  • Series finale! "The Bitch is Back"

    "Rob Thomas is a whore"

That pretty much sums up how I feel about this ending of the show--what a disappointment! I HATED what Keith did, I totally agree with Edsel Love about it being so disappointed to see Keith, who has always been such a moral center and stickler for the law (even to the point of his anti-underage drinking campaign), to destroy evidence--I was like "No, Keith, NO! What are you doing?!" I just think that's such an awful way for his character to end--and how will it help anyway, when the Kanes have VM's confession and such? And was it just me, or did Veronica actually vote for Vinnie? And why was Leo triumphantly brought back only to appear in one other epp for a second? Where was Cliffy when Keith told Weevil to talk to his public defender?! Why is Logan suddenly regressing so much as to beat up Piz without even getting the facts straight first. The OPJ I wanted to see was Logan beating up the rapist, not this! And while I got the whole "Veronica's a tramp again" picture, I didn't like the vid storyline much....it was nice to see Clarence and Jake Kane (didn't recognize you at first!) and Lily (probably the best commercial cliff-hanger of the season--I was like "whaaat--is that Lily?!) and Duncan....but too little too late. The scene of Veronica walking out in the rain was symbolic, but still annoying. THAT was the "glorious" LoVe scene? Please! I can't believe the show ends with V/P....I want to throw up!

So very disappointing....and RT is such a whore for doing this, and for not anticipating cancellation as he should of (or for doing this knowing he'd be cancelled).
Promise that you'll return to me.

I get what Keith did. I kinda thought he'd let Veronica face it, since he knows that she knows the score when she does things. But, my best friend pointed out, he's her dad, before anything else.

I didn't like it at first, but the more I've thought about it, the better I feel about this as series finale -- it kinda got back in touch with the noir.

I don't blame Logan for beating up Piz. It was the only reasonable conclusion to draw for someone without Veronica's powers, especially if the person drawing the conclusion is the son of a man who videotaped sex with girls. His apology at the end was sincere (to Piz), and I like to think that Piz understood, pain or not. Logan went out on a very OPJ note, beating up the mobster's kid with the devil may care attitude that made him famous.

I also think Veronica is super-hot with her P.I. badge

Kyle Secor looked rough -- was that a nod to the idea he went to prison? The Lily painting was a great moment. It's important that they connected Veronica back to her motivation for becoming who she is. It's also a nice reminder that Lily is still very much missing from Veronica. It's too bad that they couldn't get Amanda Seyfriend to come in, but I guess Big Love was shooting.

I was disappointed- only because it was a series finale. If it ended as a
season finale, then I'd be fine. I was hoping for closure. I am too depressed to share my detailed thoughts but I do agree with you KingofCretins- that VM got back in touch with the noir. It was nice to see Wallance and Weevil do favors for the 19 year old PI as well as Logan defend her honor. It was a great surprised to see Jake Kane, his butler () including pictures of Lily and Duncan. It for the first time, felt like VM from Season One. So I can take that with me and sleep well tonight.

I watched both eps this morning and was very pleasantly surprised! I will admit that as a series finale...not do cool. Nonetheless, I liked both eps.

-The Dick/Mac scene: awesome! I can't believe he tried to kiss her.
        -the nod to Lilly.
        -"Rob Thomas is a whore."
        -Veronica the bitch. Entertaining.

You could see where RT was setting up stuff for a following season. With Keith, of course, and with Gorey and his murderous ties and the threat to Logan...

Although it is sad to see Keith (presumably) lose the sheriff position twice. And I also didn't much like how Vinnie turned into a super scumbag. He used to be playfully mean but he has turned vindictive. I don't much like that.

Overall, I liked these eps. It just doesn't work as a series ending. But I enjoyed them more than I did most eps this season.

I actually thought these episodes were really great! Weevil! Wallace! Mac! Logan with NO Parker! YAY! Hated PiVe again and I can't believe it ended with them! The storyline, I thought, was really great. Veronica was hilarious. "You'll do all sorts of caring!" I love her! Jake Kane, CW aka butler, Vinny (who I HATE ) But overall, this was really great! BUT, HOW THE HELL CAN THEY END IT LIKE THESE!!!!???? That's insane. What a sucky end to an outstanding show. I am dissapointed. Very dissapointed. God, this is insane. Season finale? GREAT! Series finale? SUCKS! I hated the way they ended it. But at least I know the episodes themselves were great. I think when I rewatch it, I'll switch 3.15 with 3.20. That would be good

Yes, what an awful way for Keith's character to end, defending his daughter?that bastard, what will he do next? Lie for her? Gasp. Shock.

Yes Keith is a moral character, but Veronica comes first, do you not understand what would more than likely happen to her if he hadn't done that, or at least from what he knew what he thought would happen to her? He had images of Veronica in prison and/or jail, but yeah I'm sure any dad would choose being a lawful man over protecting his daughter. He didn't know that she had the blackmail on Jake, so what was he to do? Jake wouldn't have told about Veronica's confession because she had all that dirt on The Castle.

