Katherine Mayfair and Penny Halliwell?

Okay, not sure where this goes so I am putting it.

Anyways I was watching the finale of Desperate Housewives last night and I was thinking, doesn't Katherine Mayfair look alot like Penny Halliwell from Charmed? (The Charmed ones's mother I mean). I dismissed it because I waasn't sure, so I checked Season 1 and looked at the booklet and it didn't look like her, but that was what 1996? This is 2008, if Penny had a few features changed she would look like Katherine Mayfair (Btw, I have no idea what both actresses's name are, hence why I am asking this question).

So it just my imagination or are these two the one and same? (There was an interview with the actress who plays Katherine in TV Week some time ago and there werer no mention if she was related or one of the same, but then again they don't always mention all the shows they have been in).

So just to clear up, are they one of the same? Or do they just look similar?

Do you mean Patty Halliwell? Penny was their grandmother, Grams.

Finola Hughes, who plays Patty Halliwell has never been on Desperate Housewives, as can been seen here on imdb.com. If you mean Grams, Jennifer Rhodes, then no she wasn't in DHW either.

Dana Delany plays the character you are thinking of, Katherine Mayfair.

Ah Patty, I keep getting thier names mixed up, always happens. Anyway thanks for answering my question, I wasn't sure if they were one of the same or not (Grams/Rhonda looks nothing like Katherine/Dana or Patty/Finola). And I also know what Patty's actress name is too
