  • Top 20 Episodes

We had a thread dedicated to this at BW, but that was a long time ago. Now it's time to make new lists and update our opinions on what we consider the top twenty Buffy episodes to ever exist. If you can, try to explain why some of them are your favorites (the usual ones are fine, but the ones people wouldn't expect and your number 1)

    Here is my list:

    20 The Wish
    19 No Place Like Home
    18 Dirty Girls
    - I absolutely loved this episode the first time I saw it. For season seven, it's a very dark area to approach, and was meant to do that in order to capture the bad guys losing aspect. I loved the reality of the episode, in that people will die and Slayers can make mistakes. Plus, Faith came back... which is always great
    17 When She Was Bad
    - Another episode I feel is highly underrated and should regarded of a higher status. This episode is probably one of the lowest points I've seen Buffy outside of season six. Whatever kind of dreams she'd been having, they must have been absolutely terrifying. I love the relationships between the characters, and how they mold back together after everything's said and done. I also loved the final scene with The Master's bones. Very moving episode. Great job by Joss.
    16 Prophecy Girl
    15 Once More, With Feeling
    14 Fool For Love
    13 The Body
    12 Touched
    11 After Life
    - One of the brilliant episodes of season 6 that once again is overlooked. Aside from Dead Things, probably the darkest episode Buffy's ever gone to. There's hardly any fight scenes, and mostly just dialogue, which I loved. The entire episode was oozing with atmosphere, and Spike's speech is priceless. The final scene combined with all of this proved to be a groundbreaking episode that just misses the top 10.
    10 Who Are You?
    09 Angel
    08 Doppelgangland
    07 Helpless
    - This episode is surprisingly my favorite of season 3. The reason for this is because I love love LOVED the Giles Buffy interaction, and it showed the love he had for her deep inside him. I think it was one of the most terrifying episodes they've done simply because Buffy is helpless for once. I truely fell in love with this episode after the last time I watched it, and regard it up there with the big ones.
    06 Dead Things
    - I can't describe in words what I felt when I first saw this episode. At this point, Buffy could have been on HBO if they wanted. Probably darkest hour television I've ever witnessed in my life, and I loved every second of it. The entire season was about bringing characters down to their lowest, and this episode tied an anchor to Buffy's foot. The entire first dialogue with Spike shows Buffy in an entire different context. The balcony scene. The ending scene with Tara. All this plus the Trio's story, there was NOTHING happy about this episode.
    05 Conversations With Dead People
    04 Becoming (Part II)
    03 The Gift
    02 Passion
    01 Restless
    - In my opinion, the best piece of writing Joss has ever delivered. The entire episode is once again oozing with atmosphere, and filled with metaphors and ideas that are to this day still looked upon for future references. Acting is superb, and the dreamscapes make the episode even more of cloudy mysterious episode. Thank you for this episode Joss.

yeah, we make these lists all of the time...but it's fun, and mine is ever-changing...

    1. Tabula Rasa - I'm just a sucker for the funny
    2. Something Blue - ditto
    3. Pangs - yeah, gotta say, still with the funny
    4. Innocence - moving into the drama, but oh so good there.
    5. Once More With Feeling - classic
    6. Hush - So totally original and completely hilarious!
    7. Dopplegangland - loved this eppy, great writing, acting, and of course the humor!
    8. Helpless - This episode just makes me cry every time I watch it and I love the father/daughter ship in this
    9. Passion - Is an explanation really needed?
    10. Becoming 2 - ditto
    11. Fool for Love - I love seeing into Spike's background, and his poor pitiful face in the alley made me totally fall in love with this character.
    12. Crush - Again, I loved delving into Spike's psychie in this ep.
    13. After Life - This episode was so sweet - Spike's face when Buffy came down those stairs and he realized it was really her - some really great acting here by James...
    14. Halloween - All around fun episode - I loved seeing all of the insecurities in the gang
    15. Normal Again - This episode was freakin' fantastic...I loved the ending that Joss & Co left us with here...that could she really be in an institution and has been the entire time? Great writing and really original idea.
    16. Buffy vs. Dracula - I know this one will be a shocker to everyone, but I love this eppy. The great pun of Stoker's tale - especially with Xander - was classic...the humor has me in stitches every time I watch it. Totally underrated.
    17. Beneath You - Most of the episode is just hum-drum...but the church scene makes up for it and is one of my favorite performances in the entire series.
    18. The Body - Not that it's an episode that I want to watch repeatedly, but the writing is so good and the acting is out of this world that it merits a top-20 spot...
    19. I Only Have Eyes for You - a very heartbreaking episode...makes me cry everytime I watch it, and I loved the story in this one.
    20. Beer Bad - yes it makes my top 20...I love the hilarity of this episode...the plot is cringe-worthy, but the incredible performance by SMG totally sells this cheesy episode and has me in stitches every time I watch it.

