  • Creepiest Episode?

What was the creepiest episode in your opinion. Some episodes could give x-files a run for its money
For me is was Hush. The idea in not being able to speak gives me the willies and the 'gentlemen' as just down right freaky. The bit where one of them hands the other the scalple sticks in my head...always smiling......shudder

    Hush, i agree with.
But i always find the opening scene to The Puppet Show, really creepy. Maybe it's because I was so young when i first watched it. The distorted music and visuals, and the creepy voice, gets me.
I think real creepiness comes from moments when someones walking down a dark street, and you know something bad's gonna jump out... you know the cheesy terror mostly.

    hehe.

I think the nature, the look, and the circumstance of the demon in Same Time, Same Place is the creepiest in the series. Hush is up there, too.

I'll go with Hush ... those gentlemen freak me out. But also Passion is for me high on the list, with Angelus hunting, the voice over and the artistic way of killing. You could feel that one of the scoobies would die that episode.

Oh yeah! Passion is reaaally scary. I don't know why i forgot about it... probably because of it's scariness, heh.
Thats one of the reasons why i rarely watch Passion. It's a bit untouchable in my eyes, in terms of it's drama as well as it scariness.

Hard for me to choose between Hush and Same Time, Same Place - for the reasons everyone else has given.

Hush is just so generally creepy - the *silence* of the ep puts it right over the top! And The Gentlemen are *so* creepy.

But, STSP is an AH masterpiece and one of my favs, the *helplessness* on Willow's face and the *slicing*.........ew.......very, very creepy.

I find that like most of you, Hush is the episode that's really creepy.
It's not just the silence, but the musical score makes it so dramatic and the way The Gentlemen float about and have the fixed smiles makes them dead creepy and then those horrible guys that run along with them are just freaky.
The best bit of this for me is at Giles' house and Olivia is watching from the window and see's them near by and as she's watching one at the house nearby, one floats by right in front of the window. One of the real jumpy moments.

I'm a huge horror fan and therefore am very desensatised to it, so I don't find a lot of episodes actually creepy, but Hush is like a mini horror film and better than a lot of horrors I've seen.
'Don't you know that all my heroes died.
And I guess I'd rather die, than fade away."

Hush is definitely tops but I myself was extremely creeped out by Killed by Death. I personally found the villain creepy and the fact children saw him right before they died was heartbreaking and I just felt the terror right with them. And that being so defenseless because you are so weak from sickness, so you can't escape, can't fight back. *shudders*

Oh gosh, i completely forgot about Killed By Death... veerryy scary, for the same reasons listed above. And the demon was just really terrifying visually.
I think i mentally block out scary episodes...

Fear, Itself is definitely up there for me. I had a recurring nightmare as a child that I was in a house but every time I opened a door it led somewhere different and I couldn't get out, so probably that one is just scary for me!

Yeah, Hush has been mentioned, but is definitely a creepy episode. But I can't believe no one has mentioned CWDP. I mean, seeing Joyce on the couch and everything creeped me out the first time I saw it....

                        passion
                        killed by death
                        hush
                        villains
                        same time, same place
                        conversations with dead people
                        billy
                        calvary
                        inside out

i would say der kindestod tops my list of truly creepy demon makeup/creepy music sound effects. can we say 'eye suckers'?

passion, billy, calvary and inside out all have either creepy stalker/chase scenes or the robert j. kral creepy piano music (still want that released) killing of the virgin/darla imager.

                        villains has skinless warren flaying.

creepiest part of conversations, imo, is the mariachi music.

i'd say the creepiest demon awards go to der kindestod and the gentlemen.

I have to say it's Hush for me. Those "gentleman" were creepy and the music too!! I was holding my breath the entire episode, it was scary.

And I agree with LRae12 here CWDP was scary for me too.

Yeah I thought 'CWDP' was very freaky too. I like that they didn't make a big effort of showing Joyce's body and just had it in the background for all those who did catch it. I also liked the "mother's milk is red today" line, that was very creepy.

Oh man I had forgotten about that, very scary stuff! Still doesn't beat Fear, Itself for me but it's very high up there now.

I enjoyed 'Fear Itself' a lot as well, it was quite a good episode. Even if the Parker moping was already getting on my nerves Seriously, it makes sense Buffy would be upset, and I know she was only dealing with it for like, what, two episodes? But it felt like an eternity for some reason.

I really enjoyed the scene where Willow does her spell and the light begins to multiply and attack her, it was quite scary actually and kinda of showed the dangers in magic. I think it was brilliantly shot and acted, I especially enjoyed the effects of the balls of light going into her mouth as she screamed for help.

I also really enjoyed the flashes of light as everyone is being traumatised up in the party area, and the girl's face changing subtlety into a smile in between the flashes of light.

In fact, it was quite a well directed episode, loved Oz sitting in the bathtub and Buffy lying on the ground as the frat guy with the broken neck commented on her being alone.

Quite a good ep all round

Hush. That ep is super creepy, especially the scene where Olivia is looking at the window and one of the Gentlemen appear. That scares me everytime.
Same Time, Same Place is also creepy because of the demon when he is eating Willow?s flesh and she is laying there awake but paralised. It?s a sense of impotence and helplessness.

i debated this for a while. and i was originally going to go with hush... but i keep coming back to conversations with dead people... omg, seeing joyce like that... the creepy lines (mother's milk is red today)... the mariachi music... not only that, but the first disguised as cassie, when it tried to talk willow into killing herself. i remember the first time i watched that, you were so into it and i really thought willow was getting some message from tara... then it just changed. i think its far creepier than hush.

so convos with dead people for me, but since it isn't up there, hush
Oz: Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage.
