Just wondering... It seems to work so well and LOVE the multi-quotes functions, the increased size in avatars, etc.

Is this one ONLY temporary or could it be used as a the new BW forum sometime in the future?

I've actually noticed that even when BW is up there frequently seems to be just as much activity here.
Also the new "Chestnut" style is pretty.

There's not *as* much activity here during Buffy uptime, but I've noticed people do still make a point of cross-posting fic, challenge entries, checking active games, and answering PMs.

Yes, when will be get a confirmation if we should get used to this place or not get too attached? I'm kind of reluctant to seriously post on both forums because it could just end up lost on Buffyworld or ignored here when Buffyworld comes back fully. The constant switching between each forum is bound to turn some people off of both places.

I am way more interesting in Buffyworld to be honest. Mostly because I don't really feel like moving 65 episodes of Raven and various other important things onto a new place and basically restart here.

Buffyworld has been fixed before. There have been times between the down time when it had a nice few months of behaving well. It will come back one day for sure.

If we stay here or not is a decision of the members and not of the admins. If people go back to BW whenever it is up for a couple of days, this place will inevitably die down for that time, if they decide to stay here, this board will be active. There will be no offcial 'We move to this place' statement, either the members use it as a permanent place or not, that's the option Nikki offers them.

We have no insight into the question if Mark is going to fix BW permanently or not. Period. BW had its troubles in the past but was always fixed within a reasonable amount of time. This time it obviously isn't. The database problems are occuring for several months now and lately BW is just as much down as it is up, allowing for no continuity in discussions or time sensitive challenges and games.

In the end it's the decision of every member if he/she wants to move or not.

I have to say, I do prefer the original Buffyworld I miss it sometimes. I am glad that there is a place where we can go when Buffyworld is down, but it's NOT BW. I just hope BW will get fixed soon.

It is really starting to get at me, because I also miss running the reality game on BW, and I really DONT want to start it here, because it would get confusing and some of the members aren't members here and so on. I hope BW gets fixed, and fast!

I agree with Alex and Hannah 100%! I love Buffyworld, the way it looks, functions, and all the members there. It's nice to have a temp forum but I like Buffyworld 100x better. It's Buffyworld. Also, everyone would have to start fresh here. On Buffyworld, I have about 600 posts. Here, I have about 10. But all the fanfic and fanart and games we just lost. I would hate to see them all go. It would be especially hard for writers seeing as series like Raven have more than 50 episodes and 3 spinoffs and more than 60 threads to transfer. I really hope Buffyworld is up and running for good soon.

Don't get me wrong, I'd choose Buffyworld in a minute, but it's eventually going to get to the point when you have to ask yourself, "Is it really worth my time to post my fan fic or fanart or even post at BuffyWorld?" By the time you post anything, the forums mess up before anyone can see it. This is been happening for a good part of 2007. The forums are up for a few days and then there down for a few days. Last week, there were some places you couldn't even post in. Buffyworld is starting to be not worth the trouble anymore, escpecialy if Mark isn't willing to tell us, the loyal members, what's actually going on, when it'll be fix, how long it'll take. I can't recall him telling us, the normal, average Joe members, what's up.

I've already moved Chosen (all 21 episodes, which is nothing compared to 65 Raven epsiodes, but still) to a different location because BW keeps crashing. After that exciting experience? I'm not in the mood to transfer the 21 over here, too. It's too much work.

I LOVE Buffyworld. I really do. The style sets, the fanart community, the fanfic community, the discussions (that I occasionally do take part in), and, most especially, the VIP forum. Now, we have all those forums up here. But it's up to us rebuild the communities to what they were.

IN ANY CASE! I'm not up to rebuilding and reposting everything that made BW work here. It's way too much. WAY too much. But BW is becoming useless nowadays. As mentioned MULTIPLE times, it's up for a couple days, crashes for even more, comes up but doesn't allow us to read most threads or forums...

So what exactly DO we do? Go through the strenuous effort of rebuilding or continue to rely on a forum that has so much good with it but an unreliable owner and a bipolar personality?

