Well, Ava was back...and she was basically in the on-call room the whole night. And then she left again! I really loved how Alex just went right for her.

Okayyyy....um, I guess this whole Gizzie thing is still on. Whatever.

Christina was a bitch to Izzie! But I also love how Izzie confronted her and called her out on the hypocrisy. Of course, her argument is a little void because Meredith didn't know she was sleeping with married man...well, except that one time at the prom, I guess.

So, there is a new regular cast member: Erica Hahn. I thought it was weird they way she showed up and I was like "huh! Sound slike she will be around for awhile." Turns out I was right in that feeling. Ausiello has an interview with Brooke Smith. I like her!

Sorry for the sloppy thoughts. Just wanted to get the thread going and write down a few things. Me is tired now.

I guess Gizzie won. I'm gonna really really miss Gallie But I loved Gizzie and I won't be sad... as long as Callie doesn't get shunned... which it looks like she won't because she is livin with Cristina! How awesome is that gonna be?

I really didn't get why Cristina was so pissed at Izzie for... I mean yeah she slept with a married man, but how does that effect her so much? I guess she isn't too happy about broken marriages.

Ava! I hope she returns because those two are just GAH! Perfect I love how he was finally able to sleep after getting some closure with her, that she was somehow haunting his dreams.

Woo for Hahn! Glad to get a woman in Cardio for a change This is gonna be preeeetty interesting the dynamic between her and Cristina. And speaking of which, man was she a bitch to her! Though I really loved Cristina telling her off at the end, hehe.

A great episode though. I'm glad that Greys is getting way less relationship drama-y like the end of last season and just plain ol' Greys drama-y.

Speaking of Grey's... I loved that little scene between Meredith and Lexie, I'm really hoping for some more of those.

Christina was a bitch to Izzie! But I also love how Izzie confronted her and called her out on the hypocrisy. Of course, her argument is a little void because Meredith didn't know she was sleeping with married man...well, except that one time at the prom, I guess.
Izzie wouldn't have known about prom sex, I don't think - she had her own issues at the prom to deal with.

That episode was not bad at all, with one issue. Hahn's unprofessionalism towards Cristina, Alex hooking up with Ava/Rebecca (there has to be a way to shorten that - Avabecca?), Meredith's happiness towards George and Izzie's relationship and Bailey's sudden marital problems to me seemed to be included only so that no one could challenge the badness of Gizzie without being a hypocrite - it seems as if it's being shoved down our throats and I'm not liking it at all*

Speaking of Alex, what was the deal with Avabecca? Way to regress. Let me guess, next he'll be pining over Izzie, forming a new hateful triangle

In spite of Hahn being there for a heart patient, where Cristina and Izzie were fighting over who would be scrubbing in, somehow Cristina is a dirty dirty floozy for sleeping her way to the top? *BZZZT!* Sorry, Hahn, thanks for playing, try again next week. I'm more surprised that LVADgate didn't come up at all, since Izzie probably wouldn't be in that surgery if it had been mentioned.

Why does Bailey need marital problems? Oh right, so that the viewers will think that Callie is a mean woman who caused poor George to cheat on her and find his twu wuv. The idea that no woman can have it all is implied, btw *sigh*

Speaking of Gizzie, I'm glad that Callie's getting a divorce. Then Gizzie can go far, far away and so Callie won't be an inconsistent mess - though her relationship with Cristina shows promise. In that regards, Izzie can clam up about her "closed circle" crap - IIRC, Izzie closed the circle when she obnoxiously picked George after Geometry sex. At least Cristina (and Alex) managed to be civil during the "Meredith is a leper" time period.

Whatever on Derek - please find someone, anyone who will give you babies and marriage and acquiescence, just. not. Meredith. I guess he isn't so addicted to her, is he

Meredith kicked ass this episode - she's interacting more with Lexie, she put her mom the rest (in the best scene of the night), she was great trick-or-treating for ears and she didn't really seem hung up on Derek. She's growing, you guys, and I love it

Grey's Anatomy was doing SOOOOOO well...and then THIS happened.

I'm going to cry. Seriously. I was loving this show again and I went into this episode hoping it would be like the 4 before it. Hoping it would be like Grey's Anatomy. However, it was not. And it wasn't even for the same reasons I strongly disliked last season - when I thought the show turned into a sappy soap opera. My problems with this episode were because of how ridiculous and contrived and morally-wrong/disrespectful almost everything was! Granted, most of my issues with the episode come from my own beliefs/ideas, nothing truly sat right with me.

