For Willow: Oz / Tara?

Hi everybody !

I was thinking about Wil and her relationships. Without a doubt, most important ones were Oz and Tara. IMO, Kennedy sucks!! I think Oz and Willow were so pretty together, however I believe that Tara was more important for Willow...I also like them too! Both cute couples.. I believe Tara was more important because Wil chose her in s4 to be together instead of Oz. She could have been with Oz but she didnt, Tara was her forever love from that moment..I dont believe that she loved Kennedy, she was so arrogant and irritating! That was just a date.. So the major ones..Oz/Tara?

I honestly don't know. I don't think it can be fairly judged, because Willow was going through much different personality changes at different points. I mean, she did some truly awful, awful things to Tara, but how much of that was just about power corrupting? But, she cheated on Oz, with no influence other than being an adolescent -- so which is worse? Do we even address the question based on how she treated them?

Given that (Season 8 spoilers -- even for those who have read Season 8)

Oz is supposed to return at least temporarily at some point, and maybe even full time, we may still get more data on this, just as we're going to get Willow sharing some insights into her feelings about Tara and everything that's happened.

Thank you Selen, for this thread I really love talking about this subject. I personally love Oz and Willow more(there are couple of reasons why) Firstiy, I ADORE the old, nerd, high school girl and ready to help, funny and cute Willow a lot!! For that time Oz, was perfect him and they just completed eachother. they were the funny and happy side of the scoobie. So I think that Willow and Oz was better than Tara/Willow. On the otherhand, Willow cared a lot about Tara. and she was her real love. Well, I cant deny that Willow was changed(I mean her personality or the way she behaves) and, according to that Willow, Oz would be different.. I dunno maybe It's because we got used to see her with Tara in later seasons.

I love the both two couples, both of them meant a lot to her. As you said Selen, Kennedy was just meaningless, useless, and everthing with "less". But still I loved Oz and Willow more.

When I saw "Oz/Tara" as a phrase in the post, it made me remember "Restless" and their flirtation. I think Seth Green and Amber Benson could melt the camera with the chemistry in that brief bit from Willow's dream.

Okay never thoought that way, I mean it looks a bit strange now for me, but it's all about getting used to..Tara&Oz..I'm not so familiar to that but maybe..

Bring Tara back and just get the three of them together, maybe? Actually, I've read some decent fic about a actual *relationship* (not just pwp) involving Willow/Tara/Male Third.

I'm just babbling. I still don't know what to say. Willow/Tara is probably the closest as any 'ship comes to being a sacred cow in the Buffyverse, so it would be hard to just say Oz is the answer, but I actually lean that direction. The primary reason being that Tara was *still* dealing with doubts as to Willow's investment in the relationship as late as "Tough Love" and then coping with her abuse and condescension in Season 6. Other than Willow's dallying with Xander, which is less traumatic than either of the problems Tara was facing, Oz and Willow seemed to have a much more stable and mutual relationship.

I think Oz is right for her. I actually like Tara so much but Oz seems so cute with Willow. I have to add that I didn't like that she turned into a gay in season 4. But probably she couldn't stand in front of the suffer...

Nobody wrote about Xander. They had a short relationship but it was heartbreaking for Will, too. Because she betrayed Oz as you know.

I want to add that Willow loved Tara more than Oz. Because when Tara died, we can see her reaction... I like Oz with Willow but I know that Willow and Tara have the true love...

to kingofcretins: oz was actually supposed to join ats in season 6... that was one of the big rumors and part of the thinking behind nina.

i personally prefer willoz. i like tara, don't get me wrong. however, i liked tara a whole lot more when she wasn't standing in willow's shadow (most of season 6). when she finally started getting a backbone and personality of her own is when she started getting good. and willow was pretty abusive towards her. frankly, i don't think it was a good relationship. the characters both felt stronger apart from each other.

while willow cheated on oz and despite oz being about as taciturn as a human can possibly be... he had a full story beyond living through willow. i also happen to be a huge fan of the beast angel/oz comparisons.

though, i was totally rooting for xander and willow in season 7. why? "back to the beginning", to me that was willow crushing on xander. i think season 7's early big statements would have been much stronger had xillow happened (kennedy felt like really cheap lip-service to the whining about the 'dead lesbian cliché' crap). it also would have strengthened the end of "grave" so much more on top of the "back to the beginning" thing.

Yes, after Tara died, we all know about 'Dark Willow' but Willoz ended because of another relationship Also I think Wil's love for Oz wasn't much enough..Like Beste said, she betrayed him..actually Willow also cast some spells on Tara, that's sorta betraying too! Tabula Rasa was so ..what Willow did was completely wrong after all![still so funny epi all about Randy Giles thingy] She also sometimes argued with Tara, and made Tara feel bad.maybe that's kind of her style

I agree with that.. I'm pretty sure Willow is bisexual, seeing as she was crushing over Xander since kindergarden, and had her relationship with Oz who she actually loved. But I dont know, its not like Willow has to be something, gay or bi or whatever, she loved Oz and also loved Tara.. but that kind of contradicts what I just said :P

Answering the topic question, I definately liked Willow and Tara as a couple more, becasue they were eachother one true forever love, soulmates and all that. They were just beautiful together. However Oz and Willow were amazingly cute together too and Oz is a wicked character

Also an agreement from me too! Yes Oz and Willow was the cutest couple of all, IMO. And really enjoyed every second passing about them. They were so for eachother but we cant deny that Tara was her soulmate and her true love. And yes I love Tara a lot too. Yes Kennedy.. was just meaningless. It would have been the best If she hadn't dated anyone after Tara, so that we'd respect and always remember her feelings for Tara.

Oz was her first love, not really her true love. While Ifound Willow/Oz very cute, I don't think he stands a chance against Tara.

I love Tillow more too. Woz was very adorable, and thats probably what made the first few seasons enjoyable for me at all. Kennedy was...ugh

i would say willow is better with tara because the had similar interests and they just fitted better thats my opinion anyway and that since s4 willow came to terms she may be gay prob influaned by her doppleganger :P

Tara by a long shot. The thing Willow had with Oz was more a teenage love thing, which in TV land rarely if ever last. The love she shared with Tara was way more emotional than it ever got with Oz
