  • "You owe me a dollar"; The Wesley & Lilah thread

I've a strange but big love for this couple, I hope that I'm not the only one ... so here is a thread for the twisted and hot Wilah ship.

    Some questions;

    1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?

    2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?

    3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?

    4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?

    Some questions;

    1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?
very much; it was VERY hawt.

    2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
the dollar is good, him trying to destroy her contract, "Shut up." "Make me." then he, well, you know... Or just Angel outting them saying he could smell them on each other.

    3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother? clearly, she was jealous of Fred, he tried to save her.

    4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again? YESYESYES...If Holland and Lilah and Wes all have these post life contracts...it would be GREAT for her to show up in the Comic. Could Lindsey show up too then (off subject)?

"Try not to think about me when I'm gone."
"I wasn't thinking aoubt you when you were here."
    OUCH...LOVE it!

      1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?
Yeah, I really like Wesley/Lilah. I think there are two main reasons, for me. First off, I really like that Lilah had been, for the past year or so, the face of Wolfram and Hart. She was the epitome of evil there, and she had traded barbs with Angel on more than one occasion. But instead of having her date the show's lead, she goes for his best friend. I was really impressed with that from the writers, and I also appreciated the places it took Wesley's character. Secondly, I love that they never made Lilah "good". She fell in love with Wesley, yes, but I don't think she ever compromised her (lack of) morals.

      2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
Wesley saving Lilah from the Beast in Habeus Corpses. Their goodbye there is perfect in every way-- Wesley is pretending that he doesn't feel anything even though he just risked his life to save Lilah; Lilah's wearing her heart on her sleeve regardless, but still can't bring herself to say those three little words.

      3) Do you think that they really cared about each other?
I definitely think that Lilah loved Wesley. Wesley I think loved her as well, although I'm still not sure if he loved her or what she could be. But "It's not always about holding hands" makes me think that he really did care for her.

      4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?
No, I don't think so. I don't want Lilah to come back because I think she should remain dead, but even if she did, I still think I would like them to be apart. I think that Wesley is in a very different place than he was in late Season Three/early Season Four-- he's back with the team and I don't think he'd be willing to get back together with Lilah because...well, she's not very nice. I think the only way it would work would be for Lilah to redeem herself, but I don't want her to. I like her the way she is. I would be happy with a scene where they both admit that they have feelings for each other but know that it can't happen between them....oh, wait, that happened in Home. So, yeah, I think they're done.

The story's kinda bland. It's about this guy named Dumbledore Calrissian who needs to return the ring back to Mordor.

        1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?

In short, f**k yeah. It was a relationship that started out of a want for corruption, lust and self-loathing and then turned into a kinship of understanding and tragic beauty. I honestly think Lilah was right when she said that she knew him better than Fred did. Ironically admidst all the deception there was a certain emotional honesty.

        2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?

I agree that the scene in Home was great. Sometimes you can't save those whom we love, especially if they are the forgers of their destinies. Lilah was never the damsel in distressand I think a part of Wes knew that, but as Angel has learned, the intention of saving someone's soul has it's own inherent importance.

        3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?

Yes. As it was said above, it started out as corruption and self-loathing (maybe self punishment) but it ended up somewhere else entirely. I think the signed dollar said it all. It was 'proof' after all.

        4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?

Maybe. I kind of got closure and Wes would have enough to deal with, in terms of Fred/Illyria.

Like I already said, I love this ship so much. I lovee the conversations between them, their intentions and how those change ... and okay, they're very hot.

          2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
In Home, when Wesley tries to burn her contract to save her. It was very sweet and I love Lilah's face in the last shots of that scene.

          3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?
I've to agree with you all, it wasn't the intention but the developed feelings for eachother, and I think that those were stronger than what they want to admit to eachother and others.

          4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?
Maybe, it's all about the situation. I don't need a badly written story to bring them together ... but if it's possible and it doesn't feel forced ... yeah, bring them back.

            1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?

            I like their ship. It was a very honest and very mature relationship. They never pretended it was anything that it was not and they never pretended to be someone they weren't. They took each other for who they were and very rarely, if ever, embarrassed themselves. I love their frank and open honesty, one scene in particular is when Wes tells Lilah she's embarrassing herself by trying to come on to him after he broke it off. And what I love about that scene is that Lilah stops and doesn't degrade herself. And I love some of the lines that come out of that relationship, in particular Lilah's commentary on the shades of grey and no matter how much white you try and put into grey it'll never get white again. I also love;

"Your former boss is a vampire with a soul and now you're loosing yours"

            2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?

