No Extra Disc. Sorry But As far as the specific contents of this package go, you have all of the 110 original episodes with all of the extra features included in the original DVD sets. In addition, there is a companion booklet and a special letter to fans from Joss Whedon.sigpic

Oh, so there's really no reason for anybody who has them all to sell them and buy this?
I think it's an awesome choice for anybody who does not have Angel, sigpic

I was looking at this on Things from Another World (or Planet?) today. It was only like $110.00 there, but I'm cheap so, I'll probably just buy them separate and save like $10.00 since the slim sets are like $20.00 each, depending where you get them.Especially since it'd be like paying $10.00 for a letter.

It's a good deal I would think though if you don't own any of Angel--like the Chosen set (which I lovingly refer to as "the Buffybox") was for me....
How are the discs arranged inside? In little "booklet" style things?

I don't have any Angel stuff.. so this is a great Xmas present..
:yay!:
to be honest.. I've never seen a bit of season 3.. 1
1. Is it any good?
2. What is the general consensus?
3. Known as the "dark" season.. Why is it dark?Last edited by Nostalgia; 04-12-07, 12:11 AM.sigpic

1. Hell yes! It's a bit more one-shot driven than later seasons, but the characters are great and it has some amazing stuff later in the season (5x5, Sanctuary, Blind Date, and TSILA.)
2. Angel really starts coming into his own in this season, great work by DB and co, and probably has my favorite Angel moment of all time in it.
3. Maybe the best season overall, so much happens at such an incredible pace that it is hard to keep up, but it is awesome. The last half of this season and the first several eps of S4 are probably Angel's best run.

I appreciate your take.. but you still didn't answer me. I wanted to know the general consensus.. as in the general opinion on the season (most people think...)
I also wanted to know how is it dark.. what gives the season the "dark" title as with season 6 has that title..
As for your best episodes comment.. I can't imagine any episode run being better than the last 7 episode stretch in season 5.sigpic

3. Known as the "dark" season.. Why is it dark? The general consensus is though that it's a very strong season (not many "stinkers", and even the worst epp isn't that bad and pretty decent), even if not full of as many striking epps as some others. The baby!Connor storyline with Darla and Daddy!Angel is great, Fred is introduced (so if you don't like her you might not like it), and the Wesley betrayal storyline is great. Some highlights are Lullaby, Birthday (in MY opinion, and yours too if you like AUs), Waiting in the Wings, Sleep Tight, Forgiving, Benediction, and Tomorrow.
It also is the most Cangel-y season, though they don't technically ever get together of course, so if you hate Cangel you might not like this season as much. And I don't think it's called the "dark" season, that would be more season 4 by far--though it does get kind of Dark after Wes's betrayal, which kind of sends Angel over the edge a bit and starts Wes down the dark and lonely path of "Dark!Wes," lol....
Def. worth a shot though, it is a very good, solid season, and really you should see all of Angel anyway. I heard some negative things about season 4, and so wasn't sure if I should buy it, and then ended up loving it. Everyone has a different opinion, so you can't trust the general consensus anyway--lots of people love season 3 Buffy for example, and I hate it!
I'd like you to see it anyway so you can honestly say you think AHITW is the best of the series, when right now I don't think you can say that having not seen it all!
I kind of wish I didn't have all of Angel already so I could get the Angelbox (which looks very pretty--saw a full pic of the inside and such in USA today, it's just like the Chosen collection in format), though I like my boxes too--I carry seasons 1-4 in a CD case anyway, nice and compact....

I would love it if they come out with a single master boxset for Buffy *and* Angel together -- 254 episodes.
Can they do that though with two different shows, esp. when they split networks at a certain point? Or does it not matter since it's the same distributor for both?

I assume since the producing studio -- FOX -- is the same for both, that they can be packaged and released together. I think they'd have to package the discs like four to a case or something just to get it to a manageable size. Ooh, since it would be probably $250 or $300 anyway, they might package it in a replica of the VAMPYR booksigpic

I don't think you could get a packaging deal together for the comic, because I'm pretty sure that's all Dark Horse other than certain reserved rights, like Buffy's likeness (Sarah has the rights to it).
Yes, Sherrilina, shortly into Season 8, Joss apparently took it's nearly universal critical success and fan popularity as an affirmation of the project and announced Season 9 would followsigpic

Although it's offtopic..
Sherrillina.. are you ready to give up now? If this is the case, you might as well not read the rest.. because you don't seem to have any desire to.. even by the first arc. Do you really hate stills that much? Even if the show is continuing.. the medium is that bothersome? It can't be the quality that's the major problem.. and if it is.. how can you complain about it continuing? Were you ready give up when Buffy vs Dracula came on?
You're right.. you can't package it all together.. I was just 1+ing you.sigpic
