  • "You Know You Love Me" - Favorite Character

The age old question: Who's your favorite character?

Currently, I love everyone, it's really hard to choose so, I'm allowing multiple votes. Right now, it's a toss up between... Never mind, whenever I narrow it down, I think, "Wait, I love that character too!"

For now, I'm going to say: Chuck, Blair, Vanessa, and Nate. Probably in that order.

At first, I hated Chuck. He was a little, and by “a little” I mean A LOT, too forceful on Serena and Jenny in the ‘Pilot.’ For the first few episodes, I thought he was the most horrible person ever, but then it happened. Like a light switch, I knew Chuck wasn’t as two dimensional as I thought. The moment in “Victor/Victrola,” when he and Blair were in the back of the limo and he asked Blair, “Are you sure?” After that moment, my opinion on Chuck Bass changed completely. By the end of Season 1, I developed such a man crush on him.

Like Chuck, I thought Blair was horrible; the scene when she revealed to everyone that Serena spent time at the Ostroff Center was the worst thing she ever did, especially since it wasn’t even true. I just loved the moment when Eric revealed the truth to her. The smug expression on her face was whipped off in seconds. After she and Serena reconciled, I really started to love Blair, because she remained a bitch, but we began to she her reasoning behind it.

I pretty much liked Vanessa from the moment I saw her. I enjoyed seeing a female character who came from a different lifestyle, but didn’t want to be apart of their’s. She’s like a female Dan, but she doesn’t always have that, "I'm better then those rich kids." attitude that he has, which I really like. I really hope her role gets severally expanded in Season 2. She has the potential to be a very interesting character so I hope they don’t try to ditch her down the road.

I despised Nate in the beginning. I thought he was so whiny. Everything he said pissed me off, especially when he got mad about Chuck/Blair. I mean seriously, he slept with Blair’s best friend WHILE they were together. After the Writer’s Strike, we got to see a different side of Nate. I loved that he was worried about Jenny in “The Blair Bitch Project” and I loved it even more that he helped her out. It was very cool of him. Though, the main thing that made me like him was Vanessa. Nate and Vanessa had such an interesting relationship and I hope more happens between the two in Season 2. If it’s not a romantic relationship, I at least want them to have some sort of friendship.

    Hands down, Chuck and Blair.

Blair, I've loved from the beginning. She was always a step ahead in cool, and I loved her ups and downs and whatnot.

Chuck absolutely disgusted me in the beginning. Watching those episodes again, he still disgusts me, but I'm more amused by it. But he became progressively more lovable in the middle, and ended up at the top of my list with Blair. The way it should be

And Lily would have to be my other favorite. I HATED her. I thought she was a horrible person. But I loved seeing her warm up, and just rule all the other Gossip Girl parents. She is only upstaged by teh hawtness of Rufus. Really. But I love her more as a character.

Like you, I ended up liking Nate (and Vanessa) so much better individually once we saw them together. I realized Vanessa's awesomeness that I've been missing. Plus, she's better than Dan And Nate just was so much more appealing with the Vanessa fling.

I loved Dan and Serena in the beginning. But do nothing for me right now. And I just personally dislike Jenny. Maybe for no reason at all. I'm just not a fan

Ok I picked Blair first Becuz who doesnt love watching the Bitch. She just so much fun and I love how one episode she mad at serena and the next she's not. I really didnt start liking her until after she was dethroned and she was a bit vulnerable cuz it was a bit sad.

Chuck is an ass which I love and Hate. The thing I like the most is his Love/Hate relationship with Serena and how he helps her at the end of the season. I hated how he actually listened to his scumbag father in the last episode and went with that girl and Not with blair but whatever

I definitely agree. At the beginning of Season 1, I loved both Dan and Serena, together and apart, but after Hurricane Georgina happened, I began to like them less. They both handled the situation terribly. I get that it wasn't easy for Serena, she felt responsible about what happened, but she made such stupid choices. She could have went to Blair, Nate, Chuck, Lily, and, if she wanted someone who knew Dan, Vanessa. She choose to play Georgina's games. Though, Dan would have probably ended it anyway, but if she went to someone before, he would of never had to find out.

As for Jenny, now that she's seemingly past her "I wanna be Blair 2.0!" phase, I really think she could become a very interesting character.

