Second favorite season for me. Wonderful season where almost every episode is spot on. It's second due to lack of real Cordelia, who just brights up the show! Oh, and the first string of 6 eppys.

Season = 7 (my lowest buffyverse rating)
IMO, Every single other Btvs and Ats seasons are easily superior to this season.

IMO, Every single other Btvs and Ats seasons are easily superior to this season.

Angel Season Four is easily my favorite Ats Season, and it's tied with Buffy Seasons Two and Three as Best Season Ever. I am physically incapable of choosing one of those three as the best.

Deep Down- 10/10 (Excellent in every way. My favorite Ats episode.)
Ground State- 8/10 (I like Gwen, and Fred's breakdown is nice, too.)
The House Always Wins- 6.5/10 (Worst episode of the season.)
Slouching Towards Bethlehem- 7.5/10 (Gets points for the Lilah/Wesley dynamics.)
Supersymmetry- 9/10 (Interesting look at Gunn, Fred, and Gunn/Fred.)
Spin the Bottle- 8.5/10 (Hilarious, yet sad on rewatch when you know what's coming.)
Apocalypse, Nowish- 8/10 (Loses points for Connor/Cordy.)
Habeus Corpses- 8.5/10 (I really like the horror-movie vibe that this episode has.)
Long Day's Journey- 7.5/10 (I like Gwen, and the way Angel uses her to make Cordy jealous, but I find the 5 totems a little too convenient.)
Awakening- 8/10 (The twist at the end is great, and on rewatch it's a neat look into Angel's head.)
Soulless- 7.5/10 (Angelus in a cage. That's...it.)
Calvary- 8/10 (Lilah makes things better. "I can't believe we didn't crush you people years ago.")
Salvage- 8.5/10 (Wesley and Faith's departure from prison is awesome.)
Release- 8.5/10 (Love the fight between Angelus and Faith.)
Orpheus- 7.5/10 (I never really liked this episode; I'm not sure why. I think it made Angelus way too comical, and not enough of the villain that he had been, especially with the puppy-saving scene and his reaction.)
Players- 8.5/10 (Gunn! Getting a story and generally being awesome.)
Inside Out- 9.5/10 (Darla comes back. To talk to Connor. That alone would make it awesome, but when Connor's descent into darkness is explored, along with an explanation of the series and Angel's realization that he has to kill Cordelia, this episode is damn-near perfect.)
Shiny Happy People- 7.5/10 (I like it okay, but it's not as good as TMB.)
The Magic Bullet- 10/10 (Funny, poignant, kickass....this episode has it all. Amazing.)
Sacrifice- 8/10 (I like the desolation and despair that everyone feels, as well as Fred's speech.)
Peace Out- 9/10 (I like the way Wesley leads the MoG without Angel, Angel's speech to Jasmine, and Connor's monologue in the church.)
Home- 7.5/10 (I'm really conflicted about this rating, because while Home has The Best Connor/Angel Scene Ever as well as Lilah(!) and a great Wesley/Lilah scene, it also seems to forget that the MoG have morals and beliefs. Also, it leads to Season Five in W&H, which I don't like.)

I just posted my Top 20 of Angel. I can't decide if my favorite season is Season 4 or 5. On one hand, the central arc of Season 4 is pure gold, it's my favorite moment of the show and Season 5 has one of the worst first episodes and a not very good middle seaon. On the other hand, the last five episodes of Season 4 are awful, it's the worst Season ending of all the Buffyverse and Season 5 contains my three favorite episodes of the show. I'll need a third rewatch to decide I guess.
