  • New Shows On The Block!!!

Well, this season alot of new shows are hitting the TV screen. What are your favorites so far?

    MINE!!
    1)90210
    2)Fringe

90210: I just really like this new version of 90210. I love how they entwined the new cast with the old cast. I the actors are doing a great job with all their characters. The storylines are good, noit great but good.

FRINGE: This series is just sexy and amazing. I loved every minute of it and cant wait to see how the season comes out. The characters are great and the storyline was different from any i've seen, so far on TV. I can tell this sci-fi thriller will be awsome!

New shows I have seen so far.

    1. Fringe = I like it a lot. JJ always puts out amazing shows; I haven't disliked one yet. And although I was afrais it would rip off the X-Files...it didn't. So cool.

    2. 90210. Saw the pilot. Stopped there. I watch too much crap already as is. I only saw the pilot because it was broadcast at nearly 1am due to a baseball game and there was nothing. I love Jessica Walter but that's enough to keep me coming back. Plus, I never much liked the original anyway.

    3. True Blood. It was okay. I'm gonna watch the next ep and see how I feel about then. But it okay enough to make me curious about what's next.

um, I think that does it for the new shows I have seen so far. There's a bunch that I just didn't bother with at all, i.e. Privileged, Do Not Disturb...

Privileged: I watched it this morning. I DVR-ed it last week and I have to say it's pretty good. I think it didn’t get enough publicity, it was over looked. The show was pretty good and is going in a great direction. The acting was great and all the characters were likeable... not all of them, but I say give it a try.

i've like most of JJ Abrams work so far in television (loooved Alias, liked Felicity, Lost was interesting (but definitely dragging it out) and even What About Brian wasn't bad while it lasted), but Fringe seems like an X-Files type of show, which i'm not into that type of show...and the 4400 also kinda bored me as well.

for those watching it so far, is it much different from X-Files, and is it better?

Different? Yes and no. X-Files deals with paranormal events and Fringe focuses more on pseudoscience. And Fringe doesn't rely much on the believer/skeptic scenario. But both have large conspiracies at their core mythology.

As for is it better? Well, I am a HUGE XF fan. Hell, it was the first tv dvd I bought over a decade ago! And it cost over $100 for s1 back then. Fringe has onlt had three aired eps so far so I can't make a judgment yet. But XF is a true classic. However, I am thoroughly ejoying Fringe and it is my fave new show of this season.

thanks for the response; since you're a huge X-Files fan, i'm thinking the opinion may be a little bias; i'll probably just wait around till more episodes air to get a bigger picture on the show. though, i don't know how long these new shows take to air in Australia (might be next year), but they do seem to be fast-tracking a lot of shows these days.

For me, "90210" is the only one I stll watch. I watch the first few episodes of "Fringe," and I liked it, but I lost interest quickly...

Oh! I thought "Kath and Kim" was pretty funny. Selma Blair! I'll probably just watch a few episodes throughout the season, since comedies aren't really my thing

have you seen the Australian version? is it comparable? in the Aussie version, Kath says certain words in these strong accents...but i can't imagine that same accent or those same words in an american accent. from the casting, Selma Blair looks good for the part of Kim, but the person playing Kath doesn't look like the right fit.