*Shrugs* I dunno what I'll do. It hurts my head just to think of it...Or maybe it's the tequila from last night but my point still stands. Each of us have an individual decision to make and, in my honest opinion, we need to make that decision soon.

I don't really know what to say here, it's quite complicated.

I do love Buffyworld and I've been on it for so long, I can't remember when I joined but I'm probably a member for +3 years now. I love the 'home' feeling I have when I come on the board, checking new arts & thread. But the thing is, the forum has been dead for almost 3 months now...

If I had the choice I would go for BW but right now, we don't even have this choice. I want to be able to continue posting art, chatting with friends and posting about my favorites shows. I choose this forum til BWF is officially back, if it ever happens...

Today's the first time that I logged in here before checking in at BW- I did it without thinking, had a little look at who was online (there's a bunch of us) and thought, 'oh, guess BW's down, for sure!'.

My feeling is that this is enough like home for me, that I feel happy here, but at the same time- I was on BW for a long time. I was never the kind of member that was going to be VIP overnight, but I got there eventually. I'm sorry to come here and look at my lame count of 10 or so posts. Also, rep points... again, I was never big in fanart or even fic, but I had a few which I liked...

But, if this is it, this is it... you know? Better to be here than some place that isn't anymore... Maybe it imploded like Sunnydale... that damn Spike, saving the world and all...

I'm sick of BW. And I am an original member. I registered there before 2002 when we started it all over from scratch. Remember when I was one the big chicks on campus? Super Mod? Excessive poster? Anyone? Starting over sucked, for sure, but we also had a really great time starting fresh and reorganizing. I'm tired of it constantly crashing and I am not optimistic at all about there being a resolution to the issue. Slowly, this forum has been gainging ground and it may be a matter of time before many of us abandon BW for good.

I do think it is a personal decision for everyone to make but there comes time when it just becomes ridiculous. We have some else that actually works now. And that's fine by me. I am cool with leaving my 2800+ posts and rep points behind. I left BW for a couple years and came back to really enjoy it again. Bt not like this. Not like this. BFNet can be my new place for fanart fun if need be. That's cool with me.

You can stay logged into BW all the time. There's an option in your User CP I believe to do so. I'm not exactly sure where it is since I logged in permanently over 2 years ago. LOL, I'll be glad to try and find what you need to do when BW opens back.

This place does have a bunch of fancy new stuff, but OMG I miss my PM box of 100 and I miss the maximum size of avatars to be over 100 and at least 100 for anything uploaded to the forum. Aaaack look at the wee little icon of 80 pixels.

And I miss my old secretive style though the one Nikki has made is very pretty but too flashy for my workplace.

I also think the link button in advanced options works wonky as well as several other things. Nitpicky but since this thread was started because of the cool "multi-quote" function, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. I'd bet that if BW was functioning correctly, Nikki could install that and other neat things as a hack or upgrade to the forum.

Personally, I would rather be at BW any day of the week. I love going through all the old threads, there are so many great topics and ideas from so many members past. BF works great as a temporary home to keep me from going nuts and missing all my friends. However, BW is such a great archive on so many shows in the past 5 years. It was truly alive and more than just a message board.

I agree with Heather, in that BW had more discussion and was of course bigger (Classics forum anyone?), but it's really unreliable and if we're going to keep the community going while BW is down we have to spark some more discussion on here. I'm not too comfortable starting threads as a newbie but it's up to us to make this as good as BW was. Plus, we still have the main BW site for transcripts and references. If the BW forum comes back one more time for less than a week and there's still threads we can't read, I for one will be moving over here after it goes down again. Since Mark is not maintaining any meaningful dialogue with us we're going to have to take matters into our own hands.

Like everyone here I miss BW. It seems so petty but since everyone else has said it as well I will too, I miss my post counts, I miss my rep points, I miss my PM's. I had been a member on BW since July 2005 and had found my place there, now to start all again it kind of sucks. Lots of members have moved to here but lots haven't and it seems like such a small and undeveloped forum, I really just wish Mark could get the other one running properly. Nikki's explained that she can't transfer rep points and post counts over which sucks but is very understandable. I'm not sure wether we should just give up and make this new place our home or not.
