  • The O.C.: Most Shocking Plot Twists

I've been re-watching my DVD's of The O.C. lately, and the two plot twists that had me gasping in shock still bring out a reaction in me:

    1. Lindsay being Caleb's daughter (I so did not see that coming.)
    2. Frank Atwood (I thought he was either a cop or a really stealthy con artist. Never in a million years could I imagine that he was Ryan's father.)

Were there plot twists that really got anyone else? What were they?
    Insert witty quote here.

Marissa's demise takes the cake for me. I did not see it coming. If I hadn't just heard rumors about Misha's leaving I would have been totally blindsided. Even still they set it up for her to only leave and then bam! flamey death!

Can't say I saw Frank Atwood's reveal coming. But it didn't seem so natural and seemed like the show was just trying force more parental strife upon Ryan.

Julie and Luke was a huge surprise with how Seth and Ryan are talking about how Ryan is going to take a week and be angst free and he can't even go 30 seconds before finding that Marissa's mom is sleeping with Marissa's ex!

Caleb not having any money to leave any one was huge to me. Julie having to go live in the trailer park had be shrieking with surprise and giggles!!!

    Lydia made the punch!

Biggest shock to me was probably Marissa's death, I was in shock after that I didn't think the show would make such a bold move.

It's been a long time since I watched my dvds so the thing freshest in my mind is the Ryan/Taylor ship. I never would have envisioned those two together. Moreover, I never would have imagined they would be one of the best ships the show ever had. They totally made the last season special and awesome. After a disappointing third season, they totally revived the show in the fourth!

Although, the whole Julie/Luke thing was crazy. Man, I love Julie! She's such a hoot!

Also, that Johnny kid's death was pretty out of left field too.

Yeah I didn't see that coming, but when I did I couldn't wipe the smile off my face

LOL!!! I was going to say the Taylor/Ryan ship but figured I was the only one surprised it. Just the remaking of Taylor from the villainess to the most identifiable character of the show in S4 was unexpected and delightful.

Johnny's death wasn't so shocking. But I was utterly relieved that the show decided they'd done enough and ended it rather than dragging it out. Now, Johnny getting hit by the car and forever ruining his surfboarding career was out of nowhere. It was a bad twist that mired down much of S3.

I did really enjoy Marissa having to go to *gasp* *horror* *low voice* PUBLIC SCHOOL!!! LMAO! It was fun seeing her in a real school with real high school dances. As well as Kid Chino being seen as the preppy rich boy!

              Lydia made the punch!

Ah, yes! I was mis-remembering. It wasn't the death but that crazy accident that was shocking. It's been a good year and half since that season aired and I haven't rewatched it yet.

Season three is definitely the worst. Season one is the best, I think. I usually don't rank first seasons as my faves because sometimes it takes a series a little while to hit its stride but in this case it is deserved. I really anjoyed it.
