hodgins hates everyone and Sweets is fine with that. Wasn't expecting that answer.

This episode is definitely the best so far. From heart breaking moments to funny, like Brennan with the possum, the episode rocked. Hopefully the season with continue with this greatness.

Still running behind, though I'm trying to catch up....

Alright, a great epp--would have been perfect if not for the fact that the solving of the case hinged on as supremely idiotic a piece of evidence as cherry blossom residue--when there are not only cherry blossoms around the Jefferson memorial, but ALL AROUND THE TIDAL BASIN (across the water from said memorial), as well as around the Washington monument further down, and other various places in Downtown DC--they had no way of knowing it came from that specific area! To make it worse, they used it to make the intern guy look smart, when anyone in DC (and many outside of it) knows about the cherry blossoms in DC--the city of Washington, DC is kind of you know, FAMOUS for them! Sorry, but as a DC area native that piece of supreme idiocy on the writer's part interfered with my full enjoyment of the epp....

Other than that, however, it was an excellent, touching and funny epp--see my running commentary/reactions for more details! Definitely the best epp so far....

I agree, and yeah I did too, though given that this show has seriously suspended belief and credibility before (like when they showed Sweets talking PUBLICLY on TV about an ONGOING INVESTIGATION in the disaster of a season finale last season), I hoped against hope she'd be able to keep the dog--given her animal/dog-loving tendencies seen in this epp I hope she gets one--that right there would be an example of something to do with her character!

Though in itself it's a little inconsistent with what we've seen before--back in season 2 (way back then...) she said she preferred pigs, and always wanted a pig named Jasper--in fact, she even told Booth to SHOOT the dog because he was messing with the evidence--that decision doesn't correlate with today's epp....

When they found the body, there was the animal who was eating of the body ... first Brennan picks it up ... puts it down let it walk away and afterwards she sends Booth behind the animal. I didn't get the logic there.
Seriously! That annoyed/confused me as well--it's like the writers wanted to send Booth chasing after it, but wanted her to pick it up as well....

I actually didn't like him very much at all--I thought he was too much of a Gary Lou, with all his knowledge and expertise, he reminded me unpleasantly of Sully. Again, Daisy was at least supposed to be annoying, so I found this guy who wasn't supposed to be that irritating more so, until the end at least, when I warmed up to him after his convo with Hodgins (I loved Hodgin's antipathy towards him though earlier--Hodgins is so funny when he holds a grudge! I hope he returns to his conspiracy theory ways, that's one of my fave parts of him....).

I agree, it's mine as well I think--between Brennan's wonderful speech and Booth's prodding (right balance of humor and sadness/touching right there) and the beautifully natural hug they shared afterwards--the best B/B moment I've seen in a while--it was pitch perfect.

As for the funny scenes, Brennan trying to chase the oppossum away just cracked me up.
Hee, I laughed out loud as well!

OMG THAT is who he was! I thought he looked familiar..... Thanks!

            Spoiler:
            Bones 4.04 commentary

Aww, Booth with his kid is sooo cute! This is definitely the best way to discover a crime?.way to introduce a crime and character stuff at the same time!

Oh BROTHER, "there's a splendid copse of Japansese Cherry Blossom by the Jefferson Memorial..." "How do you know that?" "I was a Parks supervisor...."?!

Um, hello, there are a CRAPLOAD of cherry blossoms in the monument area and all around the tidal basin--DC is kind of KNOWN for it--you should know if it too Hodgins! *rolleyes* And there are a lot more cherry blossoms than around the Jefferson memorial wise guy--a crow could have come from the Washington monument or the like as well! *shakes head at more idiocy from Bones writers*

OMG Brennan and the opossum are so cute and hilarious! I love how she's more excited about seeing a opossum than a dead body-I know I would be!

Ew, did she really just pick that opossum up? And why did she let it go if she wanted it for evidence?

OMG it's a fluffy puppy! Is this going to be the episode of cute animals then or something? (Or did they take my suggestion from the past of including something cute every episode? )

Aw, you can tell Bones totally wants a puppy of her own, or that she at least seems to be an animal lover?..what ever happened to the pig idea?

Awww it's ANOTHER cute doggie! I think I'm going to like this episode?..and poor parolee, that is harsh to take his doggie from him?

Oy vey is this guy annoying?.I think we have another Gary Lou on our hands, he's almost as bad as Sully with all his "I've done every job possible and know absolutely everything" routine (can I just say I loved it when Hodgins sic burned him on the "we should track this guy down?" thing? )-the only reason he's less of a GL is that he's not as attractive and slim as Sully?..

Lol @ the poor long-suffering FBI guy saying he feels better knowing Hodgins treats "everybody like crap" (so not true btw, only people involved in vast governmental conspiracies! )

And yet another cute doggie in a long parade?..and yet again we see Brennan playing with it (and with a SQUEAKY toy! *squee*)-I'd so love it if she got a dog of her own by the end?..she can adopt the murderer's dog maybe!

            Ew, dogfighting is so horrible!

Aw, are we going to actually acknowledge that Angela and Hodgins (for whatever reason) broke up recently and show some consequences and awkwardness, unlike last week when it was completely ignored? *rolleyes*

Um, who is this random TV guy, and why is he here?

Aw, poor dead doggies?? (For some reason this is almost more upsetting than dead humans?.)

            LOL, "like a monkey"-poor Parker!

Aw, Zack was his best friend?..I think that's the first time he's said that!

ROFL at Brennan with the dog on the couch-please let her adopt him at the end! It would be like when the protagonist of the 1-800-WHERE-R-U books adopted Chigger!

"I just hate everyone" Lol Hodgins!

"Did you get your degree on the internet?"

Awww, poor Brennan! (And Ripley!). Ripley Brennan would have been awesome?.I was afraid this would happen! She can still adopt one of the other dogs though?.

Aw man, what a sad and touching scene! Definitely the best ending in a while-they've gotten some of the empathy back, Brennan's speech was spot on, and the hug with Booth was so natural. Beautiful! If not for the stupidity about the cherry blossoms at the beginning, this would have been a perfect epp! Well done?.

            4.4/5

I find it weird that so many people seem to dislike Sweets, I really like him I think he is cute and funny. I really liked this episode, I really felt for brennan when the dog was put down and she had wanted to take him home. I also liked the scene with Sweets and Hodgins, it was nice to see him open up. I don't like that Angela is not really a big part of the show anymore, I wonder if making her and Hodgins a couple was a bad idea because they were a lot more interesting before that happened.

Don't worry. I rather like Sweets myself. He can be irritating at times but so can pretty much all the characters, so I can forgive him. Overall though, I like him. I think he is trying to fit into the mold of the other characters. He wants to be helpful, sometimes to a fault. But I enjoy John Francis Daley. It's funny to watch him in Freaks and Geeks because even though it only aired a few years back, he was just a kid and even his voice hadn't changed yet.

I like Sweets as well--though at the end of last season I was really annoyed with him and wished he was Gormagon (the perfect Gormagon still would have been Clark, whom they brought up close to the end to remind people he existed). But in general now I love him, especially when he's geeking out about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (woot!) or something like that!

I'm right there with you. I thought they brought Clark back a reminder as well and I think he should have been the apprentice. It still would have been shocking, imo. Plus, I never really liked him anyway. :/
