  • Favorite Episode So Far?

I figured after wrapping up the finale of "No Future For You," I'd ask you guys and poll you on your favorite episode so far. I personally am in LOVE with "No Future For You," and it easily makes to be one of my favorite Buffy episodes dating back to as far as "Dirty Girls." Brian Vaughn excellently placed Faith's voice in the dialog and the mix and blend of action, drama, suspense and comedy has made it a top 25 episode for me.

I also thoroughly enjoyed "The Long Way Home," and "The Chain.." However, I don't think they have reached the caliber that this episode did.. But I'd say the the ending of "The Chain" really touched me in a sense that was unrecognized.. and I think the episode as a whole is under-appreciated. Would anyone else agree?

    Anyway..

    Elaborate:
    26
    8.01- The Long Way Home
    7.69%
    2
    8.02- The Chain
    15.38%
    4
    8.03 No Future For You
    76.92%
    20

I voted for No Future for You! It was an excellent story! Brian did a marvelous job writing for Buffy. I was familiar with his writing from LOST (The Brig) and felt he would do something "different" with Buffy and he didn't let us down!! I am so proud he brought such a bang-up story to Season 8!!

I like the way the story ended - leaving us with much to look for in the future! Perhaps they will let each writer finish his/her "arc"!

I've enjoyed all three episodes. However, 'No Future For You' has best the best thus far. It has a lot to talk about, brings up some really interesting questions and sets the stage for something bigger. It was a great episode, I'd agree it was one of Btvs' best.

NFFY. Not even close. And I agree that it's worth considering as one of the very best Buffy episodes.

No Future For You. I still haven't read part four but I can't wait. And the other parts have been funny, moving, layered, pacey and...dude, they had Doctor Who and Alan Moore in them. What more can anyone ask from life?

But I did enjoy The Chain, too, especially for the questions it raised/dealt with viz the slayerisation spell...though I did want more on that, it did at least start to explore what it means that all these girls have become slayers in the way that they did.

I'm actually going to be editing my Top 20 to include 8.03 "No Future For You"*... and guys, it landed at #8 on my all-time best Buffy episodes. "Prophecy Girl" just got bumped to the second ten.

You have a top twenty?? I'm not sure I even have a top five. They change so often...but No Future For You is definitely part of that rotation now

No Future For You. It was easy to follow, it made me like Faith, it had character conflicts (Giles and Buffy), and of a shallow note it had topless Xander.

I think it's the best Faith episode so far.

Another vote for "No Future for You" coming from over here.

This arc actually felt like a Buffy episode, whereas "The Long Way Home" was very jumpy, over the top, tongue in cheek and "The Chain" was just different. Although I do prefer "The Chain" over the first arc, it dealt with very strong issues.
"No Future for You," on the other hand, was spectacular. It had very, very few faults, one of them being part 3 was a quick read: it spent most of its panels displaying actions. 4.5 stars out of 5! Stellar job, Vaughn!! I want him to come back!

No Future For You... visceral drama from one of the best characters when it comes to conflict, both internally and with other characters. This really had it all for Faith, looking at her relationships with Buffy, Giles, Wilkins, a Slayer fairly similar to herself, even Wood. Would have been one of the most exciting and gripping things on television, had it been made.

I'm sure it would have been amazing on television, but don't discredit it because it's a comic.. it's still a Buffy episode.. and the best episode since "Dirty Girls."

No Question. No Future For You was amazing. I was totally hooked. I liked The Long Way Home, and I liked The Chain, but, this one drew me in like the others hadn't, I felt it was a rounder story.

I agree that it would've been great to see Eliza Dushku act this arc out (ie. bath scene ). However, this episode would never have been produced had there been an actual televised season 8. Even though "No Future for You" is a comic, I still thought it was exciting and gripping. Possibly because it's a comic. Whedon, Vaughn and Jeanty made it exciting and gripping. They should be praised for it.
