  • How did you discover Btvs/Ats

I remember in january 2000(when s4 was starting over here)
It was Teusday, and i was flicking through the channels and came across the
last 20 minutes of a re-run of Innocence, and basically kept it on coz SMG was hot.
But i was quite impressed and later that week on Friday, i recorded the brand
new episode, Harsh light of day(followed by in the dark).
When i watched it, i was just blown away, i was hooked straight away, and ended
up buying all the boxsets within that year.
Im just glad i never came across Bad eggs and reptile boy though, or i
may not have given it a chance

Last Year about Christmass I was bored as my sporting commitments had finished. I listen to recommendations alot of the time. It's how I do things and someone recommended Buffy to me. I'd never watched the show before because so many told me that it was a girls show. It also helped that someone bought me all the seasons of buffy and angel.

I watched every episode within 2 months and even then I struggled to not watch it all at once. I really started loving the show with School Hard because of spike and then angelus.

I was looking forward to Ats as buffy's whining was upsetting me way more than Dawn's did in s4. And was not disappointed a better and more consistant show than Btvs. But I like Buffy more thanks to the individual characters in it. Willow, Spike, Tara, and the Xan-man.

I actually watched it from jan 2000, i watched it for 2 years and stopped watching
        after s6(for some wierd reason).
But then last autumn, i caught a couple of episodes on TV again, and
remembered how much i used to love it.
So, after a 6 year absence, i got s3, just for old times sake, but after getting the Buffy Bug again, i
quickly rushed out and got all of them. And i hadent even seen Btvs s7, or Ats seasons 3, 4 and 5.
They are just too addictive the first time you watch them.

I remember it was summer and where I live (south america) fox aired the show, they were transmiting season 5 reruns, a month previous to the start of season 6, honestly I was bored to death and was doing zapping trying to find something interesting, I found Buffy, I knew little about it, my brother who has watched a couple of episodes before filled me in what was happening in season 5 so far, but he didn't know that much either. After watching that first episode I got caught in the storyline and I watch it ever since, when season 6 started I became a true fan and now I have been for 6 years!!

Hmm, I know I've answered this before, but I'll do it again.

I first started watching during either... Season 1 or 2. YTV aired the seires (the saturday after it aired on TheWB, since Canada didn't have TheWB) so I actually watched it with my dad. We use to watch Xena and then started on Buffy and it was just something we did together.

We watched it for about the first three seasons then we stopped, I don't know why but we kinda did. I restarted watching it off and on during season 5 and got back more serious during Season 6 when it hit UPN (which aired in Canada and was eaiser to watch during the weekday than weekend).

Season 7 is when I REALLY got into it and I joined BuffyWorld. I think because I was friends with Alex (Magnetic Duty) and was able to talk about it with someone. And the rest is history...

Oh as for Angel I started watching in season 4 when TheWB came to digitalcable, though it did air on TheNewVI (I didn't even know there was an Angel series until I joined BuffyWorld). My first episode was... "Orpheus" cause I saw an add for Willow and then I started watching starting season 5.

I decided I wanted to watch Buffy because of OMWF. I heard that they did a musical episode and I was kind of like, this is a show I have got to see. But I didn't do anything about that until Christmas of '04, when I asked for it and got the first two seasons on DVD. I'd devoured both of them in the week between christmas and new year, and had already bought season 3 when I went to Belgium the week after new year to do research for my undergrad thesis. Now my french skills being what they are (crappy), it was a sort of lonely week, and I'd only brought two discs of Buffy with me, the 4th and 5th disc of season 3. And I had horrible jet lag, couldn't sleep for most of the week. So I wanted those discs over and over...especially Earshot, which remains one of my very favorite episodes. And that was me, hooked.

I bought season 4 as soon as I got back, and then 5, then six, then seven. I managed to watch the whole series in a month (it did help that I was in college, procrastinating my senior thesis). Then I watched it again...and then I felt like I was in Buffy withdrawal, so I went online to find some fanfiction, and I came across the season 8 written by Wolfie and a few others from BW...and I loved it so much that I had to join the forum to comment on how good it was. And I've been around BW and then here off and on since the spring of 05...

Well the first time I actually watched Buffy I didn't have a clue what it was, I was just watching a show because I was bored and didn't know what else to put on. Anyway, the episode was DoubleMeat Palace and I remembered finding it interesting how they integrated the supernatural element into a fast food restaurant, also I remember being grossed out when Willow threw the demon into the grinder and then this skanky green stuff came out, but yeah. That was on Sky One.

Then I remembered that BBC2 used to show double bills of the Simpsons, which I used to love and so I watched that and sometimes The Fresh Prince of Bel Air which was on after, but then they started showing Buffy and I didn;t watched at first, but I just left it on when Seeing Red was on and I got hooked on that and had to watch the end of the season. Then, obviously, the season ended so I had to wait for ages before Buffy came back and I watched all of season 7, some of my personal favourite episodes being Conversations With Dead People and Selfless. By this time I knew this was a show I had to watch.

Then there was some thing on Channel 4 called the 100 Greatest Musicals, in which, Buffy ranked number 13 and I thought wow, I've seen that show, but never that episode and so I brought the first half of the season on VHS and was completely hooked with that, not knowing there were way better episodes that had came before, I was also interested in Buffy's death which was shown in the previously section.