Okay, took some doing but here's the list. I imposed a rule for myself under which I would only include one out of any two-parter -- and in so doing found I don't think any of the three I left out would have gotten into my Top 20 other than by being attached to the other part of the episode anyway.

        20. Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered -- when I think of whacky Buffy humor, this is the episode I think of.

        19. Fool For Love -- "Interview with a Spike" had such great direction and cinematography, and gave Spike's character a sense of history and relevance that he hadn't always had in Season 4 and Season 5.

        18. The Wish -- What a delight of a twist on "It's a Wonderful Life", dark and sexy and funny. Mark Metcalf is a great guest star. Nick and Alyson get a chance to have a lot of fun, and killing off all the characters in a parallel universe was pretty daring for a genre show.

        17. Revelations -- This is always such an underrated episode. Great character stuff for Buffy, Xander, Faith, and Giles. A very realistic look into how a close-knit group has to deal with inner drama and betrayal. The coolest magical artifact they made up for the show, ever. One of the best villain of the weeks and twists they ever pulled off either with Gwendolyn Post.

        16. Tabula Rasa -- Really, an amnesia episode is a huge TV cliche. But you don't see it done this well. I love that they included the shot of everyone screaming. As a recapper once asked, 'when did we get so blase about vampires?' Also, the best use of licensed music in any Buffy episode, and definitely of the Bronze conceit.

        15. No Place Like Home -- Another underrated episode. It is really an archetypal Buffy episode -- big danger, big humor, big mystery, big emotion. All the rules changed in Buffy's life in this episode. Introduced the still-most-talked-about villain. Hysterical non-verbal acting from Sarah (the costume staredown with Giles, her trying to figure out "hand over fist").

        14. Two to Go -- One of the most intense wall-to-wall episodes with tension and action, and the very *idea* of Buffy vs. Willow was so incredible. Their fight, and more amazingly, the moments before their fight, are one of the few times a Buffy viewer has almost no choice but to sit on the edge of their seat.

        13. Chosen -- Some will call this too low. Perhaps its because there is so much in it. The fighting sequence was great, the return to the female power message was perfectly conceived. Great small character relationship moments, like Buffy, Willow, and Xander walking through the school hallway.

        12. Conversations with Dead People -- the last truly *scary* episode of Buffy on TV. If you weren't sitting up wondering what was going on maybe even shivering a bit, you weren't doing it right Still a shame that they didn't come up with a conversation for Xander, though.

        11. Graduation, Part I -- Best fight scene ever in the televised seasons, and so well designed with the stakes being what they were. Oz and Willow 'panicking', Xander doing what Xander does, being afraid of 'losing' Buffy. Another wall-to-wall exciting episode.

        10. Prophecy Girl -- an episode this iconic can't be overlooked. Still some of the best dramatic acting Sarah ever did on the show when she broke down over the news of the prophecy.

        9. The Body -- one of the four most "experimental" episodes they ever did, and all four are in the top 10. The decision to go without music made it so tense, there was no letting up. Every actor brought their very best out of it, and every single character got a chance to shine and add a little bit of insight into who they really are.

        8. Selfless -- very high for a character sketch, but it was just awesome in its scope. Best flashback use on the series, including "Fool For Love". Emma Caulfield was simply exquisite. We got a good Scooby confrontation, which are good to show and realistic.

        7. Hush -- Just amazing stuff. Invent a fairytale and turn it into TV. Does Buffy, or television, get better than the silent Scooby meeting? Also, great romantic moment with Buffy and Riley's first kiss. And, best of all, this was *scary*. Buffy is an action-horror-comedy-drama, but there's no question which of those four gets ignored the most.

