I really wonder how they'd bring Donna back, I mean with how it ended in season 4... I'd like to see how they come up with that. The Master has died so many times... it wouldn't be that difficult to bring him back
Hmm, I can see Catherine Tate coming back. Though just as a minor character, or even a cameo. I don't think she will be a main character cause it would just wreck the events of "Journey's End" and would really make me dislike the series a bit.
Oh my! I always spoil myself (unfortunately) so I tried really hard not to click the link but I just had to. I hope it's true though, well maybe at least.
I mean if Donna was to come back and for her heartbreaking exit in Journey's End to still stand she wouldn't be the Donna we came to know during s4. It'd be such a shame to see her again but only as a cameo or minor character or even as her clueless pre-Doctor self. I've mixed feelings on this one but if it were to happen I hope they won't make the circumvention of what happened to her in the finale a total cop out.
The Master on the other hand... surely it must have something to do with Lucy taking his ring at the end of s3? Either way he's such a good character I'd love to see him again

You'll definitely see the Master again at some point, wether in the specials or later on. He's just too much a part of the history of Who no to make a comeback at some point. Of course wether this will be the same Master or a new regeneration is a different matter.
As regards the specials: I've heard some interesting things about the Xmas special, namely...
SPOILER!!!
Spoiler:
David Morissey will be playing a character who has been dubbed "The other Doctor". Speculation abounds as to wether this is a future regeneration of the Doctor, an alternative version,an imposter, or just someone who is a doctor. He does however seen to have a companion in tow with him. There will qalso be an appearance of a new type of Cyberman, known as a Cyberwraith, which appears to be a Cyberman head with an insubstantial body concealed by a long cloak.

Yeah I am counting on seeing the Master again (he's like Davros, we'll never be rid of them ) but I was hoping the Simm-version would come back. There was just something about him.
As for the other spoiler...
Spoiler:
I love David Morrissey but I hope he's just someone who's a doctor. I think introducing future regenerations or even future companions sets too much in stone for stories to come. I like being surprised by what happens and not having to wait for certain events to occur... so I don't know.
The Cyberwraith sounds interesting enough (I was hoping for a steampunk inspired Cyberman). Although as much as I love Daleks and Cybermen hopefully they'll introduce new bad guys in the other specials.
Yeah I've heard that one myself although I can't see how they would pull it off. Maybe some kind of body swap would be one idea that might work. Other than that I don't think this will happen in the long run. It's too convoluted and although JS would be brilliant it would mix up the mythos too much.

It would, but I think RTD loves doing that, and Stephen Moffat's not afraid to tinker with the canon. At Comic-Con someone asked Stephen what will happen when the Doctor reaches his final regeneration and he just said "Oh, there'll be a spell or an amulet or something. Don't worry about it."
