Who Would Play Them?

I was reading No Future For You yesterday and it got me thinking about who would portray these new characters if the comic books were transformed into a television season?

I'm talking about any new characters that have popped up at all from Leah and Renee to General Voll, Genevieve and Roden. Anybody you can think of who hasn't been seen before, who would they be played by?

I believe the Buffy boards said the girl who plays "Anna" on 'Chuck' (I don't watch the show myself) would be the fit for Satsu.

Renee would be.. a challenge I think.

The girl who plays Anna in "Chuck" is Julia Ling; she was actually *in* "Chosen" as the girl who stands up from her table when the Slayers are being activated around the world. However, she is ethnically Chinese, not Japanese, so perhaps she's not ideally suited -- it was a big kerfluffle when Ziyi Zhang played the title character in "Memoirs of a Geisha".

I would be interested in Kou Shibasaki -- she was slated to play Yuki Yubari, Go-Go's even crazier little sister in the "Kill Bill" movies, but the part was written out. She's 27, so she'd be able to play "younger than Sarah", so the scale is right.

Here's one picture that's been drawn over, but shows her in a very Slayer-ish context -- Kou Shibasaki, armed.

I think the last casting thread was pretty much consensus that "Supernatural"'s Lauren Cohan is the perfect Genevieve.

As the Slayer decoy from "The Chain," I instantly thought of Katie Cassidy when I first opened the comic. I see a certain likeness between the actress and the drawing, for some reason. She definitely looks the part in these pics. (she's the blonde getting her ass kicked or looking badass in a majority of those pictures). Maybe it's the body structure? Maybe it's the facial expressions? Maybe it's because I'm madly in love with her and her character on "Supernatural?" I do not know. But she's my pick for that role.

I like KingofCretins pick for Satsu but she looks slightly too old in some of the pictures I just looked up. I would go for Grace Park, of "Battlestar Galactica" fame, but she's too old for the role. And she's Korean but that doesn't really matter to me, honestly, since she resembles the drawings, in my eyes at least.

And I definitely agree with the general consensus that Lauren Cohan is the perfect Genevieve. She can act the part oh so well and she looks the part.

Now, are we allowed to discuss "Fray" casting choices in here, too? Because, if so, I've got Megan Fox (with less makeup, of course...) pinned for Melaka Fray. KingofCretins mentioned the idea previously and, when reading the comic for the first time, I couldn't shake that idea from my mind at all. The images bare a striking resemblance to Megan Fox that it astounds me.

I always thought Alan Dale (Neighbours, The OC, Ugly Betty) would make an awesome General Voll. He looks a lot like him and I can hear his voice in my head when reading Voll's dialouge.

Well for art I've done I've used:

Anneliese Van Der Pol as Leah
Alona Tal as Rowena
Ayaka Komatsu as Satsu
Rachael Leigh Cook as Unnamed Slayer/Buffy Decoy
Sofia Vergara as Lady Savidge
Rose McGowan as Fray

I think they all work have all kinda have features and acting styles that would work for the comic counterparts.

I have to agree with Heather for this one. Melaka Fray i can definitely see as Megan Fox. It's scary how much they resemble each other. She's a great actress to so i think she could play the part really well! We would not be dissapointed! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1669242112/nm1083271

And for Genevieve i think Lauren Cohen would do pretty good. She can play and look the part!

It would take some time for me to stop thinking, "OMG, Jim from Neighbours has gone evil!" But once I'd got over that... absolutely. He's great at playing nasty old men.
