It will be returning in the fall.

Season two is over and no new episodes will be filmed for it.

Kristen Bell is not signed for next year and will probably only be involved in a multi-episode arc.

That's what I know right now.

"Heroes" is getting a third season but it won't start airing until the Fall (probably in September). However, they're going into production in the beginning of May and that, by the time that 3.01 airs, they will have 10-13 episodes in the bag. What does this mean, exactly? That they may end up producing a large amount of episodes and airing them from September to May with next to no reruns or hiatuses.

They're gonna continue with their plan for "Volume 3: Villains" and casting offices are gonna be busy with people trying out to be on the cast as one of the numerous villains their adding to the show.

Also, Kristen Bell's contract is up and the producers of "Heroes" are fighting vigorously to get her back for "a story arc."

And...That's everything I know about "Heroes."

I saw an video interview on IGN, that was posted yesterday, with KB at WonderCon, and she was talking about Heroes, and the decision to wait to start again in the fall. She said, "I think we'll go back in two months." and when she was asked about where her character was going she at first talked about how when they pitched her the character to her, they revealed several things to her, then she said "...I know a little bit, but not much." Then the interviewer asked if she could tell him anything [about Elle] and she said, "...You've got to watch it!"

So, I'm guessing she'll definitely be back with the way she said "we'll go back" instead of, "They'll go back." Hopefully, they'll get her for a full Season. She seems to trust Tim Kring a lot so, I doubt it'll be hard. I think it'll just start off as recurring, but eventually expand. With the strike over, she probably wants to keep her options open at the moment.

Oh, I wish we didn't have to wait for so long (Channel 7....This better be one of those time when you FASTTRACK with the US and don't wait until next year), but aleast we will get a season.

That's pretty disappointing about Kristen Bell... she had completely stolen the show, even the "season finale", in just a few appearances, and she was set up to become a central character.

I hope Heroes comes back, I really do. But I had nearly no interest left in the series by the end of s2, mostly I was watching because I had nothing better to do. The only character who interested me at all at that point was Elle and now if Kristen Bell does leave, I won't even have that. Even Claire, who was my favourite in s1, bored me to tears by the end of this.

If it doesn't radically improve early on, I'm done with the series. With 'Sarah Connor Chronicles' kicking all kinds of arse, and with Joss' 'Dollhouse' coming in the Fall, as well as new episodes of 'The Office' and brand new Buffy Season 8 and Angel: After the Fall. I'm not willing to spend the time on the show if it continues in the way it did I'm afraid.

Not sure if this helps or not, but I am going to be working with Noah-Gray Cabey next weekend and the next again, so can ask those things, :P Will also be seeing a couple of the big Heroes agents. I was chatting with Adrian's agent on Saturday night and completely forgot to ask what was happening! doh! So I'll try and see what I can weasel out, lol, but everyone tries it, so we'll all confer and see what we can put together, lol.

I actually heard they would be going back into production in March. But I don't think it matters either way because the idea is--as you state--to get a lot of eps completed. I also got the idea that they were indicating that season three will be an extended one with maybe 27 or so episodes. But there is no official word on that just yet.

Apparently it is a myth that it costs a lot to produce. In an interview with the creators posted on Whedonesque they stated they're not sure why people think it's a pricey show, because they actually don't have much money at all.

Hey hun, I know for a fact that it's not March that they are filming. But that they have pulled the filming date forward to sometime in April I think, or perhaps May. But Hayden was supposed to be working on movie and filming it in April/May, but due to the change of filming dates for Heroes, her filming for the movie has been pulled forward to start last week I believe, as she had to cancel her appearance at an event this weekend, and the next again. I hear she is set to finish filming in April and go right onto Heroes afterward (but I am unaware if she is finishing late April ready to start in May, or is Heroes is going back to filming in April).

Really? Every story and article I read on the show seems to mention its production costs. I don't think it is the most expensive series to produce out there but cost is relative. FOX, as a network, doesn't generally spend as much on their series as the primary 3 networks do. So it may be a pricey show for FOX to do but necessarily a pricey show overall, if that make sense.

It's interesting how "facts" get sort of passed around though. I guess there is no way of knowing the absolute truth.

The way that I understand it: FOX isn't happy with the shows ratings considering how much money they're spending on advertising it. They feel like it's all being wasted on a show that can't pull in enough viewers to be a blockbuster, like they seem to think every show they put on the air will be. FOX is so fu#%$& up in the head, I swear. They seriously believe that every show they put an ounce of effort in will become this huge ordeal like "House" or "American Idol." That's why they rarely have a show last past season 1.

I'm really hoping that "Sarah Connor" gets renewed. It's critically acclaimed, worshipped by a cult that's rapidly growing, but it's just not the blockbuster FOX dreamt that it would be. And considering its time slot, how could they have expected that it would have more than the 8 million viewers it's already been averaging each week?

The only problem with your point is that Heroes isn't aired on FOX. and SCC is doing okay, there is a lot to be said for cult followings. Buffy and Angel survived solely on cult followings. Obviously that doesn't work for every show, but the fanbase appears to be growing at a pretty rapid rate.

Not to go OT but I just read at Watch with Kristin that a renewal for SCC is pretty much a lock. SO all seems good on that front.

I knew you watched SCC, cause I was lusting after your art, and I made a comment in passing one night that I thought you and I might be the only ones on the boards watching it (heh) and Line, and a ton of others jumped in like "HEY I WATCH IT TOO!" so atleast I know we aren't alone. I have to admit I was a little nervous about it, seeing as I love the Terminator series, but I love it.

Anyway. back to Heroes since this is the Heroes section. I am SO excited about Sylar getting his powers back, and as much as I love Peter, I think Sylar would completely kick his ass. Peter still seems to be in the stages of being afraid to use his powers, but Sylar can't wait. I wish we could see an epic battle like in 5 Years Gone (which we technically didn't even "see"). So, yeah, my two main focuses right now are Sylar, and Elle. The only two people I find remotely interesting at this point. Kinda bored with the other Heroes.

OH! except my nerd-crush Hiro. I want to make out with him.

If Peter is fully into the fight, Sylar doesn't have a chance. Peter has, by default, any power that Sylar has, and yet also has substantially more -- most importantly Claire's, Hiro's, and Elle's. Presumably he should also have the Haitian's power, and could neutralize Sylar before it even starts.
