  • Buffy And The Emmys

Buffy The Vampire Slayer have been nominated for 14 emmys and won 2.
My question is: which is, for you, the three Emmy nominations BtVS deserved the most except for acting nominations?

    I'll start.

    - Outstanding Direction for a Drama Series:
    Joss Whedon for The Body
For me, this would be the most-deserved nomination for BtVS, the direction is breath-taking and probably the best I ever saw in a TV Show.

    - Outstanding Writings for a Drama Series:
    Joss Whedon for The Body
The writings are also amazing, harsh but touching, strong and simple, I'm still haunted by the "We're not supposed to move the body".

    - Outstanding Music Composition for a Series:
Robert Duncan for The Final Fight
Strong, epic, beautiful. I can't think of Chosen without thinking of that song.

Lead Actress In A Drama Series:
Sarah Michelle Gellar for The Body

And I'm so with you on the The Final Fight. I love that piece, I play it often on iTunes.

Buffy won en Emmy? Or Emmys? I did not know that. I mean, I knew she was nominated for 'Hush' But didn't know she actually won... I also remember reading about her not winning any awards :S

Outstanding Writings for a Drama Series:
        Joss Whedon for Innocence

        Directing for a Drama Series:
        Joss Whedon for Innocence

This episode is his underrated masterpiece IMO. This episode has everything what the series has. Angst, humor, action and beautiful conversations. Everytime I see this episode, I'm impressed by the fantastic writing and directing. Only the morning after scene with the cruel Angelus and poor Buffy deserves an Emmy, the scene is heartbreaking and a great introduction for one of the best villians in the TV world.
This one beats every other Joss episode ... well, it beats every other Buffyverse episode. If I want to watch a great episode, I prefer 'Passion', but that doesn't change that 'Innocence' is a much better written and directed episode.

        And:

        Cinematography for a Multi-Camera Series:
        for Passion

This episode has beautiful lighting and the filming is outstanding. It's beautiful ...

Well, actually, the song from Becoming is one of the two Emmy wins, that and Best Makeup for Surprise/Innocence.
