Yay!! After seeing the trailer..
Spoiler:
I'm really looking forward to Rose's return! However, I'll be very upset if Rose is married, engaged, pregnant, has a boyfriend, doesn't know the Doctor, is a ghost, isn't the same Rose or doesn't actually meet the Doctor... Hopefully, she'll be normal!
Moss: Four! Five! I mean Fire!
Tosh: Because you're breaking my heart.

I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT. Did you see the new promo with The Doctor & Donna? It's so cool looking. Here it is. It looks like this season might be even darker than last season. I hope so! I love it when Who is serious and The Doctor is angsting lol. Plus I can't wait to see Donna in action. She seems like she's going to be kickass.

Spoiler:
I think that it might be the Doctor lite ep that she returns for...so maybe won't have much interaction with them together?

Spoiler:

There are pictures floating around of them filming together though. So they'll have at least one scene together. The person who was taking the pics said they do interact in the scene.

Oh, interesting!
Spoiler:
I'm glad to hear that actually. Much as I like the concept of them not actually meeting, I must confess I do want to see them together on a self-indulgent level.

I'm really really looking forward to the Pompeii episode (filmed on the same sets as HBO's Rome apparently. It's like my Latin course I took at school come to life...Caecillius! Made even better by the fact that it's PEter Capaldi, the guy who played the bastard spin doctor on The Thick of It. He one scary scary man. Though I suppose he's not playing the villain...unless Caeclius est Alien as well as Pater? Did anyone else do the cambridge latin course? Because I want to make jokes about the cook pleasing the slave girl, and how everything is Quintus's fault, but think they may not work unless you did that book at school! ....

The first ep sounds fun too...all very "Heat"-related (as in the trash culture magazine), with the focus on magic weight loss solutions. Wonder what the aliens will look like who are behind it? And can't wait to see Donna again. A companion NOT in love with the Doctor gives me a happy.

It's the Agatha christie ep I'm most looking forward to specially as it's done by the guy who wrote 'The Shakespeare code'. Oh and the two following that are Moffat's so should definitely be worth watching

YEs yes, that one too....
Spoiler:
I do love Miss Marple dearly, and Poirot...and it's interesting that they're doing it as a young Agatha Christie. Wonder if there'll be some Doctor/Agatha flirting? I bet there will be. They can bond over their love of wonders and problem solving and mystery. And I bet there will be many bad gags. Wonder if they'll do a "little grey cells" joke? They could do a good one with something relating to alien DNA. You know, some little Grey's cell

Ooooh Hope:

Spoiler:
Although I know that the Sontarans are the 'mid-level boss' of the season i'm not sure there big enough bads to carry the last 3 eps (cos it's lookin like another three parter) My big hope is that with all the daleks except one gone and all the timelord but one gone (perhaps even definitely this time!) the two races will both make a come back. I can think of no finer figure to herald this than Davros. My second choice would be the Masters return but i think it's probably a bit too soon for that.

Davros please yes yes! Remember the Sun rumour about Gandhi playing him? What's his name? The dude from Sexy Beast? Damn. Mindlblank. Anyway, yes, a big old classic Who villain like that would be great stuff. What about the Rani, wasn't she supposed to be in this one? Or was that just speculation re who picked up the ring at the end of last season?

I hope they have some cool one shot characters too, like Sally Sparrow or Madame de Pompadour.

Re Donna: since she's (phew) not going to be sappy loved up googly eyes companion, I hope they use her to prick some of the Doctor's pomposity. Occasionally he CAN get ridiculous (and they acknowledged this more with some of the older docs I think) and it would be nice to have someone take the mick out of him a bit more

As for one spots i can see Agatha being good but yes someon like Sally. Or just Sally that would be nice.

Rose occasionally did take the mick out of the Doctor but i think Donna will bring a nice stubborn 'no liberties mate' feel to it. A lot of people weren't happy with Donna as companion but i'm really looking forward to her.

