    covers:
    Spoiler:

Bryan Lynch stepped up to talk about "Angel." There are 6 more issues of "Angel: After the Fall," then 3 more issues of "Spike: After the Fall." Issue 16 of "Angel" will see "an explosive finale."

The book will return in 2009 as "Angel: Aftermath," which will further continue Angel's struggles. More stories involving the brooding vampire are slated for the future, including 2009's Lynch-penned "Angel: Blood and Trenches," about Angel's exploits during World War I.
    my ramblings:
    Spoiler:
Aww... it's Liam as a little boy (big ear, there, Runge), 1800s Angelus (mouth is a bit wide), what probably is a modern Angelus, two modern Angels and Angel as an old man. I'm quite overcome with gushy feelings (I'm open with the fact that he's my favorite character). I do love this cover!

It seems we either are going to get Angel back as a vampire, he will grow old sometime in the future (Illyria's futuristic timeslips for both Angel and Spike showed Fray's timeline) or Angel will get to grow into an old man with long hair and a beard. The plot thickens.

The new Spike one is also nice. And yep, that's the new baddie girl. Her outfit is Tarzan's Jane meets the Patchwork Girl of Oz. Heh. Nice consistency with a few familiar faces from Spider's Playmates brigade (the 7-foot-tall noseless demoness and the green girl with forehead horns, for examples).

I definitely have more excitement for ATF than Season 8.

It would be interesting if Hell-A maybe spit the Fang Gang and the rest of L.A. out sometime in the future (going by the timeslips showing both Angel and Spike in Haddyn). It is a possible theory for how the lurks came into Fray's timeline after the banishment of magic.

    Also enjoyed the Ghostbusters covers.

It's great news that we'll be getting more Angel after 'After the Fall'

I like the Angel cover a lot and can't wait to find out what the explosive finale is. Though I'm hoping that in 'Aftermath' it's no longer set in Hell A. I have loved the backdrop but I think it'll be time for a change.

one thing that perhaps is a bit worrying timeline-wise for brian lynch for his angel: blood and trenches story would be these little bits:

Commander Petrie: Well, that's a shame. Times like these, we can use all the able-bodied men we can get.
Angel: I'm not a man. I guess you already knew that.

Angel: Wars are won and lost by men.
though, it could be perhaps how angel arrives at that conclusion. perhaps, once again, having his identity betrayed. certainly would add to his reluctance in both when we fight and are you now, or have you ever been? to interact with humans. in fact, WWI would be the earliest flashback we'd have of angel getting human contact.

done right, it would be an actual purpose for choosing that era of time. the connection to link up the events in this way would give it more of a point.

any thoughts on my theory that:

the reason i propose this theory is because i really do want to see more of a connection between both sides of the 'verse coming to create fray's position in the future. it is also a more interesting way to explain the lurks and demons seeping into fray's timeline than just demons randomly punching through.

Okay - so once A:ATF is over, the next "storyline" is Aftermath? Is that what I'm reading (trying to understand)?

So, our new comic series will continue?? (waiting to do dance of Joy...)

Wonder if that will be true for Spike?? (pleaseohpleaseohplease)

I doubt that the story set in WW1 will be canon but will Aftermath be canon? Because i'm only into things that are canon and i keep my hands of the rest so will it be canon?

I assume that Aftermath will be dealing with the results of "After the Fall", so yeah I assume we can take it as canon. I don't see the big deal though. I'll read it if it's a good story, I don't see why everything has to be explicidly announced as canon. I mean Spike: Assylum, and Spike: Shaddow Puppets and hell, even Spike: After the Fall, havn't been explicidly said by Joss himself that they definetly are canon, but due to them being refferenced so heavily in the main story I think we can assume that they are.

I really like that Spike one-- it reminds me of In the Dark, when he's watching Angel from the rooftop.

                  Spoiler:
I'm excited to see that Wesley will meet Gunn, too-- they've got just as much of a history as (if not more than) Angel and Gunn. Although this makes me wonder if Gunn's going to offer something to Wesley...try to make him betray Angel somehow.
The story's kinda bland. It's about this guy named Dumbledore Calrissian who needs to return the ring back to Mordor.

                    Really liked the new panels, seeing them in just black and white, a part of me even wonders if the comic would look cooler if it was only done in black and white with very few other colours, very Frank Miller;

                    Spoiler:
Also very interested to see Wes and Gunn communicating. And it looks like Gunn's offering something to Wes perhaps? Spike seems to be looking on suspiciously as well.. very cool.

By the way Spike: After The Fall is canon, to the person who said it wanst canon.

                      Canon includes:

                      Buffy
                      Angel
                      The Origin
                      Tales of the Slayers
                      Tales of The Vampires
                      Fray
                      Season Eight
                      Angel: After The Fall
                      Spike: After The Fall

Spike: After The Fall is canon!!!

I agree and I would aslo add Spike: Asylum and Spike: Shadow Puppets to that list.

                        Spoiler:
I can't wait for the Wes/Gunn reuinion. I think this will be when Gunn reveals his true intentions. He can't fight Wesley, he can just talk. And it looks like he is offerning some kind of trinket to Wesley. Something to make Wesley corporial perhaps? Something that will split Fred from Illyria? I'm thinking it's something that Gunn isn't going to give up unless Wesley agrees to betray Angel.

Maybe it's just me but why are we assuming that Gunn is giving the trinket to Wes? It looks to me as if it's the other way round, that Wes is the one that's given it away and Gunn is looking at it as if for the first time. Also, the suspiciously watching Spike tends to add to the theory that he is spying on Wes, rather than backing up Wes in a meeting with an evil enemy.

Could it be something that W&H/Senior Partners have passed on to Wes - maybe to tempt Gunn into the CotBT, perhaps?

Late to the party, but I've to join the dance of joy because of the new Angel series ... 2009 is not that far away ... and Angel is not going to be dead dead ... maybe undead, but he will be still there.

And I love the new art, all of it. I hope that the issue with all the versions of Angel will be about Angel's life. The two Liams mean hopefully, more Liam story. But why does old!Angel look like Obi Wan Kenobi ... not very stylish ...

And I love the art in the three black & white panels ... Sometimes you need to see the color of the hair and the text to understand who it is, but those three panels are amazing.