I missed about 6 or 8 episodes in the middle... and then saw the finale (oops).. so the whole Georgina storyline made no sense to me, and Dan breaking up with Serena either. lol
It did make me no longer like Dan though.

So I voted for Gossip girl herself, cause I love the bitchy voice that Kristen Bell puts in there
          And Blair, Serena and Rufus.
The last one, just because he's HOT and quite sweet!

Once again, my love for bad boys triumphs so I of course had to vote for Chuck! However, I'm with J.j., I really hated him at the beginning but ever since he started falling for Blair and started showing his vulnerable side, I started falling for him. Those two just have such a sexy chemistry together, it's a delight to watch them interact on screen together. Of course Chuck is not really reformed (as the season 1 finale proved) so I'm curious what's in store for his character and for the Blair/Chuck relationship in season 2. I love that Chuck has this cool I don't give a damn about anything or anyone attitude at first but then you start seeing the cracks: for example when he falls in love with Blair or when he is so hurt when his father is disappointed in him (re the whole club thing).

My other favourite characters are Blair (I love her bitchiness and her banter and bickering with Chuck but I also love that she is really there for her friends when they need her) and Serena because underneath all that bad girl attitude she has a big heart and can be very kind to people.

I also voted for Rufus because he is just hot and sexy and such a cool dad! Also, he has got that whole cool former rock star thing going for him.

Yes, definitely! And I love his friendship with Nate, even if the Blair thing put a good amount of strain on it.

LMFAO. I love them. They'd totally be my favorite pairing, if not for Blair/Chuck

Seriously, I was screaming at the TV, "SERENA VDW, STOP BEING AN IDIOT!" And Dan is just...fun for no one

I'm hoping Jenny becomes more interesting. Or at least fun. She's young! She has the luxury of being able to come back completely different without pissing me off for being OOC. We can just chalk it up to her growing up.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that, thanks for reminding me, J.j. I'm also very fond of the Nate/Chuck friendship! It shows you pretty much from the start that even though Chuck is a selfish jackass, he is able to care about other people.

I love the scene where they made up in the season 1 finale, it definitely had a slashy vibe to it.

I agree on both accounts. I find both Dan and Jenny are annoying and irritating. Dan is too self-righteous and boring and Jenny is just a cheap copy of Blair. I hope they will develop a more interesting storyline for both characters in season 2.

As much as I love Serena (or Blake haha pick and choose) I do agree with that. I thought she was being really dumb about that whole thing, I mean, it was pretty bad, but if she could tell her close friends she could've told Dan. I also hated how Dan was so vulnerable to Georgina heh....

But for my favorite I chose Serena, Blair, Nate and Rufus. Kinda funny because I swore to myself I wouldn't really like Nate, but I have ended up doing so. Rufus is just a cool dad. And also mentioned before as hot ahahaha.

Speaking of Dan, I don't know if you guys have read the books, but I thought Dan seemed less... whiney...

Well, it took a little warming up to, but I gotta go with Blair. Yeah, she is a total bitch. But she also has such a sweetness and vulnerability about her. Not to mention she is one of the more layered characters on the show. Overall I find the characters a little blah on this show. But Blair is a rich find in it.

oh boy . serena allll the way . im in love with blake lively. i love everything about serena.

i disagree without a lot of you, imo blair isnt that great haha . sure i love her and she makes the show interesting, but i wouldnt say shes amazing or like the best character . she annoys me sometimes how mean she is and how focused she is on what everyone thinks about her . she should focus on being a little more nice and stop her evil plotting. jesus KARMA.

Well, favorite character doesn't necessarily mean the character you think is the nicest. Favorite character just means who you like the best and appeals to you most. I mean, a lot of people pick Spike as the fave character and he spent a bulk of the series as a villain. I like Blair the most because she makes the show fun. And honestly, this show isn't much without her, imo.

Well my favorite character are Gossip Girl, Serena, and Vanessa.

I just LOVE Kristen Bell's voice and the way she delivers the lines, sometimes it give me chill. That might sound stupid, but I don't care, she's awesome!!!! I really want her to guest star on the show, maybe as gossip girl, but that's the point we cant see her.

Then I picked Serena. To me Serena is genuinely sweet and nice and I respect her. She also has this classy feeling to her. Then I picked Vanessa. Vanessa is just a down to earth girl, who would rather take things into her own hands instead of others doing it for her.