Meredith handling her mother's ashes as she did just seemed so wrong, to me. It was disrespectful. Not to mention, creatively speaking, how far from left field this "haunting" thing came from. We haven't even truly MENTIONED her mother in the longest time and now, all of a sudden, she's haunting Meredith?

Then Ava returns and brings back a tone that Grey's Anatomy explored last season that I absolutely didn't want to see ever again. I love Alex sometimes but, in this episode, I agree with Zack - he regressed SO much. Just last week he was pretty much admitting to Izzie how much he cared about her and that he was practically waiting for her and how he disliked her actions and yet, there he goes, sleeping with a married woman who pretty much left him hanging for so long and shows up - essentially - just for some chitter-chatter and sex. Truly frustrating.

And then there was Gizzie. The ship that would not die. EVER. The ship that the writers/Shonda Rhimes tries to justify in every single episode. And while, in the previous, this couple wasn't being shoved down our throats, last night? I was choking on it. I cannot STAND how they're making Izzie look like a martyr and basically saying "Hey, you slept with a guy you KNEW was married - a guy you work with...HELL! A guy who's wife you work with. But it's ok. You're still cool and we're OH so happy for you!" Cristina, in my eyes, was completely in the right when calling Izzie out in the stairwell. Izzie's argument was totally void since, yeah, Meredith didn't KNOW Derek was married but Izzie did and she slept with George anyway. Yeah, so Meredith slept with Derek on the prom night thing but I agree that Izzie couldn't have truly known that that happened.

And then there's George. Bailey's sudden marital problems, also, came from left field and seemed to only have been written in to justify what George did. To justify cheating on your spouse. To make this Gizzie relationship all Callie's fault. To say that Callie drove George to do it and that it isn't George's fault.

I was pulling my hair out every single scene with them. Again, I tolerated their relationship in previous episodes but now? Now I can't deal with it. I'm even thoroughly annoyed with George - I roll my eyes whenever he appears on screen. Ugghh! Total frustration!

        The highlights, though?

-Everything with Mark Sloan. I love the guy. And I love the NUAMS (Nurses United Against Mark Sloan) club and how he seemed to be so sympathetic and caring with the Boy-Who-Had-No-Ears. Plus, he's a very comical (and good looking) man.

-Meredith and Lexie's exchange of morbid acts made me giggle and then feel bad for Lexie after the fact. Truthfully? If they killed off Meredith, kept her character for the voiceovers (ala "Desperate Housewives") and kept Lexie onboard, I would not have a problem with it. Hell, it'd still be Grey's Anatomy, would it not?

-Cristina and Callie bonding. I loved Callie and Addison last season but now I'm excited to see Cristina and Callie living together and becoming friends (almost).

-Dr. Hahn. I love her! And I had a total deja vu because I was watching the newest four Weeds episodes (where Brooke Smith has a recurring role). Even if she was disrespectful and unprofessional and wrong with Cristina, it still made me giggle with what she said. Which is good. And I'm glad she's gonna become a regular now.

-Derek's prank on Sloan. "Daddy?" Enough said.

-Oh, everything with Cristina, pretty much. I love the woman and was on her side with just about everything in this episode. I especially loved the "You can't have my apartment" line to the Chief after she found out he hired Dr. Hahn.

And, to close this with a random negative note: does anyone else feel like every song they play on Grey's Anatomy nowadays sounds like KT Tuntstall? It all sounds the same! Truly agravating.

But a very weak episode, for me. And I SO hope next week isn't as bad but, from the preview, it certainly looks to be Gizzie-centric...again.

Shonda Rhimes is a lying, egocentric whore.

        That's all.

Most of it's been said, and I agree much lots!
          Yay-
          Cristina/Callie
          Dr Hahn!
          Meredith Lexie
          Derek's joke on Mark- ROFL!
          Nay-
Gizzie. Bleh. Double bleh. We spent two seasons or so of Derek/Addison figuring out what the ring meant, and in an instant, Gizzie get to sit together at lunch! Go Callie for calling it first thing in the morning and just 'outing' Izzie. Good for her.

As for the Cristina Izzie thing in the stairwell- Izzie claims Meredith/Cristina are a closed circle. In a way I see her point, but I also disagree- M and C have completely different needs to Izzie, and I think Izzie doesn't see that, she assumes that what they have she would want. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

And Ava! And then she left! Alex better go get her next episode!!!

I was really disappointed in this episode, it doesn't seem to me that the show has turned around much.

