  • Heroes Season 2 spoilers and casting news

Dania Ramirez, who Buffy fans will remember as Caridad, the potential Slayer that Xander has a fantasy about in "Dirty Girls", and who other TV fans might now as Blanca on this season of "The Sopranos", has been brought in to join the cast of "Heroes" next season. Her role is as yet unknown.

        Nope.

This man in his late 20s is referred, in the info we were given, as an ageless American with an European feel. He is said to be a charming womanizer who as a soul that seems to be older than he appears to be.

        - A new Japanese recurring female character will be named Princess Keriyama.

        - A few high school characters living in California will be added to the recurring cast. They are: Gay cheerleader April; charming 18-year-old West, who doesn't fit in much; May, a mean cheerleader high schooler.

        - Other recurring characters making their first appearances in the premiere are: Georgie and Blackie, two Irish thieves, who are under orders of 45ish ringleader Ricky; friendly 40-year-old mild-mannered Bob who is said to be the "unassuming face of a very powerful organization"; NYPD detective Kincaid.

        - The second episode will introduce new regular Monica. She is a beautiful African-American in her late 20s. She is very kind to people and always thinks of them before taking care of herself.
        - She's probably who Dania Ramirez is playing.
        - His power's not aging?
        - Someone from the past Hiro's in? Probably an actual princess.
        - Claire and Noah now live in California? Claire's classmates?
        - I don't know.
        - A new characters was mentioned to be Micah's surrogate mother, this is most likely her. My guess, DL didn't make it and Niki's depressed, Monica steps in to take care of Micah.

            Spoiler:
It's been said that "Hayden, Adrian, Milo, and Ali" are all garunteed back next season.

My personal speculation is that Nathan flew away (to safety, of course) from Peter before he exploded in the sky - hence the delay and constant shots up at the night sky before the big bang happened. Peter, likely, regenerated after exploding and flew down to Earth.

So, based on speculation, both could be back next season. Especially if Kristen Veich of E!Online got something right like she usually does (excluding the whole VM incident a month or so ago).

Heather, that would be best, I think.
              Spoiler:
I would hate for them to just get rid of Peter, especially since he is already rapidly becoming as cool a superhero concept as any of the icons are.

I would love it if Masi Oka came back full-time. He really is my favorite. I guess I just have soft-spot for nerdy Asian guys. :P

OK, so I've so obviously been freaking out about this "Surrogate Mother" casting that's being done for 2.02 and I've developed a theory for it that was kinda...inspired by Buffy's "Tough Love..."

                  Spoiler:
                  Maybe DL did die.

Micah was just getting so close to his dad again, bonding with him, loving him...and then DL dies. It would be earth-shattering for him, especially at his age. Suddenly, he wouldn't want to do well in school, quite possibly wouldn't want to actually GO to school. So his grades and attendance start to suffer.

Meanwhile, Niki doesn't have a job, or at least a job that pays well. She's having difficulty bringing money into the household. Eventually, Child Services see her as an unfit mother. She can't get her son to go to school and she can't pay for the things he needs. So they threaten to take Micah away and send him to this surrogate mother.

The storyline spawned by this would include Niki getting all depressed, lonely, and lost again. She'll start to feel weak and like she failed Micah.

Enter this supposed "third personality," mentioned at a convention by one of the lead writers. Somebody who CAN take care of Micah and who just might be even worse than Jessica.

The theory makes some sense and it calms my nerves GREATLY (where I was originally thinking they would kill my favorite character off). I can only hope that this is the route they're gonna follow...

Interesting stuff in my opinion. I LOVE that David Anders is joining the regular cast! FANTASTIC! I loved Sark and I love David Anders so this is a major plus for me.

What's curious about the spoiler about the Heroes Press Release Conference is who appeared. It took me a while to figure out that Noah Grey-Cabey (Micah) was missing from that line-up and that has me baffled. Why cast a surrogate mother for Micah if Micah's not in the line-up...?

What took me even longer to figure out was that Santiago Cabrera was there. That threw me for a loop and I've been trying to figure out why he was there for a Season 2 press release conference when he hasn't been on the show since his...well...you know... *Slices the top of her forehead with her finger*

But I'm majorly excited about this coming season. Should be fantastic!

