  • 7.02 "Kara"

There are some holes, as I missed the very beginning before the credits and some spots in the middle. But...Kara going around picking up small children totally killed me. Really, I thought it was hilarious. And I was pretty much rolling when she tried to fly away and Clark pulled at her feet. (Also, am I the only person who cracks up at the sight of this? It's a little funnier when you actually go to the CW site, and she's floating outside the window...) I'm not entirely impressed with the actress, but the character's likable enough for me. Aww, and they wear matching primary colors, as Chloe kindly pointed out. I find it funny that Clark put together where Kara's ship was before Chloe did. It just made me laugh a little, because I love doofus-y Clark so much. I liked that scene where Clark was teaching her how to superhear.

I wasn't feeling Mr. Editor. (Although, that may be my bias against him...not being too thrilled with a certain reporter ) Anyway...I realized how much I love the exterior shots of the Daily Planet. They have a cartoon-ish quality. I think that's the word I'm looking for. But I just realized how pretty I find them And even the newspaper itself, that scene where they showed stacks of papers that Lionel's headlined (wait, I think it was Lionel)...it has that same quality to them.
Anyway, I think it's great that Lois is really moving up in the journalism world (though it's at Chloe's expense ) I was just kind of bored throughout the episode... "Something Strange is Going On: The Lois Lane Story" It feels like the same thing over and over again. I don't know if that's what they're going for, but that's how I feel. I still love Lo and her crazy fun

I'm already trying to deal with and make the best of one Lana. The thought of her being cloned...I have to be honest, did not sit well in my head. Plus, I was hoping that she'd look like hell when Lex got to her...Other than that, I didn't hate it. I was just more in the "meh" area about it Of course Lana puts on the tough act, and ends up in tears.

Oh yay, FOS. I think all the prettiness (FOS, Daily Planet) is what I loved most tonight I was waiting for a lame retort about Clark having a crappy ass first superhero lesson, but I think I was just hearing it in my head. Not really though. Even if Jor-El doesn't think we can trust her, I look forward to more Kara/Clark stuff. I mean, Clark could learn a lot from her. Like how to defy gravity. (Are they going to throw in something about him not flying every episode?)

Also, one big hug and cookie for the Chloe I still think she's the shiz, even if mr. bigshot editor doesn't think she is.
would you do anything for me

Okay now that's more like it! I really enjoyed this episode and am quite surprised by this. I found it better than the premiere at any rate.

First off, I love Supergirl! Kara is one hell of a cool chick. I loved the Kara/Clark sparring, their talks about Krypton and their family, the way Kara taunted Clark ("the yellow sun must have fried your brain cells" ) and yes, JJ, I also had to laugh when Kara picked up those little kids looking for Kal-El. The scene where Kara wanted to fly off and Clark grabbed her ankle made me laugh as well. Kara taunting Clark about not being able to fly and that girls are more advanced also made me chuckle. But it was also nice to see Clark teaching Kara something (the superhearing). I think the two actors had a nice friendly chemistry going, I want to see more of them. Of course I'm also very intrigued by Jor-El's warning about Kara, curious how all of that will play out. So the Kara/Clark scenes were definitely my favourite part of the episode!

I did not care for the new editor of the Daily Planet either. First off, I cannot really take a guy seriously who thinks that Lois is better than Chloe. I hated how the new editor treated Chloe, that was really mean. Oh well, I guess Lois had to end up at the Daily Planet at some point. I'm still not big on Lois and this episode did nothing to change that.

Oh btw didn't the actor who plays the new editor use to be on The O.C.? Didn't he play Summer's boyfriend Zach? I thought I recognised him from there.

So Lana is really Lana and she used a clone to fake her own death? Fine, whatever. I would have preferred it if real Lana had died and a fake Lana-clone had come back to the show, maybe even an evil one. Now that would have been interesting! Alas, no such luck, we are still stuck with same old Lana. At least she was not that annoying in this episode. Lex apologising to her and telling her to kill him was actually a moving scene, I truly believe he meant every word of it. And I'm glad that the writers let Lex continue on his path of redemption a little bit longer. I also loved that Lana was not able to kill Lex. While I have no hopes for Lexana anymore, it was still gratifying to see that she could not off him in cold blood. And at least in this episode Lana was still in China and we did not have to suffer through another sappy barn scene. Of course with Lex telling her that she could come back to Smallville any time, this does not bode well for the future. The rebirth of Clana looms!

So overall, I thought this was quite an enjoyable episode and I'd love me some more Kara/Clark scenes, they are funny and interesting together!

I was really thinking this two. For a split second I was hopeing that clone Lana would be the new Lana and she would have superpowers and she would be bad ass and that the real Lana would be all dead and everyone would be happy! Though the trailer for next week indicates that "Lana has changed..."
      *sigh*

The episode rocked somewhat. I love Kara, though the actress maybe a bit to get use too, I really like her and Clark. Loved her going around picking up the kids, its so funny but just makes so much sense for her character. Clark pulling her legs and smashing her down was great. Everything between the two was really good, they had great chemstry together and I think it will be an eventful season. I really do.

Lois was knocked out two times this episode... Thats all I have to say. Not a fan of the new Editor, he seems to young, like a kid dressed in adult clothing... It just doesn't fit well, his voice and his body don't match and it kinda bugs me. Poor Chloe... Though Lois did have to join the Daily Planet sooner or later... But I just wish they had a different way with out hurting Chloe, she's gone threw so much.

I have a question... where is Jimmy? Aaron Ashmore is in the credits, yet we havn't seen or heard of Jimmy at all...