I couldn't agree more. That was just disrespectful and felt so wrong with me, how the writers turned the whole Meredith's mother's ashes thing into one big joke. And since I hated the whole supernatural/ghost thing they did in season 3, I was not happy to see a glimpse of that again at the beginning of the episode. Although I have to say that the scene where Meredith and the Chief are handling the ashes in the hospital was quite good.

I know! It is truly frustrating and this back and forth with Alex made no sense to me. In eppy 3.04 he seems to be truly caring about Izzie and is really hurt that she slept with George etc. and in this week's episode he practically jumps Ava's bones as soon as he sees her? WTF? These writers really do not know a thing about character continuity. I was never a big fan of Alex and Ava, I always thought that Alex and Addison would have made a great couple. But her coming back like this and all they do is have sex and not talk about anything (not for lack of trying on Ava's part though), it just felt wrong.

And then there was Gizzie. The ship that would not die. EVER. The ship that the writers/Shonda Rhimes tries to justify in every single episode. I totally agree! This Gizzie thing is getting more and more frustrating and I hate it more with every new episode! I felt so sad for Callie, she really does not deserve to be treated this way, to be humiliated like this. I'm glad that she told everyone about Izzie and George, good for her. And yes Cristina was great in this episode, I loved how she gave Izzie a piece of her mind, she was really saying to Izzie what I have been thinking all along. I also thought it was great of her to let Callie move in with her, that she actually took Callie's side in this and by allowing her to move in with her support Callie. It's not often that we get to see Cristina being kind but I definitely think she was kind to Callie in this week's episode.

Oh Bailey, you have broken my heart in this episode! It was literally unbearable for me to hear her say all that crappy dialogue that the writers put in her mouth. The fact that the writers had her say over and over again to George that he is not a bad guy, it really made me scream with frustration! Bailey is one of the few good characters left and now the writers are even starting to ruin her. It's a sad thing indeed.

Shonda Rhimes is a lying, egocentric whore.
            Amen sister friend!

-Everything with Mark Sloan. I love the guy. And I love the NUAMS (Nurses United Against Mark Sloan) club and how he seemed to be so sympathetic and caring with the Boy-Who-Had-No-Ears. Plus, he's a very comical (and good looking) man.

Agreed. In all the soapy drama, I can at least count on Mark Sloan to make me chuckle every time he appears on screen. Not to mention that he is very easy on the eyes! The nurses club against him was just great, I laughed aloud at that one.

Oh and Mark and Derek's renewed friendship is one of the few things that I really like about this season. I love their teasing and bickering! I guess Addison not being around anymore really helps their friendship.

So overall a very frustrating episode, the Gizzie-ness of it all just makes me sick!

I think I'm the only one who had a slightly different reaction to the Bailey storyline. Frankly, the idea that her marriage is in trouble/at the least has tensions comes as no surprise to me. It surprises me (oh, wait, no it doesn't!) that the writers don't handle her mommy storyline a little better- what I mean, is the storyline was only included in the first place because the actress was pregnant. As soon as she gave birth the storyline was more or less dropped after three eps or so... A baby is for life, not just for Christmas, people! And now the rarity with which the child is mentioned makes it all the more angering and tokenistic.

In any case, while another marriage breakdown is the last thing we need, it stands to reason that Bailey's marriage is in trouble.

As for the George justification thing- yes, Bailey was entirely out of line there. We have Callie who is failing professionally at the moment all because she has been trying and trying to put her marriage first and the only reason this has not been successful is because she is the only one who has been working on the marriage, and George has been cheating, pulling away, and poor Callie has had nothing left in her heart for her work while her husband not only fails to support her, but drains her.

I was sooo disappointed this week

The last two weeks I felt had been going somewhere more intesting, and for some reason this week they bring back Meredith's Mum and Ava.. two lame storylines from season 3 for no clear reason /sigh

I thought they were going to a place where Alex was into Izzie, that whole thing last week with he was waiting and she wasn't ready and the way he found out about Gizzie... but no.. apparently it's all about Ava It made no sense to me, just seemed like a complete waste of time in the episode.

Gizzie is still destroying me with everything. Callie was funny telling everyone about Izzie sleeping with George though, go Callie!! And her bonding with Cristina was funny, although slightly forced IMO.

Bailey's marriage is breaking down too?! What is it with this hospital!! I did like her confession to George and telling him he wasn't a bad person was nice. Doesn't make Gizzie any less sickening though!!!

I love Derek and Mark's friendship, it's nicely done, feels like it was completely natural at some point. And Mark doing the surgery for the boy was sweet. Oh and the nurses against Sloane was very funny!!

I really hope we get more than just a few funny moments in a terrible episode next week...