        6. Who Are You? -- Yet another very underrated episode. The insights we got into both Buffy and Faith are just exquisite, and moving. Not to mention Sarah and Eliza both doing exceptional jobs of capturing each other's performances. The credits even say "and Eliza Dushku as Buffy"

        5. The Gift -- WOW. Not an episode to watch if you've only just really gotten invested in the show and you've been awake for about 30 hours. The teaser for this episode is, to me, the absolute best scene they ever shot for the series. It just sums up the whole show perfectly. Epic battle that they didn't cheat their way through (much -- Hammer of Retcon). Just great drama and suspense and action. Great character moments for Buffy and Willow, Buffy and Spike, Xander and Anya, Buffy and Giles.

        4. Becoming, Part II -- Second best one on one fight they ever did. Still probably the most talked about and debated episode. Huge developments for so many of the characters -- Buffy making the sacrifice, Xander making the hard choice, Willow doing the spell. Just so much drama and heartbreak and action, and enough questions to fuel nearly a decade and counting of discussion.

        3. Once More, With Feeling -- the episode had its own trailer, so Joss must have known what he had in this one. Lightning in a bottle, some might say. Making the singing the plot was brilliant ways to do it. Every actor brought real passion to their performance and their singing, even if they weren't all technically great.

        2. Innocence -- This episode is really the best they ever did with regard to the premise of demons and slaying being metaphors for actual things you go through growing up. There's not much one can add to how cool this episode was -- Willow busts Xander on Cordy, Xander's suspiciousness of Angel pays off, there's a rocket launcher, there's humor, there's pain, there's action, there's fun. Joss thinks it's the best episode they ever did.

        1. Restless -- but I don't Nostalgia stated it pretty well. There are just so many insights into who the four main characters really are, as well as signals that map out the next three seasons for each of them. All the actors really commit to the illusion, and the surreality of being figures in each others' dreams. And, of course, we get Buffy restating why she is the greatest of the Slayers in her confrontation with the First Slayer. Also a fantastic score.

This is a few months old, but I refer to it often. Need to rewatch and update

And Dan, can I state how much I agree with you? "But, how? You're just a girl!" "That's what I keep saying."

              1. The Gift - What can I say? I just love it. And to quote Dan: WOW! The huge battle, the Tillow, the Spike scene in the house (and I HATE Spike, but I love the scene! Insane, huh?), Buffy's love for Dawn, the teaser, Glory taunting Dawn, Glory's stupidity, the proposal, all of it! It rules....all. Best televised episode in my mine....ever.
              2. The Body - SO underrated! These are the best performances that these actors have ever produced. Joss writes his best script ever (imo) and shows death in such a horrifying way, or to word it better, the way it is. The lack of sad music just shows how real it is. Especially in the end fight. We always have music in a fight. This fight was gruesome and, dare I say, scary.
              3. Becoming Part 2 - A truly fantastic episode as all these episodes really are. It's written so well, and Sarah and David shine through! The end battle is one of my favorite fights in the show! It's so nice to have a sword fight! Willow doing the spell, "Kick his ass," "wear a tutu", Buffy/Spike alliance, all of it! Superb!
              4. Restless - I am not gonna repeat what has been said.
              5. Innocence - Pretty self-explanatory.
              6. Graduation Day Part 2 - LOVE it! The end scene where the school stands up and fights together and is one of the best. Plus, Buffy taunting the Mayor in snake form? Priceless! I just wish I could include it's counterpart, but solely for the end fight, because it's the best fight I have ever seen.
              7. Who Are You? - Sarah and Eliza rule all. "Because it's wrong" develops so much in this episode, it's not even funny. I love it.
              8. Primeval
              9. Conversations With Dead People - Agreeing with Dan! Amazing episode! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it all
              10. Selfless
              11. Hush
              12. The Wish
              13. Enemies
              14. Prophecy Girl
              15. Normal Again
              16. Grave
              17. Becoming Part 1
              18. Tabula Rasa
              19. Doppelgangland
              20. Dirty Girls - I think this is a strange one, so I'll comment. I love Faith's return and Buffy and Faith's reunion, so to speak. It was great. The end fight was terrifying, yet amazing. Caleb is one of my favorite villains! So sadistic, and his end speech is pretty amazing.

