  • Freaks and Geeks

Did anyone use to watch Freaks and Geeks? I've just been watching it for the first time and it's a nice little highschool show, fun, not cliché, kind of touching at times too.

So far I've seen the first 14 eps, which means, sadly, I've only got 4 left as, like most good shows, it was cancelled far, far too soon.

Anyway, if you fancy discussing the show or any specific aspects of it, meet you in here.

Oh my god, LOVE this show. Freaking rules. I absolutely loved the cast (Seth!). Plus, Bill pretty much rules.

And randomness, Rashida Jones as bitchy bully Karen (god, that name will follow her around forever) in Kim Kelly is My Friend cracks me up. Just because it's Rashida...

Just seen Noshing & Moshing and don't you just love Daniel? Oooh I wanna cuddle him. Love Kim too, in fact I love Daniel and Kim as a couple, they're great.

And I've not seen Bones since I started watching F&G but it's gonna be a shock seeing Sweets. If I ever have a son, I want him to be like Sam, soooo sweet! And yeah, Bill rules. But we've got a lot of brilliant actors in this show, I think thingy who plays Kim is amazing - can't believe she's not in the opening credits, that's pants.

And we've got Millie/Amanda too, good actress in this.

I'm off to watch another one, getting really gutted that'll be my antepenultimate one.

        Dude. For realz.

Love the show. Funny and warm and quirky and real. I haven't seen a lot of love online for it. I actually capped the whole season in case I or anyone feels like doing some funky cool 80s art someday.

Glad there's a few fans though!!!

Think I'm definitely a fan cos I've just watched the lot in a couple of weeks and I'd be quite happy to start over from the pilot tomorrow. But tomorrow I'm watching the last one, sooooo gutted!! So unfair when shows like that get cancelled. Same stupid excuses as Firefly. They show them in the wrong bloody order, mess up the schedule, and then they're all shocked when the ratings aren't as perfect as they'd like so they cancel. Shooting yourself in the foot much? What's the point, I mean what's the point?!

Anyway, the two I've just seen, Smooching & Mooching and The Little Things. Highlights: Bill's speech on French kissing, Cindy crying when introducing George Bush, and bloody Ben Stiller in Rosso's office! Hilarious.

I'm not looking forward to waving this show goodbye. Wish I could watch them grow a bit longer.

Yeah, she was pretty good. I hear she (Busy Philipps) wasn't in the opening because she was late to be added to the cast. At least she gets an "also starring" credit though.

And it is a little weird seeing Sam in Bones because he has grown up so much. He was also in that restaurant comedy Waiting.

It is unfair indeed! I have to say that I didn't watch the show when it aired on tv. And actually...I didn't even know it was on. I didn't see promos and stuff for it. That's NBC's fault. And they did mess up the schedule a ton. Such a shame.

The kissing stuff is so great! And I really love the scene where Bill does get kissed. It's a very sweet kind of moment.

Makes your sweet kind of moment a hot kind of moment.

Haha. He does look pretty cute there. I've seen him on some other tv/films and he always plays that awkward, goofy kind of guy. He is so amazing as Bill. He truly inhabits that character better than anyone could I have, I think.

                  Just watched the last one.

It was really good, love the way it ended. Loved Daniel playing D&D. Daniel playing D&D is a bit like Spike writing poetry, innit.

Anyway, needed to get over the ending so watched the pilot of the closest thing we have to a sequel, Undeclared. It's okay, I suppose. So far it sounds like it's got F&G's humour but not its depth. But then I'm on the rebound. Still, nice to see Seth.

Can anybody recommend any good F&G fanfic? I don't mean like any old fic called F&G (I can do a google search) I mean something you might have read and enjoyed? I'll probably ask in the fanfic sections as well.

I thought Daniel playing D&D and liking it was poetic justice. Oddly, he totally fit there!

I don't read fanfic, so sorry.

Undeclared is no Freaks and Geeks. But I like it too. It is very funny and extremely easy to relate to if you have ever been in college. And look out for a hilarious Will Ferrell episode! It's a gem.

YES! I Love Freaks and Geeks. At the begining of the year I was at the libary and saw the show and I got really excited. So I rented it. The show has a natural funniest to and is really down to earth. Like all shows that I think is great they get cancelled. Hmmmm guess what channel it was on?

I'm surprised it wasn't on FOX. NBC is usually pretty good at giving their shows a chance but they just completely screwed this one up!