Now I really enjoyed that episode, and I agree with Cori, I liked it better than the premiere! I was soo leary about the Kara character coming in, but this episode totally put my wariness at ease - I really genuinely liked the character, and that NEVER happens to me when a new regular is thrown in so late in a series. I like how they explained her coming to earth - that she actually came when Clark did, and was awoken by the damn breaking...that was good and believable writing. I thought the actress did a good job with the portrayl, and I agree with everyone that the chemistry between her and Clark is good...I am looking forward to her storyline throughout the season.

Ok, it seems I'm the first Lana fan to post - but that WAS a kick-ass scene. Lana 'putting out the bread-crumbs' and luring Lex to China to kill him was brilliant...Lex really has rubbed off on Lana. I knew that he'd cloned her, he's a bit messed in the head that way - but I'm glad it's the real Lana that's alive and not the clone. I also knew that she faked her own death, but I agree with Lex, the way she did it was brilliant. I'm still glad that she hasn't gone completely to the dark side and was unable to kill Lex in cold blood. I'm sure all of this abuse by Lex has changed her, so I'm looking forward to see her character changes that will hopefully be displayed throughout the coming episodes.

My favorite line of the episode: "Here's everything I know, Lex. You need some serious psychiatry." Gotta love Chloe.

I agree with everyone else, the new editor is a bit of a dork. Didn't care for him at all...I like the result, though, of both Chloe and Lois working for the planet...that could be interesting.

This episode really has me excited for this season....I can not WAIT for next week...

I really liked this episode. I still loved the first episode more, but whatever

Well, I love Kara. I had my hopes not so up and was waiting for it to be cheesy and completely annoying. But, I actually loved her. Her snappy remarks and the whole crystal story is interesting. Want to see how that turns out! Plus, I really, really loved Clark teaching Kara how to use her superhearing. I thought it was amazingly shot with the noise overpowering her And I agree, her picking up the kids was incredibly hilarious! Her just asking their names!

Oh, Lana, Lana, Lana. To be honest, she was NOT annoying in this episode! Let's all jump for joy! I was very impressed with the Lexana scene, honestly. I thought the acting was really good and I loved that Lana could not shoot Lex, after all he's done! It was great, imo. But, still....it's Lana I mean, most of us got the clown thing right. But, I had my hopes up, like most of ya, that it would've been the clone that survived No such luck. But still, she's in China and Clark thinks she's dead. All is well

Next up, the new editor Bitch..... I really hated him! Not that he liked Lois, but because he was a complete jerk to Chloe and disrespectful but incredibly nice to Lois even before he read a single word she wrote! Chloe is ten times better, and I would hate to see Lois take away Chloe's spot and ruin their relationship. They're relationship is the best in the show, and this Mr. Editor Idiot Guy better not take that away

Basically, I really enjoyed this episode, much unlike "Sneeze", and cannot wait how Kara/Clark turn out with the, "She is more than you think" thing and about Lana....hopefully she's bad-ass when she comes back

Evil Clone Lana THAT would be awesomeness. I'm just hoping that same old Lana isn't the same old Lana anymore after that whole "being married to a psycho and faking own death" thing. If she's actually changed somehow after getting herself into that mess, I would actually be interested. (Next week's promo didn't entirely do it for me, though But they've made it sound like they're going in a direction I can at least appreciate a little) ... with my luck, they'll go for this new and improved darker Lana for awhile. And then go back to annoying unbearable (for me at least, no offense to Laurie ) Lana.

I think we found real Lana. No, wait for it...Clone!Lana got exploded, by ANOTHER clone!Lana who's been walking around China in ridiculous wigs. While real!Lana is walking around and being a hotshot journalist, disguised as one Mr. James "Jimmy" Olson. (Okay, I was so not serious, but wouldn't that be crazy )

How is it that Lana is the center of my post? Damn it.

JJ.....you rule.... That would be pretty awesome though! even though it won't happen /sigh

But! There's still hope! I really can't wait to see what they mean by "Lana's Not The Same Lana That Was Here Before"! I hope it means REALLY A CLONE or maybe ENTIRELY BAD-ASS! Whatever it is, I'm betting that it will be better than a idiotic Clana thing goin' on

You are like my own personal hero! Or at least saved my sanity. HIS VOICE was driving me insane with familiarity but he did not look like anyone I knew. Much less as Zach. But that's totally who he is or sounds like. Thank you!

That's what I was going to post!!! *pouts* Well except the Jimmy Olsen part. I guess that's why you're a Magician Detective and I merely a Master Magician Plummer. *shrugs*

Seriously though, I'm a bit disappointed that Lana set all that up for Lex to come kill her. Did she have that much of a death wish? If so why didn't she just hang around instead of concocting such an elaborate plan?

Yeah! Cookies for Chloe!!! *copyrights that slogan for later* What is the editor's deal with slamming Chloe and then lusting all over Lois. Just when I thought Chloe was going to get a little bit of respect from the show, they slam her back down. And Lois deserves more than just being rewarded on her looks. I hope next week is more fun with Lois and Chloe competing. A little competition between cousins can't be bad. Right?!

I am so loving Smallville this season. And like mentioned before Smallgirl *reads what she wrote, laughs at the goof* Supergirl has actually been pretty intriguing and interesting. I loved the Clark and Kara scene giving us backstory on the House of El family barbecues back on Krypton. I've never been so interested in the Superman story. Smallville really gives a warmth and realism to it.

                Lydia made the punch!

I know! I don't want Lois just moving up for doing nothing and Chloe being shoved done, because she's not "pretty enough" according to Mr. Poopy Pants But, she is pretty, too! If they fight, and Chloe WINS, I'll be happy

I totally agree about Supergirl. I couldn't have said it better, except the Smallgirl part