              WORTHY MENTIONS:

              Spiral
              This Year's Girl
              Revelations
              No Place Like Home
              Intervention
              Consequences
              Blood Ties

It's always interesting to see how different and varied people's lists are. Gingerbread, Triangle, Crush...all in someone's top 20, ones a lot of people would never even consider.

I'm not sure how 'in order' I can get these but I'll give a list a try as well. As you can see, seasons 2 and 4 are faves and there's also some of season 6 I really like. Part of me just wants to say 'Well, all of season 4!' but I tried to think of the other seasons as well. The last 4-5 were tricky and there are probably a few eps that could have been in their place.

                1. Restless (my #1, the only one I'm sure about)
                2. Primeval
                3. Passion
                4. Becoming part 2
                5. Halloween
                6. Innocence
                7. Fear, Itself
                8. Surprise
                9. Who Are You?
                10. Anne (totally underrated, I like Lily and KickAss!Buffy)
                11. Entropy
                12. Villains
                13. Seeing Red
                14. Once More, With Feeling
                15. Hush
                16. Prophecy Girl
                17. The Prom
                18. Where the Wild Things Are (underrated as well, I never got the hate for an ep where there's so much to love!)
                19. Life Serial
                20. The Freshman

                    In no particular order at all, just as they came to me;

                    1) Dopplegangland: The best comedic episode of the series IMO. Every scene was so tight, so well directed, scripted and acted. Alyson shone in this episode, and every actor was right on the money.

                    2) Becoming Part 1 & 2: The drama. The final fight scene had so much, the heartbreak, the hillarious Dru run up battle cry, Buffy's determination, as well as other great moments in the episodes with Kendra's death and Xander's hard and controversial decision.

                    3) Graduation Day Part 1 & 2: I agree with King, best fight scene in the series ever without a doubt. So freakin exciting and amazing to watch and I love when Buffy stabs Faith and the reality of what she has done hits home. I also get shivers seeing the class of 99 stand up a fight, truly epic and amazing.

                    4) The Gift: Heartbreaking, beautiful opening scene, wonderful epic battle, the great scene with Giles killing Ben, Willow attacking Glory, and obviously Buffy jumping and hey didn't even hate the Spuffy scene in this episode.

                    5) Two to Go: Buffy Vs Willow, what more can I say? Ok this episode had a fair bit of filler, but it is made up for in that great scene when Willow lists everything wrong with Buffy's life to her, and then of course the showdown between Buffy and Willow.

                    6) Innocence: Turning point for Btvs without a doubt, easily best metaphor, Angelus just rocked as a character and Buffy kicks him in the balls. Plus the final two scenes, the first with Buffy and Giles in the car, then with Buffy and Joyce in the home are two of the best scenes ever in Btvs. Plus hallway scene, just cool.

                    7) Who Are You?: Wonderful episode, loved the way SMG and Eliza played their different roles and it was just an amazing insight into both characters. "Because it's wrong"- just great.

                    8) Passion: Horribly sad episode, great and moving soundtrack, IMO Angelus was truly scary here, heartbreaking scene to see Willow breakdown on the phone, Giles kicked ass attacking Angelus, iconic scene of Dru and her puppy standing in the doorway of the original magic box.

                    9) Dirty Girls: When I saw this episode I think I must have watched it about thirty times in the week between this ep and "Empty Places." I was so exicted, actually proud of the annoying potentials when the fight at th end began because it was the first time we saw them kick ass. Caleb brought some much needed energy to the show, Faith is one of my favourite characters ever so she was just great and Xander eye plunge was a pivitol but horribe moment for his character.

                    10) Enemies: Just loved it, one of Angel's coolest moments "Second best" and loved Buffy's "They have a word for people like you Faith; loser" haha that's my little trooper.

                    11) The Body: Just great everything, nothing more to say.

                    12) Hush: Very scary, despite what people say of Ruffy great first kiss, and just very nice episode.

                    13) Restless: We get a real insight into our characters here, you could talk about this episode forever.

