  • It's been annoying me since I heard it.

Okay, In episode Smashed towards the end when Spike and Buffy are fighting and bad mouthing eachother, Buffy says, "All you do is follow me around making mooneyes." What are mooneyes? Everyone I've asked has no idea. In the commentary on the DVD the writer, Drew Greenberg, didn't even answer it and he brought it up. All the help is appreciated.

'moon eyes' are basically the eyes of infatuation. Awe and sappy devotion. It probably comes from the idea of being so wide-eyed that your eyes are as big as the moon, but I don't know for certain.

This might be better if moved to "Ask the Experts".

yeah KoC has it. Moon eyes just means all wide-eyed, kind of like puppy-dog eyes.

          Moon eyes = puppy love.

At least, in my estimation. That's what I always assumed.
