  • Michelle Trachtenberg to join Gossip Girl

    From Ausiello:

Guess that pesky financial i$$ue worked itself out after all: I can now reveal that not only was Michelle Trachtenberg the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna to whom I alluded in today's AA, but a deal has been sealed for her to join Gossip Girl.

And even though probably every other starlet in Hollywood under the age of 30 had to be salivating over the prospect of playing Georgina Sparks, a troublemaker from Serena's past who makes Blair look about as dangerous as Donna Martin, I think the CW's casting department nailed it. (C'mon, Buffy's sis was always one prickly pear!) For that matter, Trachtenberg lucked out, too: Could there be a more entertaining way for a young actress to make her comeback than by playing an adolescent Cruella? Didn't think so.
    Yay or nay?

I kind of like the idea of seeing Mechelle again. She hasn't had too high a profile since Buffy ended and this show might be a great way to bring her back up.

Yay, definitely. I'm very excited to see Michelle return to TV, especially if it's a show I already love. Georgina seems like an interesting character. I was reading about her role in the books, and she is definitely trouble. Hopefully, they'll keep some of those things, because they'd be interesting to watch.

    Book Spoiler:
    Spoiler:
In the books, Nate meets her in rehab! Saying, "meets in rehabs!" just gave me a flashback to Oliver/Marissa from The O.C. They eventually began to date, but probably not long since the books seem to be all about Serena/Nate/Blair. I could see Nate meeting her while visiting his dad, just has she's preparing to leave to go back to her normal life.

I hope Georgia gets a larger part in the show then she did in the book. It'd be nice to have MT as a regular part of my TV schedule again. It looks like Georgia will be Nate's Blair rebound. I'm personally hopping to see some BlairVSGeorgia action.

Oh that sounds awesome, I'm already watching and loving the show, and I always love seeing Buffy alums on TV--so it's two for the price of one for me! And I think she'd be excellent, can't wait to see her, especially as --that ought to be something, lol, and I think she could definitely pull it off! Thanks for sharing the news, I hadn't heard....
Promise that you'll return to me.

Hmm, pity Gossip Girl was on the stupid HD Channel or I would watch that for Michelle.