                    14) Prophecy Girl: Iconic episode Btvs, SMG was just superb, we saw the potential this show really had.

                    15) Chosen: Very exciting, I had shivers the whole time. Buffy just rocked in this episode as did the scoobies, they were the way they should have been all season and season six.

                    16) Revelations: I just really like this episode, don't particularly know why.

                    17) Fool For Love: Great insight into Spike.

                    18) The Freshman: Lots of people don't like this episode but I really do. I feel for Buffy and connect with her here, exactly how I felt when starting university. Great fight scenes and Sunday kicked ass.

                    19) The Prom: The final scene with Buffy being awarded the class protector award blew me away.

                    20) Bad Girls: Really fun episode, just love the "Rise and shine people" "it's you're wake up call" cut to Buffy and Faith dancing in the Bronze.

This is how I am feeling right now. Yes, my top four choices are all highly overrated episodes in the eyes of many. And I think they are too. But I still can't help that I find them superior to all. I think they are amazing.

                      20. Restless such an interesting departure and intriguing glimpse into the psyches of the Scoobies
                      19. The I In Team hey, I like it.
                      18. The Gift A little too overrated, imo, but a good solid episode nonetheless
                      17. Into The Woods Don't care what y'all think; I think it's awesome in lots of ways.
                      16. The Body what a superb concept, to leave an episode about the loss of a loved one completely void of music. It's makes it so haunting and real.
                      15. Surprise
                      14. The Yoko Factor
                      13. Lover's Walk
                      12. Doomed Again, don't care what y'all think! I really like it. Apocalypse Againish. That's what I call it!
                      11. Life Serial
                      10. Entropy Underrated, imo. There's a lot of good in there.
                      9. End Of Days There is so very much I love about this episode. One aspect being all the Anya/Andrew goodness. Funny and moving. And the nice Buffy/Spike moment is also good.
                      8. Out of My Mind I know it is a hated ep among many fans but it's always been a fave of mine!
                      7. Smashed I will concede the Willow/Amy stuff is a little annoying but I truly enjoy all the rest of this episode. The Spike with the Trio scenes, Buffy in The Magic Box with Anya And Xander and the "Captain Peroxide"
                      6. Chosen A fine finale; it may have its flaws but the score makes up for all of that. That damn music makes my eyes all teary!
                      5. Intervention I just love it. Back off and leave me alone!!
                      4. Tabula Rasa
                      3. Something Blue Don't care, I love it. The first time I saw it it went down in history in my soul.
                      2. Once More, With Feeling
                      1. Hush The Gentlemen are the best MotW ever! And this episode flows so well for one that is merely bookended in dialogue. How amny other shows can pull that off?

Okay i'm gonna try and figure this out as i go but how i feel right now would probably be:

                        20. Beer Bad. Okay i know but it's so funny.
19.The pack. NB is superb here. Love it.
                        18.Afterlife. Seriously creepy.
                        17.Doplegangland. Sooo funny.
16.The Zeppo. For the self mockery and 'I like the quiet'.
                        15.Something Blue. Hehehehehehe.
14.Graduation Day pt 1. Mainly for the Buffy v Faith fight but also for Buffy's graduation from the council and Giles standing right behind her.
13.Whats my Line pt 2. Norman Pfister, UberDru and again that epic sense
                        12. Surprise. Mainly for the ubercool ending.
                        11. Prophecy Girl. For Buffy's speech to giles if for nothing else.
10.The Wish. Hello darkness my old friend.
9.Tabula Rasa. Again the switch from LOL to the hugely emotional ending
                        8. Once More With Feeling. Hate Musicals, love this. Great darkness under the funny.
7.Villains. Dark Willow. Flaying. Nuff said.
                        6.The Body. Breathtaking
5.Hush. Another slice of what Buffy does best, mixing really dark with really funny without lessening either.
4.I only Have Eyes For You. Great acting and tragic romance that's played just right
3.Selfless. Angst, comedy, a big & meaningful fight what more do you want
                        2.Passion. Epic, simply epic.
1.Two to Go. Buffy v Dark Willow, 'I'd like to test that theory' yup does it for me.
                        JUST ENOUGH KILL

