  • Buffy season 1

Hey guys I have a question.. Does anybody know why Buffy season 1 is only eleven episodes rather than twenty two like the other seasons?

(btw wasn't sure where to put this. If in the wrong place sorry.)

I'm not real sure, but I'm going to guess that since the series was new, no one was sure if it was going to popular and run, or if was going to fall flat. I think that only 11 episodes were bought as a trial-period to see if Buffy was going to a hit. :]

Or I could be dead wrong. It's quite possible. :>

I'm pretty sure it was because it was a mid season replacement. Therefore it wasn't able to have 22 episodes. However I think it was a full 22 episode season in the beginning but then they had to cut it down and just used a bunch of clips from the non used episodes throughout the season. Joss talks about it in one of the commentaries for season 1.
