Buffy and other shows collabrating?

well, ive been watching a show called tru calling, which stars Eliza Dushku as the main character. and im 16 episodes in and ive notived that douglas petrie is co-excutive producer, and didnt he write for buffy? and also the girl who played glory, the guy who played forest (season 4) and annabelle (potential) and ive seen them, all in the series so far!

do all the people that work around on buffy like keep in touch and put them in shows other are in? i just foudn it quite cool that so many people from buffy are in tru calling.. anyway just an observation!

Informally, yes, there is a lot of continuing contact between people involved in the Buffyverse, socially and professionally.

Doug Petrie was a Buffy writer and producer from Season 3 onward and wrote some very popular episodes like "Fool For Love" and "This Year's Girl". And there is no doubt at all that when they can, Buffy creative types like to use actors they know can deliver from having worked with on Buffy or Angel.

Leonard Roberts is the actor that played Forrest. Courtnee Draper played Annabelle.

Another good example -- David Fury joined the team on "Lost" and then they ended up having Nathan Fillion do a guest appearance.

even the "hyperion hotel" got a cameo by name.

oddly enough, another show that had 4 of their recurring actors make appearances on btvs/ats was the disney channel's phil of the future.

namely: kay panabaker (mesektet, the little girl in the white room), j.p. manoux (the hyperion bellhop, frank gillnitz), suzanne krull (the shopkeeper of the magic box that spike ate), and kevin west (marcus, the pedophile vampire who tortured angel).

funny thing about the t.v. world... it's a very small world.

Not to be nitpicky but that's only 10! I didn't realise Tamar Taylor was in Serenity. Can you direct me to the episodes which includes Nikki Wood #2 and Skip? As there are 3 there I didn't know about can you tell me what the other 10+ are (having a Bones marathon at the moment) so I can look out for them - I love seeing familiar faces pop up.

I just thought of another;- In Route 666 (S1 Supernatural) the girl that plays Dean's ex is in The Killer in Me (S7 Buffy). She's in the wicker group that Willow and Kennedy seek out and find Amy there. She's the leader that they speak to before the Amy reveal.

i can't get out of my head that richard riehle is muff potter in disney's "tom and huck" (yes, during jonathan taylor thomas' reign as kid heartthrob--dates me, eh?).

i still see donald sutherland as merrick and richard riehle as muff potter replacing merrick in the show. well, that and i see donald sutherland's professor dave jennings in "national lampoon's animal house". i still think it's funny that my picture of merrick is still somewhat a pot-smoking professor who shows his naked bum and says "...being bad is more fun than being good" (enter: apple)... or muff potter.

also, i remember watching the tom cruise movie, "cocktail"... and norman pfister, the bug man, was there (a.k.a. kelly connell).

these people start popping out at you everywhere.

and of course, kristy swanson is in one of the most disturbing/sad movies/stories ever--"flowers in the attic".

i'm tempted to give "honey, i shrunk the kids" a viewing just to look for kristine sutherland.

and the director of "welcome to the hellmouth", charles martin smith, he was in george lucas' 1973 classic, "american graffiti" as the nerd, toad. candy clark, who was the original joyce in the movie--she was, in fact, poofy-haired debbie (toad's co-partner through "american graffiti").

and of course, sean astin guest-directed "soulless"... i'm sure everybody knows who he is. ...between samwise gamgee and "goonies" (the kid with the braces! lol).

and of course, there's the early appearance of seth green and alyson hannigan in dan aykroyd's "my stepmother is an alien". still meaning to see that one (not just for seth and aly, either--i'm a fan of dan). seth green was also in a deleted scene of the original buffy movie, ironically.

Hm,m Alyson Hanngian, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker and I believe Tom lenk are all/or have been on How I met your mother (I am still wondering if Amber Benson will star in it since last time I heard she was best friends with Alyson).

I recently saw another actress/actor in a movie or Tv show not too long ago, can't remeber who it was (I think it was a male actor, I saw Lindsay Lohan on That's 70s show but she not a buffy character, but she wadsn't the one I remeber seeing, neither is Julian mcMahon in the second one of FF4)