                          Well Here goes everything
                          20) This Years Girl: Faith and Buffy as each other? Breath takingly clever and brilliant performances by both actresses
                          19) The Yoko Factor: The scoobies fighting? Giles drunk? Spike evil(Ok that ones a given). totally unexpected and cool
                          18) Checkpoint: Buffy sticking the boot into the watchers council and sticking up for her friends, just beautiful
                          17) Grave: XANDER SAVED THE WORLD
                          16) Hells Bells: This is the only episode where I felt mad at Xander! To make me do that takes real effort but they did it and then in the next shot they made me like him again
                          15) Entropy: Xander seeing Anya and Spike *Ahem* was heartbreaking. but the aftermath was devistating on a whole new level
                          14) The Killer In Me: The brilliant editing between Warren and Willow sold this one for me, plus seeing warren act like willow was funny
                          13) Witch: The first time the scoobies acted like the scoobies (The first two eps Xander and willow were dragged into the madness, this time they jumped in)
                          12) The replacement: Double the Xander, need I say more
                          11) Band Candy: Joyce and Giles acting like teenagers, very funny
                          10) Something Blue: Buffy and Spike in love and getting married? Now who saw that coming?
                          9) The zeppo: Great reversal of stories, making the end of the world take back seat to what is (Effectively) a character study of Xander
                          8) Doppelgangland: Evil Willow meets Nice willow, now that is awesome
                          7) Ted: John ritter anyone?
                          6) Nightmares: Willow trying to sing Madame Butterfly, Xander in front of a class in his undies, Buffy being told that her father hates her. What more could you want?
                          5) School Hard: Spikes big entrance
                          4) Hush: Proving that Silence is golden
                          3) The Wish: Turning the two people that Buffy loves most (Let's face it, she loves them more than Angel, Riley, Dawn and her mother put together) and turning htem into Vampires, then making her have to kill them. Amazing.
                          2) Once More With Feeling: Any musical that involes killing Vampires deserves a Tony
                          1) The Body: If you didn't cry during this episode then you need your tear ducts tested
Tap dancing hurts if you fall in the sink

Just to point it out, potterfanatic -- the episode you mean in #20 is "Who Are You?" -- "This Year's Girl" is the first half of the two-parter, when Faith wakes up, gets the thing from the Mayor, etc. It *ends* with the body switch.

Wow, this was really difficult. I attempted to order them, but I know it'll all probably change in a second or two. Anyway, here it is...

                              20. Chosen - yeah I'm a sucker for the music and the big slow-mo fight... so kill me.
                              19. Helpless - a really good thriller episode, reversing Buffy's role and putting Joyce in great danger. Jeff Kober was the perfect villain. Buffy empowerment... without power.
                              18. Selfless - good all-round episode, great fight scene and really gut-wrenching Anya. I also really liked the Willow stuff.
                              17. Primeval - Buffy and the Scoobies reuniting before uniting. I'm a big fan of the visual poetry of the fight against Adam.
                              16. Anne - a really good episode, I've probably already talked about it... Buffy struggles with identity, faces once of my favourite one-episode villains.
                              15. Prophecy Girl - the first truly great episode. The Master is a slightly hammy but underrated villain, Sarah Michelle Gellar proves she can make an audience cry.
                              14. Grave - I think the Dark Willow episodes were some of the first ones I saw. Anyway I'm still a big fan of them. The Xander/Willow scene is beautiful, as is the song that follows.
                              13. The Body - some of, if not the best, writing on the show. Joss can do the comedy like a pro, but it's when he gets dramatic you really have to take notice.
                              12. Enemies - the Buffy and Faith relationship ignites and this episode truly is explosive. The Angel/Angelus stuff is brilliant, but it's so easy to forget when you think about it against the Buffy/Faith.
                              11. Becoming, part I - the flashbacks are nice, it's a good set-up episode, but that moment at the very end is truly amazing.
                              10. Graduation Day, part I - Buffy and Faith's fight! Whoa nelly... it also has this wonderful montage moment just beforehand, that's great.
                              09. Once More, With Feeling - I'm a little surprised this isn't higher. Great comedy, great drama, and surprisingly enough, great music.
                              08. Passion - the Jenny chase scene is just so thrilling, and the cast's reactions to the killing are wonderful. Poor Giles.
                              07. Hush - great music, great scares, Tara's introduction, brilliant writing.
                              06. The Wish - one of the most dramatic episodes in the show, but also one of the most heartwarming in terms of real-world Buffy/Xander/Willow's relationship.
                              05. Seeing Red - the AR scene is brilliant. It is difficult and so well acted. Other scenes -- Xander's "flopping and gasping", Buffy's fight with Warren, Warren with the gun, all work very well.
                              04. Restless - really beautiful music and myth, and dream symbolism. Both funny and dramatic. I love the first Slayer.
                              03. Innocence - really powerful. This has Buffy at her lowest point and her highest point. Filled to the brim with amazing scenes, such as the death of Jenny's uncle, Angelus attacking Willow, Buffy's fight with Angelus while the showers are coming down. But the best moment comes when Buffy pulls out the rocket launcher.
                              02. The Gift - an all-round episode for the cast. The fight scenes, the death of Ben, Buffy's death. Joss, you pro.
                              01. Becoming, part II - the saddest and most dramatic episode of the show. The swordfight is good enough to excuse the obvious stunt doubles. Buffy losing everything, Willow's spell, Joyce, it's all so good.