I agree with a lot of people, the scene when Wes tries to free her from her contract. It's an amazing scene, very sweet and very simple.

            3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?

I think feelings developed. I don't believe it to be love and believes Wes when he says that "loved one" was just a term. And I'm not even sure Lilah was capable of love, as Wes questions. But they cared about each other, I think the contract scene proves that.

            4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?

Nope. I loved their relationship and I love Lilah but it wouldn't have resulted in anything good IMO. I don't think Lilah was ever really going to change. As she says she stopped wearing her game face a long time ago, it became her face. I don't believe she wants to change and don't believe she would. And I think Wesley really loved Fred which he never denied and Lilah never tried to pretend otherwise. It would be un-wise for Wesley to go back to that place. My enjoyment of a romantic pairing doesn't mean I always want them to get back together, I liked it for what I believed it was and believe it should be left at that.

              1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?
I really like their ship, mostly because I'm in love with hardcore!Wesley and Lilah. I think it's the darkest (human) pairing in the series, and therfore - I like it. :P

              2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
Probably the "I'm good and pure and science turns me on, and one day, if I'll pray hard enough and eat all my vegetables, I just might have hips!" from "Apocalipse, Nowish".

              3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?
I defintly think they cared about each other, but I don't believe it was love. I think Wesley was looking for something different, entirely different from Fred and his personallity and prefernces on Angel Investigations, and Lilah was kind of the only one he got. (and, hey, she WAS hot!)

              4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?
Hell yeah, and I think it might even be possible. I havn't read ATF, so I don't know if they bring Wesley back to life somehow (and I don't want to know, so please, spare the spoilers), but if he's still dead they could probably see each other on one of the hell dimansions they're in and start, um, sleeping toghether again or something. You know what I mean.

(I'm very sorry for my grammer mistakes. English isn't my mother-tounge, so...)

                1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?
Yep. It's actually my only Buffyverse ship. Although there are some others I don't mind, this has been the only relationship I really loved and rooted for in either series. It's hot and dark but there's another side to it sometimes where you can tell both of them, even someone as evil as Lilah, really do care deep down for each other.

                2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
I'm big on the "You owe me a dollar" scene because as far as I can remember it's one of the first non-kinky, really kind of sweet moments they have together.

                3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?
Oh yeah. As others have said and as I said above. ^^ They each had their moments where you could tell.

                4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?
I would but since I'm not reading the comics, I suppose I could take it or leave it. If it was more Angel on TV, damn straight I'd like to see it.
No power in the 'verse can stop me.

                  1) Do you like the ship? if you do, why ... and if you don't, why not?
I have always loved this pairing. Its the fact that even though Westly goes a little dark, he and Lilah are totally oppiste when it comes to their morals, loyalty etc which makes for interesting watching. As soon as Lilah was trying to get Wes to come to the dark side in season 3 I was like "Please get together."

                  2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?
It has to be when Westly is meant to be choping a deads Lilahs head off but instead talks to a figment of his imagination thats in her image. I know that its not really her but I don't care its my fav

                  3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?
Yes. They can denie it to themselves but I see the truth.
Lilah oversly cared because even when they split up, she was still jealous of Fred.
And Wesley so cared. If he didn't he wouldn't have
                  1-saved the signed dollar
2-Imagined her and had a convo when he was supposed to be chopping her head off and
3-Tried to burn her contract to save her from her afterlife.

                  4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?
Yes, yes and yes. They never really had a chance
ANGEL: You just like stabbing me.

SPIKE: I?I'm shocked, SHOCKED that you'd say that. I much prefer hitting you with blunt instruments.

yes I DO, I haven't seen all of S3 yet, but whats in S4, I thought was brilliant. It was a dark and seemingly paradoxical relationship. A sort of fierce passion as opposed the soppier "I wuv yu" more typical of BtVS.

                    2) What is you favourite Wilah Scene?

Definately Lilah dressing up as Fred.

                    3) Do you think that they really cared about eachother?

Yes in an odd way they do. While they couldn't admit it to other, or even themselves, not completely at the time anyway, they did.

                    4) If it was possible, would you want them to be together again?

I'm not sure it would work that well. After Wesley finally got what he wanted after all that waiting...Fred and after her death, I think Wesley was a different man, not least because he was dead.