                        Spoiler:
It does sound exciting, so Micah the one who not on the list? Hmm I wonder how this will affect DL and Nikki/Jessica?, and cool we get to see a Bollywood actress, wonder how her being the sister is going to play out? Season 2 sounds pretty exciting....A thought just came to my mind, is the actor who plays Micah the only one missing? And do kid actors go to press conferences or what?

I've been dancing in the clouds since I heard David Anders was joining up! Not that I am a Sark fan but he played the character well and this type Hero sounds like another chance for him to shine. Woohooo Alias reunion! I'm mostly so happy to see Greg Grunberg is coming back. I just love that man. He is adorably funny and endearing.

Oooh, this four month skip ahead sounds very promising. I loved 5 Years. Although 4 months is not much, I love the catching up with characters. We as an audience have been separated from them for four months so it picking up immediately after always feels odd. We've changed since watching the season finale, why shouldn't they have changed a little.

Aaack I'm getting excited for shows and it's not even July yet!

                          Lydia made the punch!

Heroes began filming season 2 already, and it will start airing in September. (September 24, I believe) But I think what Ehlwyen meant was that all this news about shows is getting her pumped up and ready for them so early in the season

I'm having a monstrous panic attack here because I was watching the newest Aussiello Report on TVGuide.com and he was talking about a rumor going around concerning Ali Larter. Basically, the rumor says that Ali will only appear in a handful of episodes this season and that she'll disappear early on, only to reappear later in the season in a "very surprising way." He continued to say that NBC has said that this is "untrue" but that could just be them trying to throw fans off.

I dunno how to feel. I LOVE Ali Larter and especially with her recent interview (see below for spoilers), I don't know how I feel about this. She makes the show FANTASTIC for me. Her disappearing better be kickass and her reappearing better be WAY worth it, should this rumor be true.

Moving on to recent spoilers courtesy of SpoilerFix...

"I've heard a little bit," Larter said about the upcoming arc for her character. "A little La Femme Nikita... I'm happy about most things they give me on the show."
This makes me squee with delight, especially since they're still referring to Ali's role as "Niki/Jessica" (or Jessica/Niki). But this makes me wonder how they could give her an arc and then make her pull a Houdini early on...Curious...Very worry-worthy curiousity, of course.

"It makes it very clear, in the very first episode of this year, he's not defanged," Coleman said. [...] Coleman revealed that in the second-season premiere, which picks up several months after the events of the season finale, his character has been reunited with his adopted daughter, Claire (Hayden Panettiere), and his wife (Ashley Crow) and son (Randall Bentley). "The Bennet family has relocated," he said. "I can't tell you exactly where. And it's a new world. The secrets they keep from each other are new secrets. The old secrets have all been divulged. We're not retreading the old ground. But there's old ghosts. Old habits are about to rear their ugly head in a very dramatic way. The Bennets are together to start, but in a very difficult, awkward circumstance that they all have to try to deal with. And it gets pretty sticky pretty quickly." Coleman also said that his character will continue to be one of the few on the show without any super powers.
Woo for the Bennets being reunited again! This, also makes me happy.

                                  Lastly, some casting news...

-Dana Davis has joined the Heroes cast as Monica, the african-american woman mentioned in 2.02 spoilers as someone who will give anything for the people around her. She's a regular.

-James Kyson Lee (Ando) has been promoted to regular status.

Figured that that second one would make lotsa people happy.

ANDO is now a regular! That's cool! He's always been just on the edge of it all and without powers so it's cool to see the show at least has some interest in the character.

Not reading and commenting on all the spoilers. I have to remain in the dark on some things.

That's the same rumor about Ali Larter that was around last year. I almost didn't watch the show just to see her eliminated so quickly. So ugh for putting us in the same fearful and resentful mood! I agree if it is true it better be kickass disappearance and return! It better not be die and then reappear in someone's dream or alternate reality.

                                    Lydia made the punch!

So ugh for putting us in the same fearful and resentful mood! I agree if it is true it better be kickass disappearance and return! It better not be die and then reappear in someone's dream or alternate reality.
Oh really? I didn't know that the same rumor was out last season. Huh. But that calms me down some. Though this time it might make sense because they casted Dana Davis as Monica, a young African American who will be Micah's surrogate mother (I believe). But she's in 2.02 and Ali's still around in later episodes...I dunno.

                                        But yeah. I'm still worried.
