  • Drusilla...?

I was rewatching Buffy season 5 and realized that season five's "Crush" is really Drusilla's FINAL apperance of the series (Buffy and Angel). Every other apperance afterwards is either a flashback or The First.

So, what happend to Dru? I really wish they woulda done more with her. I think Dru is one of the most interesting characters on the series and really didn't get a proper ending. I would have much enjoyed her to be more part of Angel season 5 and Spike's story line.

I just really wanna know what happends to her!

I'd be surprised if she didn't turn up in one of the comic seasons at some point. "After The Fall" certainly seems to be taking full advantage of not needing to schedule and pay actors to have lapsed characters return.

I agree, Dru is a fascinating character and I would have liked to see more of her. She was one of the only bad guys that I wasn't able to empathise with, simply because I didn't understand her motivations or where she was coming from. Would be interesting to see her some more in the comics

I would love to see her once more with Angel and Spike, but not a complete arc like the Darla arc. And also without a redemption story for her, it has something cruel ... the most innocent one being the one that won't be redeemed.

But on the other side, in the Ats comics there is not enough time for a lot of Drusilla. ATF is already too full, maybe in Angel: aftermath? But also in that comic, I don't want her to eat all the space. One or two issues ... or a small role in the whole season. But no big arc.

I agree. She can never be redeemed... Angel, Spike and Darla all have been and I just don't think it'd feel right if Dru became good... She needs to stay evil and loving it!

I would have loved for her to be in Buffy season 8.

          Spoiler:
It would have been much cooler for it to be her in the future rather then Willow.

I would def like to see her on BtVs more than AtS. The idea of her and Buffy interacting without the vampire boys is fascinating to me. We've seen how she is with Spike and Angel...but what would she be like with Buffy? With Willow?

            Spoiler:
I was initially disappointed that she wasn't the dark future lady... but I do think that Willow fits the arc better...however, I would love for her to appear later, maybe season 9. Now that Willow's all time-crazed, having her and Dru interact would be wonderful. Though I think there are lots of interesting parallels between Buffy and Dru too, not just about who they've shagged, but through the slayer visions and the outsider status. So, Buffy and Dru screentime in which Buffy comes to see Dru as more than just hilariously crazy...perhaps understands a little more of madness, the crazier her own world gets?

I love Dru so much that I'd be up for her in any context, though, so having her with Spike and Angel in an AtS comic would be good too. Though I'd find it hard to buy that she was in Hell-A, so think it shouldn't be in the hell bit. Unless she's dead and in hell, which could be itneresting!

Personally I don't think its possible to redeem Dru even if someone wanted to. She can't be redeemed as she is, I don't think she could make that choice for herself. You'd never be sure if she made the choice herself or she was talked into it by Spike or Daddy etc. I think the only way that would ever work with her is if she was somehow made saner, which I think would take away frmo the kind of character she is. She's perfect as she is. She's the villian who's just insane enough that you can't dislike her. I always wanted her to be more of a villian in Buffy she could really have been very dangerous particularly if they showed that she can use her visions to out do people by knowing whats coming. Didn't she do most if not all of the Judge stuff herself? I'm sure she was the one behind that, she's not stupid, she's just not very sane, which makes her dangerous. She can't be predicted, most villians you can get a pattern, with her I always thought that was so unlikely that you'd ever be able to guess her next move. It made her interesting and exciting for me.

Also, wouldn't it be terribly dull if all vampires went and got themselves redeemed? Buffy would be out of a job.

I think Dru is much more fun as she is, though I'm always interested in the parts that make us sympathetic to her - the moment in Buffy, I forget when, when she talks to Angel about when he killed her family, talking about the things her mother (or other family member, I forget) liked to eat. Oh yes, it's when she's torturing him. Amazing that a character can make you sympathetic while torturing someone! Parallel with Dana/Spike, now I think about it.

I have wondered about Drusilla many times and what she might have gotten up to since "Crush". Unfortunately, it's hard to think of what they could do with her. Redeeming her would be a bit of a rehash (although there is something to be said for making it a clean sweep of the worst group of vampires in history), and she just isn't believable as a mwahahaha master villain.

Plus, I think she'd have to appear on the "Angel" side of things. The Drusilla character has *no* substantial ties to anyone on the "Buffy" side of the story, not even to Buffy herself. In point of fact, Buffy taking her hostage in "Lie to Me" and the fight in "Crush" are the only times they've even been in physical contact. And "Crush" was the only episode in which they actually spoke to each other, and even then, they weren't speaking to each other in direct address. And the only *other* Scooby Dru ever spoke to was Xander, and that was under the influence of the spell.

She just has... nothing to do with "Buffy". She's all tied up in Angel and Spike. Those are what tie her to the story. That's also why I am very glad that (Season 8 spoiler)
                  Spoiler:
they didn't use her in "Time of Your Life" -- there's just no emotional resonance to it at all. It would have just been a self-contained story with Harth and her as the villains that really wouldn't have had any impact on the season arc.

I don't think she should appear on "Angel" though until "After the Fall" is over -- it would start to get a little cheesy if just *everyone* happened to be in LA that night and got sent to Hell-A. Either wait until they're out, or have her appear as the MOTW in Season 8 whenever Spike and/or Angel make their inevitable guest appearance.

To me, she's the perfect minibad/henchvamp. As the Fool is to King Lear, type relationship.

I don't think it's the ties that make her interesting, it's the potential for parallels and thematic awesomeness (madness, punishment, suffering, visions...she's so fluid and full of vibrant resonances all on her own).

                      Somehow I would love it when;

                      Spoiler:

She would met human Angel in a church. I doubt that it would happen, but I love that idea.

I think that it's impossible for her to show up in ATF, she has no place there .... one crazy vampire is more than enough.