Finally, Sky One started to show Buffy from the beginning in the mornings, so I would record it and then watch it when I got home from school. By the end of the showing, I knew I had to have this, the complete box set came out that Christmas and the rest is history/

Something like 8/10 years ago, I was in front of TV a Friday at 11pm looking for something interesting to watch, and caught an episode about some teenagers during halloween, being possesed by their costumes, kinda funny. Next Friday, curious I'm watching an other episode, then an other until Surprise/Innocence which hooked me, so I watched the entire show the next Fridays and got really blown away by Passion and Becoming.
Next year I was a faithful viewer of Season 3, then 4, then 5. It was really a good show, one of my fav. Then Season 6 opening episodes really impressed me, so morbid. But I became really fanatic at the episode "Tabula Rasa" when Spike and Buffy kissed at the end. I just loved Spuffy and really didn't think the writers would have the balls to do a love story between those two, I was so thrilled. Then Darth Willow made me an absolut fan. Then Season 7 which is my favorite Season, with the amazing "Chosen" (my fav episode).
The year after, I was buying the all seasons which I watched like 20 times since.
That's how I become BtVS fan.

Um, about four or five years ago, I was sitting in front of the TV with my sisters. And my older sister has control of the remote, obviously! So, she flicks around and she gets to FX. Buffy is on. She's like, "Oh, this show's okay." So she kept it. It was "The Freshman". I was hooked. "Living Conditions" was on right after it, so as my sisters went upstairs, I stayed watching "Living Conditions". I was totally hooked. I immediately went out and bought (god knows why) SEASON 7, OF ALL SEASONS! Then 5, then 3, then 2, then 4, then 1, then 6 I know...weird....

Not weird. My order was 4and second half of 2(at the same time), then 3, then first half of 2, then 1, then 5. Six wasnt on yet.

I was seven years old and my sister's friend at school told her about the show's first episode premiering here in Australia. Her friend had seen the movie and loved it (god knows why) so told my sister to watch the show. So she did and I did, and ever since the pilot I had been hooked. I remember having a big crush on SMG and freaking out with excitement when I saw the Master for the first time. And the cliff-hanger at the end of ?Welcome to the Hellmouth' blew me away back then.

Some of my fondest memories of my childhood was being excited for Tuesdays to see a new episode.

I was watching the Charmed reruns on one of our channels. And one day there was no Charmed but reruns of BtVS. I think that I was 12 years old ... maybe 13.

Angel I found out a year after BtVS, I was watching Buffy and after that came the episode Disharmony and I kept watching. BtVS I saw in order, Ats I saw in a really weird way, first season 3, after that season 2 and 4 ... then the last part of season 1, the first part of season 5 ... and then I started to buy the DVD's ... stupid Dutch television.

My best friend bugged me to watch it for the longest time. I finally agreed just to get her to shut up, and now she's regretting it because Buffy is all I talk about!

As for charmed someone here's watched a question is it worth it? I got it at the same time as Btvs but didn't like the 1st few eps

Funny and stupid story from me, actually. See, back in my tween years, I used to be all about Disney Channel shows (Thank God I grew out of that). I liked to research the actors and actresses from different shows. I looked up Lalaine (From the horrid Lizzie McGuire) and saw she was on BTVS. Now, some of my friends who were 12 watched BTVS a couple years earlier, but I was kinda like "meh, I'll stick with my gay TV shows" and they had mentioned the infamous Dark Willow and how she flayed Warren. I saw Lalaine's name accredited to BTVS episodes and thought, "Wow, a Disney actress in a show like that? Awesome, this I gotta see." I started waiting for her season, Season 7 to show up on FX (Lalaine played the potential slayer Chloe). In the meantime, I had to sit through season 1 and every season after. At first, I thought I was in for pure torture...but to my surprise, I LOVED it (I never understood why I never caught interested in Buffy earlier, I love vampires). I watched every episode in order on FX from five in the morning to seven when I had to leave for school, and instantly regretted not taking my friend's interest in the show.

FINALLY, after enjoying Buffy every morning, Season 7 came along, with one of my favorite episodes, "Conversations with Dead People." I waited for "Showtime" to air and saw that Clara Bryant, another DC actress, was on playing Molly and I was like, "wow." After seeing "Get It Done," the episode I had been waiting months to see, I was impressed that a DC actress could take on playing the First Evil, and was impressed that some of them actually had acting careers outside of DC. I finished the series, and, hungry for more Buffyverse Goodness, began Angel. I only saw some of season four before getting bored with it, but I recently went out and bought seasons 1 and 2 of Angel (As well as seasons 1 and 3 of BTVS, my fave seasons) and realized how much I really loved Cordy (Who I always despised before) and how amazing Angel was. I haven't seen every episode of Angel, but today I'm going to go buy Seasons 3 and 4, plus, in a couple days, the After The Fall hardcover edition of the series. I can't wait!

And THAT was how I discovered the love of my life, BTVS and Angel. I don't watch TV except for those two shows, and I am totally hooked for life! I'm also a total comic book nerd and was so happy when I found out that there would be CANON Buffy and Angel comics! (it was also bittersweet, because I knew that meant no live-action show with the actors I have come to adore).