I love that they returned to their social status through Keith having to protect Veronica, it was a great way for it to happen rather than it just being ?Vinnie Won!', poor Mars' are thwarted again by trying to do a good thing.

Because Rob thinks ahead at times, and wanted to use him heavily next season with Keith, that would be why. I think that when Rob actually thinks ahead that he does good by it, and I would have loved to see him more next season. And would you have rather seen Leo over one of the main characters? That is what a lot of fans have been complaining about (including me) and I am glad that Rob fit them in the last two eps.

Are you even thinking of the same Logan that is on the show? Since when would Logan go about and ask Piz ?Hey did you or didn't you tape you and Veronica having sex?'? Logan is a shoot and ask questions later kinda guy, so how the hell can you be surprised by this? Logan loves Veronica, this did not go away when she left him and when he dated Parker, hell even Parker saw this, so why is regressing when he defends Veronica like he does? It isn't, it is just who he is. You would rather have an out of character Logan that doesn't beat up Piz just so over an in character Logan that did?

It was a very good way to bring Veronica back to the social status that she had in High School, and I would have loved to see Veronica's next year at Hearst.

The Lily break was great, and it was amazingly spooky and creepy, but I loved that there was a shout out to her, and that makes all three finales that she has appeared in one way or another, hehe.

How was it annoying? I really cannot see how that scene was annoying? maybe if you stopped trying to hate the show so much and stop using such trivial excuses to hate it then yeah it may not have been annoying. I will be the first to admit I was wrong about this show, I mean yeah it did have a big dip in disappointment, but these last two episodes were anything but disappointing. I would rather admit I was wrong than pretend that the finale wasn't as amazing as it was.

That scene spoke wonders and just because they didn't kiss doesn't mean that it wasn't great. The way that they looked at each other, no, the way she looked at him, you know that she will eventually see that Piz is just that rebound guy and will eventually go back to Logan. If Piz and Veronica broke up in this episode it would have felt more forced than their hook-up, so I don't think it is that bad that she is with him at the moment.

"Whoever you are, you're gonna die." "Yeah, some day." And then we get those little glimmers of hope. Yay!

There are a lot of things that I get at RT for doing, but this, well I applaud him for this, he didn't take it lying down, he stood up for his show and told them ?look, I am not going without a fight, if you wanna cancel my show you are going to piss off a lot of loyal fans' and as much as I would have loved some closure, I am glad that he stood up for his show.

I think I love you. Lol! Just kiddin' No but really, I was gonna write this out but you hit the nail on head already. The video tape hit very close to home for Logan and to see that this is the second time that somebody he loved was video taped while having sex and being sent around the internet (well the Lilly tapes never made it on the net), just sent him into a blind rage, and I am relieved to see that continuity in the show again.

Logan went out as he should have, he does have a devil may care attitude and no amount of character progression is going to change that, that is just who he is, and not even Veronica could change that and I truly think that she saw this in that last scene.

All in all, probably the best episode of the season I think, though ?Spit and Eggs' was really great also, but this final scene really sold it for me, I mean with the music and everything I was just a mess of emotion.

Same here! I think this was my favorite episode of the season too! Spit and Eggs was really awesome as well but more people had a storyline in these episodes. Wallace helped Veronica in a unique way, Mac in a not so unique way but she was still Mac. Logan did something good! Parker wasn't there! It just had better Veronica/Keith moments and the ensemble was better! Storyline's were better! And emotions! So much! Just a better episode in my opinion!

                My last ever VM review.

Old school! I think that's the best term to describe these two episodes. Both eps had a really nice season 1 feeling to them and I don't know about you but I absolutely loved this finale. I have been so disappointed in VM lately that I did not expect RT to pull something off like this. So I'm positively surprised and now even a bit sad that VM has been cancelled. Although I still would not have watched a season 4 that's based on Veronica as a FBI agent.

I loved the cameradie between Weevil and Veronica in episode 3.19. They make such great friends and their banter is always so damn hilarious. Weevil being in trouble again and Veronica helping him out, it just felt like the good old times. Weevil was so great and funny in ep 3.19, I'm glad that we got another ep which featured his character so prominently. I also thought that Weevil offering his help in the second ep to Veronica for finding out who was behind the sex tape was rather sweet. And I loved what he did to the car of that one fraternity guy!

Speaking of cameradie: I also enjoyed all the Veronica/Mac friendship scenes so much. These two are so funny together, especially when they make fun of typically girly stuff. It's so cool to get two female characters who are smart and sassy and care about more than boys and make-up but are still not humourless feminists, which I guess the following exchange between them demonstrates:

Mac: "Ms. Mars uses Venus razor."
Veronica: "Because if she doesn't, her legs look like Pluto."
Mac: "And she's down to earth to boot."

That just made me laugh a lot!

Of course I still hated seeing Piz and Veronica together, especially because I really don't get what she sees in him and how on earth she could be physically attracted to him. He is just not manly enough for my taste.

I loved the radio show with Vinnie, Keith and Piz, that was hilarious! Especially when Veronica hit Vinnie on the head, that was cool!

