  • Dead Like Me [movie pushed to 2009!]

So the series rocked, we got 2 SUPER strong seasons and then it got canned... Why? Who knows, it was a great show and could have eaisly lasted another 2 seasons, 3 at best.

Then we got a movie. It has been filmed (I even saw them filming around Vancouver) and for all we know the princable filming is done and all that is needed is the special effects and I guess other editing.

Originally the release date was July 2008. Well that has come and gone. HBO has announced a 2009 release! Which means we gotta wait months for a LIMITED RELEASE! Meaning only some states will get the DVD...

It bugs me. It pisses me off that they are doing this to the fans. (but to be fare, so far the trailers for the movie look kinda crummy...)

So hopefully this will get released. And now that they have more time I can pray and hope they will refilm Laura Harris into the film since her series got canned

Yeah, I thought it look kinda...not good. And I hate that there is a different Daisy. Seriously, that role is all Laura Harris's!

Also, the reason the show got canceled had more to do with the Showtime bigwigs than anything else. I've read several articles that claim the head honcho didn't care for the show so he canned it. The ratings weren't terrible and it was admired by critics, so there was just some ******* in charge wielding too much power. :/

I absolutely love this show, ever since I saw a trailer for it on Sky I knew it was a show I had to watch and so I finally tracked down the first season, but had to wait ages for the second, which I didn't even know was out until I went shopping on my birthday, was kind of surprising, but nice surprising.

Anyway, when I heard about this movie I was so excited, but now that it's been pushed back further and is only having a limited release it seems unlikely I will ever get to see it, which is disappointing as I know there are lots of fans this side of the atlantic too.

To be honest, I'm not sure about the cast changes though, I mean the dude replacing Rube's character I can deal with because I'm used to him in Lost and also he's a new character, but with Laura Harris' replacement it's less good, I mean, I get that Laura Harris couldn't make the movie, so why not just have another new character rather than somebody just replace her.

Double yes! Henry Ian Cusick is fine. Because he is not playing Rube; he's a totally new head reaper dude. But Daisy?! She is a great character so I can see why they would want to utilize her, however Laura Harris brought so much to her and it's just not going to be the same. Especially since I never particularly cared for Sarah Wynter. She's a mediocre actress, at best. :/

Its upsetting that they couldn't just wait for Laura Harris to go on hiatus with her series. Which means they would have been filming right now and we would have Laura Harris (hopefully with a wig, cause I dislike her short hair do... very unDaisy)

I'll still check it out. And I'll go down to the states and try to track it down, cause as a fan of the series I will have to give it a chance. I would have liked Betty to return... I liked her over Daisy and it would have been cool to get some more detail on where she went.

Word is if sales are good enough they will start bringing the show back, but I doubt that will happen. But Laura Harris is now open to play Daisy, so we can kinda hope... but I really doubt the series will be the same without Rube (who... I guess is also avilable seeing as he left Criminal Minds).
