  • Favourite Covers (Issues 1-12)

I'm just curious, what are your favourite covers that have been released to this date?

I love all of Jo Chen's works, especially for "Anywhere but Here." I also love her cover for #3 and #9 and the cover for the trade paperback for "The Long Way Home."
My least favourite ones of hers have to be #1 and #2.

    Should have a poll.
Think my favourite has to be #10. Also love #3 #5 and #6. I love the covers for 11 and 12 also.. the first Chen cover was pretty dull and a little odd looking, at least compared to how good she got at drawing Buffy.
For Georges I love #9 and #12, also #1, #5 (and the other #5 variant).. #10 isn't bad either. I've got each cover of Buffy at the moment.. taking up a lot of space though.

For those of you who do not remember the covers "right off the top of your head" (like me) here's a link to Dark Horse Comics to the page with all the covers and their variants...

      ALL BtVS COVERS

      So with that in mind...

      I would go with
      Chen: #1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10
      Jeanty: #1, 2, 5, 9, 12

So far I'm not partial to Foster's work... I may switch and collect Jeanty for a while.

Foster's "A Beautiful Sunset" looks pretty good, but "Wolves at the Gate" uh....
I love his use of colours, honestly, he knows how to make anything aesthetically pretty. But he doesn't excel in capturing the characters as Jo Chen can.
I'm still gonna purchase these covers as opposed to the Jeanty variants, simply because I love portrait paintings as covers (regardless if they're good or not )

Best covers so far have been 2,5,6, and 8. The Chen covers of course, they are truly awesome. It is really hard to top those. The only non-Chen one I think comes close is 11. It is a really well done cover.

I really dislike the covers for 12 and 11. I don't dislike 11 as much, but 12 just kinda sucks, and it maybe the first time ever I choose the varient cover over the original. Cause at least the varient cover is good to look at.

All of Jo Chen's covers kinda rock. My favorite would either be 9 or 3. Both are just amazing, and the character likness is just always there.
As for the varient covers, even though I don't collect them (I like the portrait versions alot better like Weredog said) but number 10 really does looks stunning.

I hope Jo Chen returns for the last few covers, cause I just don't like where Jon Foster is taking the covers.

Didn't someone mention in this forum that Foster is doing the covers for the entire "Wolves at the Gate" issues?
I won't mind him doing so, maybe he can impress us in a fashion Jo Chen wouldn't be able to do. But in the end, yup, I want Chen back.