                                Revised:

                                20 No Place Like Home
                                19 Dirty Girls
                                - I absolutely loved this episode the first time I saw it. For season seven, it's a very dark area to approach, and was meant to do that in order to capture the bad guys losing aspect. I loved the reality of the episode, in that people will die and Slayers can make mistakes. Plus, Faith came back... which is always great
                                18 When She Was Bad
                                - Another episode I feel is highly underrated and should regarded of a higher status. This episode is probably one of the lowest points I've seen Buffy outside of season six. Whatever kind of dreams she'd been having, they must have been absolutely terrifying. I love the relationships between the characters, and how they mold back together after everything's said and done. I also loved the final scene with The Master's bones. Very moving episode. Great job by Joss.
                                17 Prophecy Girl
                                16 Once More, With Feeling
                                15 Fool For Love
                                14 The Body
                                13. Amends

Really? Oh, well at the end Buffy does use the Five-By-Five quote and the performance of that line was fantastic and, ok I got my eps screwed up, I'm sorry. I still like "Who are you?" though

                                    Let's see;

                                    01. Innocence. I think this is the most brilliant episode in the buffyverse. The acting, the story, the lines, and the scene in which Buffy met Angelus for the first time. The shock of Angelus, how could somebody expect this monster in Angel.

                                    02. Passion. The Angelus voice-over, Angelus is for the first time more than just evil talk (not that his evil talk isn't scary and cruel), La Boheme, Giles finding Jenny, Giles versus Angelus, Giles breaks down in Buffy's arms. Jenny's dead, Buffy realises that Angelus should die and that Angel is really gone.

                                    03. Becoming part 2. Buffy was never this strong again. Angelus won and lost in the end, Buffy was broken and alone. But he was gone.

                                    04. Prophecy Girl. Just like in Becoming, Buffy proved how strong she was. The scene when she throw away her cross is so beautiful.

                                    05. I Only Have Eyes For You. I love the acting, the story about the student and the teacher and the way it ended with Angelus washing himself.

                                    06. Amends. I can't help it, I just love this episode inclusive the really cheesy snow. This is in my eyes the only time the first was really close to hurt Buffy.

                                    07. Anne. Buffy makes peace with last year and herself.

                                    08. Forever. I love this one more that 'The Body', I like that Buffy tells Angel how she feels and that she is ready to break down after the talk.

                                    09. Enemies. I didn't bought the 'Angelus is Back' part, but maybe that is why I loved it so much. Angelus was back, just not really. And Faith who really believed it.

                                    10. Hush. The not-talking was funny. The Gentleman were creepy and I liked the fairytale part.

                                    11. What's my Line part 2.

                                    12. Normal Again

                                    13. Helpless

                                    14. Graduationday part 2.

                                    15. Becoming part 1.

                                    16. Phases.

                                    17. The Body.

                                    18. Once More With Feeling. Just for the songs, the story was poor.

                                    19. Seeing Red.

                                    20. The weight of the World.
