  • James McAvoy

Okay, so I saw Wanted today, and I think I may have completely fallen in love with James McAvoy. For a few years he's been on my radar, ever since I saw Inside I'm Dancing, but his fame seems to have tripled ever since Atonement (which I still haven't seen!)

Has anyone else noticed him recently? I've seen him in:
    Inside I'm Dancing
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
    Starter for 10
    Wanted

Anyone got any opinions on him in any of these films? Also, are there any others with him in that you would recommend?

General admissions of love towards him are also allowed

James MacAvoy. As Buffy says in her coolness test for Cordy... he has to call me. I first saw him in Shameless and, while I didn't follow up the show, I thought he was excellent in it. A real breath of fresh air and just so very hot in the strangest way. Sort of wimpy looking and yet not. I'm off to see Wanted tonight, yay!

Yes! This is exactly it. Oh man after you've seen him in Wanted you will definitely wonder why you ever thought he was wimpy looking hope you enjoy the film!

Is he buffed up for it then? And oh god I feel so shallow right now.

Do check out Shameless. I'm not a fan of the show overall, but his part in it...yes! And his real life wife. Anne Marie thingie. She good.

Not so much buffed up, but oh man. I am *literally* melting just thinking about it. Being shallow is allowed! It's more in his face, a 'less wimpy' thing.

I'm still in denial about his wife. And kicking myself that I moved back to Brighton from Stroud Green, where he lives now! I could've got there first, oh yeahhhh (or at least that's what I tell myself).

I really think he could be this generation's Brad Pitt/Johnny Depp.

I love him as an actor, I love his accent.

The last movie I saw with him in it, was Penelope. That one was so cute and colorful ... if you want to be happy, watch that movie. He has great chemistry with Christina Ricci and I can watch that movie time after time.

He was also in Wimbledon, he has a funny role ... but the movie a real romantic comedy and he is not one of the leads. So if you don't like the genre, don't torture yourself, there is not much James in it.

And of course, the first time I saw him in anything ... was Narnia. Who couldn't love him in that movie ... with the big scarve.

He's amazing in The Last King of Scotland. Truly amazing. And he does an excellent job in Atonement too.

I've got the DVD of his BBC production of Macbeth... haven't watched it yet. He's probably one of my favourite actors.

Sadly I REALLY hated Wanted. I wanted to like it... but it just got everything wrong, except the opening ten minutes or so. It has put me off James McAvoy even. For the moment.