Spoiler:
t's like my Latin course I took at school come to life...Caecillius!
Haha, the exploits of Caecilius, Metella, Grumio, Quintus, Modestus and Strythio! Outrageously genius! And I don't think we can really mock any of these characters, since I recall THEY ALL DIED in Pompeii, except for Grumio the cook who got his freedom and set up a wine shop, and Quintus, who found his dead dog and cried, and then got his father's ring, and went to Britain. And got his mate killed whilst hunting crocodiles. (Amazing that those are the only things I can remember - try reciting mensa now! Although, the only Ancient Greek I can remember now is how to decline the definite article, which has no relevance or use in modern society at all, except for when someone says 'the hoi polloi', and I can tell them that hoi is Greek for the, and so really they are making the Pin Number mistake of repeating themselves. *Sad*)

Wow, I just love the idea of a Cambridge Latin Course/Who crossover!

And re. Agatha Christie:
Spoiler:
I have a feeling that they will find themselves in a classic 'whodunnit' scenario which will inspire Agatha to write the future books. The dialogue, I agree, would be very interesting, sharing an appreciation in all things mystery. And also, whilst the Doctor deals with big universe-y type things, he too could be emotionally invested in the slightly more boring banality of normal human murders. Perhaps Agatha chooses that there's enough mystery on Earth to keep her occupied, that the Doctor can deal with the extraterrestrial.

And so they should be. And thanks for the name reminder. He was soooo scary in Sexy Beast, I can totally see him as a Who baddie.

As for one spots i can see Agatha being good but yes someon like Sally. Or just Sally that would be nice.
Yeah, having her come back at some point would be ace. In some other context that's surprising. Perhaps no room for her this season but soon?

Rose occasionally did take the mick out of the Doctor but i think Donna will bring a nice stubborn 'no liberties mate' feel to it. A lot of people weren't happy with Donna as companion but i'm really looking forward to her.
Really really looking forward to her. I think Rose took the mick out of Nine more than she did TEn....I got a bit tired of their complicity, the sense of them being two giggly kids in on some kind of a joke...I think it works better when there's some tension between them, some sense of a gap that needs to be breached perhaps? And there's definitely that with Donna. I also like the idae that she comes looking for him because she wants an adventure. Like Rupert Bear only less bovvered.

Sorry. The bovvered jokes are NEVER going to go away for that poor woman are they?

Woo! Latin Course buddy!

We had this theory in school that Quintus was somehow behind it all - perhaps some kind of a wizard/bad fairy type who jinxed everyone who came into contact with him. I'd forgotten about Grumio though. Well, he deserved a break after pleasing the slave girl so much

The thing I remember best is the English translation of the Pliny's letters we had to do for GCSE. They were so ludicrous that somehow they stuck in the mind. "You may laugh and you are allowed to laugh, for I, that man whom you know well, have caught three wild boars and very fine ones at that..."

Wow, I just love the idea of a Cambridge Latin Course/Who crossover!

Ooh yes, that's good....Agatha could remind him about some of the "small stuff" that makes up the mysteries of the universe, perhaps he's been a bit Buffy season 7 lately, making inspirational speeches to gas men and generally focusing too much on the big picture?

Spoiler:

The first episodes monsters are ADORABLE. lol. I hope they turn out not so bad and don't die or anything. They are too cute.

I'm incredibly excited for 'The Doctor's Daughter' I was wondering if they'd ever follow through with that "I was a father once" quote of his and it looks like! And she's played by the 5th Doctor's real life daughter! Sweet.

I did wonder why this was never explored before, will be interesting to see what they do with this.

If this girl IS the Doctor's daughter, that would be brilliant. An explanation of who Susan's mum is would be, well, about 50 (when was Susan?) years overdue!

I want to have a scene where the daughter's pregnant and the Doctor's talking to her stomach in a confused babble about his hopes for her future, except he already knows what her future is, so...less hopes, more knowing...but also maybe things can change...

Because I like watching the Doctor babble about time.

Want. Want so hard. (Although am slightly jealous of how coherent the Cambridge Latin Course sounds. In the Greek one, none of the stories ever have any endings.)

I've seen all the trailers and mainly I'm just going giant BEEEEEES!!!! and feeling incoherent.

Have been trying to feel more warmly towards Catherine Tate. On the one hand, find her incredibly grating. On other, long as she doesn't fall for Doctor, a happy.

Doctor's daughter thing, too. Coolio. I thought it might be a throw-away thing like Jack and pregnancy so glad they're following up.

Spoiler:
Well in case it isn't obvious from the trailers they've toned Donna down somewhat, they've not actually changed the character as such, it's simply that they've written it that removed from the original situation we met her in, she's less annoying. I am told it's all be done in an entirely believable way.