I also liked the Dick scenes throughout the ep. How he brought up Cassidy's death to Logan while Logan was on the phone with Parker was really quite unexpected. I'm glad that Dick is finally really dealing with his brother's death and his own feelings of guilt. Dick the emotional mess is certainly interesting to watch. The fact that Dick actually apologised to Mac at the beach for how he treated her and Beaver was really rather sweet. Of course he messed it up again by trying to kiss Mac. What was he thinking?

Speaking of the beach: I really loved those scenes. I loved that Veronica, Piz, Wallace and Mac were all hanging out together and how interesting things got once they ran into Logan and Dick. And of course Piz uttering the infamous "Rob Thomas is a whore!" line was just comedy gold! So maybe RT does occasionally read the message boards and has gotten wind of the fact how disappointed most VM fans have been in him lately and that the fans dislike him for catering to the network's needs so much just in order to keep the show on the air (the FBI thing, changing the name of the show, sacking all cast members apart from KB). At least RT is not afraid to make fun of himself, so I guess I gotta give him props for that.

Piz, Veronica and Logan sitting together at the beach was really awkward and I loved how Logan conveyed to Veronica how bitter and upset he still is about the break-up and that she is dating Piz now. I liked the following quote a lot:

Logan: "Hear that Veronica? The subtext? Piz worked for a living while I frittered my days away. Impressed?"

Awww bitter Logan just breaks my heart!

Another thing that was so old school and season 1-ish was Veronica getting pissed off at rich kids trying to rip off Hearst and then blaming an ex-con (aka Weevil) for it.

And yes the sex tape also reminded me of season 1, especially Logan's reaction to it. The shot of Logan bursting through the doors of the cafeteria and walking up to Piz's radio booth was just bloody awesome! :applause: And of course I loved that Logan beat the crap out of Piz (even if Piz turned out to be innocent in the whole sex tape thing), that was so gratifying and was definitely the highlight of ep 3.19 for me! Yeah I know I'm evil and twisted! :bigevil: Given Logan's history with seeing his ex-girlfriends having sex on video tapes, his anger and the violence it produced were completely understandable and made sense to me. Logan beating up Piz was totally in character and made me think of old school Logan, how he used to be in season 1. Ending the first finale episode with Logan having bloody hands and saying to Veronica "Veronica, there's something you should know" was fantastic and made me look forward to the second ep so much.

I'm so glad that Parker and Logan broke up. At least that relationship is no more, even if Piz and Veronica are still together at the end (but for how long? More on that below). Parker's line:

"Just so you know, the best way to show that you are still in love with your ex-girlfriend is to beat up her new boyfriend."

was great and quite perceptive for Parker.

Veronica walking into the cafeteria after the publication of the sex video and everybody snickering at her and her line "I'm right back in high school" were great. Pissed off Veronica on a crusade was certainly very entertaining to watch!

I have to say I did not really care that much about the whole Wallace/the Castle storyline but it was very sweet that he agreed to go undercover for Veronica and I was quite shocked what they did to him and the other pledges. I always knew that fraternities were evil but the Castle seems to be especially vile.

I just can't believe that Piz just took all the insults that people were throwing at him and Veronica in the cafeteria and that his solution is to retreat. I can't believe that he doesn't do anything about the entire situation! What a loser! :n:

When Veronica broke into the Kane mansion and that huge picture of Lilly suddenly appeared and Veronica's shocked look, that was just awesome! I loved the tie-in with season 1, which was of course intensified by Jake Kane and Clarence Weidmann both being in this episode as well. I had to laugh at Jake Kane's outburst when he found out that Veronica was the one who stole the harddrive.

I did feel very bad for Keith but I thought him destroying evidence in order to protect Veronica was very much in character. He always put Veronica's wellbeing above anything else, so his actions did not surprise me. Still, I feel bad that his character's storyline had to end this way.

The last ever LoVe scene ( ob: ) was way better than I expected. First Logan sincerely apologised to Veronica for beating up Piz. Then he wanted to beat up this Gory guy because he was threatening Veronica and Veronica held him back because Gory's family belongs to the mob. But then Logan started beating up Gory anyway with his typical devil may care attitude, that was pretty cool and you could tell that Veronica thought so too. When Gory said "Whoever you are, you're gonna die" and Logan smirkingly replied: "Yeah some day", I was cheering for Logan. Then he profoundly apologised to Piz as well and the look on Veronica's face when Logan did that was just so telling. You could tell that Logan's actions made her melt right there and she is definitely not over him and still has strong feelings for him. Luckily, Piz saw it too, which made me even happier. Even though Piz/Veronica are not broken up at the end of the ep, the season/series ends on an optimistic note for LoVe, which was more than I was expecting from RT to be honest. As a proud LoVe shipper, this made me very happy of course!

So all in all, these two eps were definitely among the (if not the) best of an otherwise very mediocre season. The goodness of the finale surprised me and made be at peace with VM, something which I haven't felt that much during the entire season. So I have to say, thank you RT for ending the show with dignity and style. Bye bye VM, it has been a fun and sometimes enfuriating ride and I'm glad that I took part in it!
