  • 4.10 Crash Into Me: Part 2

Who else thought this was the best episode of the season?

Having had the two week break made it hard for me to keep up with who was in which operating theatre, but I think this was the case for the doctors too!!!

The layout of the whole ep, starting at the end and going back was a really nice tight way of handling the story.

-I couldn't believe Nick died. That he was the one they chose to kill off just bit at me. I loved, however, that Cristina took Lexie home to Meredith. That was awesome, and I love that she becomes integrated, not through sleeping with Alex, but with Cristina leading the charge. That's awesome and somehow more imaginative but also more organic.

-I LOVED George's line about his belief system to the Nazi! That was kick-ass. As for Cristina calling Bailing out for 'using' her- I felt for Bailey whose day already sucked, but it was fair.

-As for Bailey's marriage... I see both sides... but if you can't ever put your partner first, you can't keep them.

This was the first George/Izzie interaction I liked for a long time- they did have chemistry as they danced, just as best friends. Not as marriage wreckers where George wants out and finds any way, and Izzie just wants something she doesn't have.

A nice close or summing up of the Ava/Rebecca/Alex storyline. Now if they end, they end, but if they have a storyline, a chance, they have a fresh start.

The Derek/Rose thing. Aaagh. Predictable. The moment Meredith is in any way ready, he screws up... I like Rose, I like the Rose/Derek chemistry, but am over any story that leads to more Meredith angst!

Did I miss anything? Share your thoughts, please!

    It was up there.

I had three main thoughts for the episode:

    1. Seth green rulz!!

    2. Bravo to Alex for calling Rebecca out! He was so right and she couldn't deny it.

    3. I actually liked Meredith for once. I liked everything she did in the ep especially telling Hahn to shut up because she was scaring the patient. And I usually quite detest Mer.

I'm a bit behind but I really enjoyed this episode!

Very sad that Nick died, but like Jo I believed he would as part of the development of Lexi. I really liked Alex calling Rebecca out, that was nicely done and completely called for!!

Even Meredith didn't annoy me as much as she normally does!

I just feel that the story is moving away from the development of the initial cast and apart from Meredith (well unless they kill her/drastically change her!) they are the only ones I'm really interested in. Lexi ok, maybe but I still feel like Izzie, Christina and George are being sidelined for less interesting stories. Especially now George and Izzie seemed to have gone back towards normal friendship finally!!

I think Bailey needs to become the Nazi again and the core group need to go back to interns, they aren't taking this show in a direction I'm particularly enjoying /sigh

The other thing I did just think of about this ep is the fact that Lexie and Nick were getting kinda flirty- and in this sense, I am glad they killed him off, since we've already had the Denny/Izzie and Ava/Alex storyline, and I don't think I have the energy for another one right now, honestly.

Realised that I wrote a bit about this ep on LJ, but never posted it here. So here are my thoughts, such as they are!

I think this was the last ep they've made, so there'll be no more now until the WGA strike is resolved, whenever that might be. There doesn't seem to be any end in sight right now

I'd predicted that Seth Green's character was toast last week, and so it proved. I really wanted him to pull through! But he was Lexie's lesson in getting attached to patients and then having them die on you - they've all been through it, one way or another. I liked that Cristina actually pulled her finger out and did her job as Lexie's teacher and mentor - it's way too easy to forget that the gang are residents now and responsible for their interns in exactly the same way that Bailey was responsible for them over the last three seasons. I also liked the symmetry of the dancing scene at the end, looping back to the dancing scene at the start of the first part. The fact that Cristina had brought Lexie home, the simple fact of Lexie being there, so that it wasn't just Meredith and Cristina, that was what made it possible for Izzie to get over herself and join in, with George. She's had such a bee in her bonnet about Mere and Cristina's friendship being exclusive, been so jealous of them having that. It was great to see that barrier finally breaking down. There seems to be hope for them all! Almost...

I'm still not sure what the point is of the whole Alex-Ava/Rebecca thing. And I'm very sad about Bailey's marriage

We actually have one more episode (4.11) that will air January 3rd, I believe. But 4.11 is the last episode they have completed. Which I'm kinda sad about, since the past two episodes HAVE been better than I expected, but I'm also alright about it since...well...GA hasn't been the same for well over a season and a half now.

Don't call her the Nazi anymore!

Yes. Yes. What is the point? It made more sense last season and now....I don't get it. Still glad he called her out, but I don't get it. I thought we would be learning more about Alex this season and that perhaps she would be a way to access that, but so far that hasn't come through. Honestly, we know the least about Alex over every other character. Well, Mark too. Besides his affair with Addison, we don't know much about his past. But after 3+ seasons with Alex, I would like to know more already. :/
