Brian, that cover looks *amazing*. Especially Gunn, in human face, still looking really, really evil. It's like ConduitGunn from "A Hole in the World"/"Shells".
I don't know if you hear this a lot or not, but I always, always wished they'd used Gwen again on TV, and seeing her back has been one of my favorite things about "After the Fall", and seeing two covers now in which she looks like a complete badass is just so cool.
This cover is the first one since the Jo Chen TPB cover for "The Long Way Home" that makes me want to go get it signed by the artist and the actors. Does Betta George do signings at conventions at all?sigpic

Oh thats excellent! I love the very realistic rendering of dear old Betta George, and *g* I notice they've used the same promo photo that I did for my mock cover. It's one of the few that fit in with this take on Wes.
I love the portrait of Gunn too. Very dynamic.

See, I really love how Gwen has been drawn on this cover. I agree with KingofCretins: I wish she had been used more on the show and am very glad she's in the comics. And this cover does her character a lot of justice - it looks just like Ms. Davalos and it pretty much sums the character up into one drawing. I'm very impressed.
Though I'm also very confused: How does this "First Night" thing work? Is it like...a story-arc within "After the Fall," much like Buffy Season 8 has story arcs within it (IE: "The Long Way Home" and "No Future For You")? Or is it something else?wittyCOMEBACK: updated 10/2/10!

It's not the same image at all, but Gwen on that cover reminds me of one of my favorite shots of her. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a screencap. But in "Long Day's Journey" when the Beast kills her client in front of her and sends her flying, she comes up tearing off her glove and this charge of electricity runs over her hand. That is one of my favorite moments of her.sigpic

Great cover. Stand-outs: Wesley looks more like Alexis Denisof than any other rendition of him I've seen in comic form so far, and Betta George is cooler than ever. Who's the artist?
By the way, Brian: I was away on vacation when you posted that "Hi all!" thread, so... a very big, very belated welcome to our forum.

And the cover is awesome, Gunn looks brilliant in it. I'm dying to find out how everything came to be.

Count me in the Gwen fan club. I really like her, so I was delighted that she's included in "After the Fall". Nina too. If the Faith series or any other spin-off had gone ahead, I'd have serious started a movement to get them on there in some capacity. Especially Gwen, cause seriously, Gwen and Faith together would be sheer, 100% proof awesomeness.
The cover is brilliant. Fantastic likenesses.

Well - this makes me #4 for the Gwen Club!!
It has been great to have Gwen in ATF. She really didn't get the exposure she should have had in the series. Always thought she and Angel would have been GREAT together! That little "electric kiss" she gave him - WOW!

Who is the artist for the cover?? This doesn't look like and Uru cover... More like a Tony Harris cover...-TP<3

Whoah, that is an intriguing picture. Now I'm going to have to buy the series so I can find out what's happenning. I really liked that electro-chick and what's with the cool siamese fighting fish?"And remember, we keep our supraesophageal ganglion to ourselves. That means you Jimmy!"

And, thank thank thank you Brian Lynch for posting that link here! The art is absolutely amazing.
Before Buffy's season 8 came out, I'd never bought a comic before. I just never had a reason to. I figured that one day I'd finish all the Buffy novels and I'd have to move on to the non-canon comics but I'm glad that I was able to start fresh with a continuation of the series.
I have just been blown away by the story-telling and the art in both series. I'm so impressed and kinda kicking myself for never picking up a comic before now.
Thanks for this and the wonderful work you (and the others) have been doing. I speak for myself but I'm sure other fans will agree, we waited a long time for this but it was well worth the wait.

I hope it isn't Sid!
Spoiler:They're some very nice preview pics, the drawings are great. Looks like we might see the moment where Wes is told he has to work for Wolfram and Hart. And I'd love to know what all the Connor stuff is about, I'm guessing it'll be a link with the first time Angel saw Connor and fell in love with him- and going to Wolfram and Hart to give Connor the life he deserved.

I have no idea who the white'd person is. I hope it's not a puppet, Sid was fun .. for one episode, the same for puppet Angel. (But 'Stupid plastic piece of crap!' is still a great line.)
The fact that it's a spoiler would indicate that we already know the person. I'm just curious if he/she is really little, or just little on the cover. It's the first night, who will be there the first night.

Read that First Night is a story arc about the the infamous - Night In The Ally from Not Fade Away.
We finally get to know what REALLY happened in the alley that night - as in - we finally get to know who turned Gunn.-TP<3
