This may sound like a stupid question but are we aloud to swear on this board? I notice it doesn't censor so I'm assuming it's passive. That is, unless it is verbally abusing another member of course.

But if I were to say, for example, "In Bad Eggs, Joyce was fed up with Buffy's shit", would I get penalized for that?

To be honest, I don't know the definitive answer. It isn't addressed in the rules or faq threads. But generally, I try not to use swear words unless I am in the vip or mod forums. Occasionally I may let one slip elsewhere. I'll let Nikki state her stance for herself, but I personally don't mind swearing as I tend to do quite often myself. But I would also hate to see post after post of explicit language. In moderation I don't see a problem though.

I was actually curious about this myself but for some reason I kept forgetting to ask.

Missed the swearing...there was some beeped out stuff for Dawn..but were there actual non starred bad words? Naughty joss!

Yeah, I always feel it's OCC when I read swearing in fanfic. Unless it's in terms of their stream of consciousness, cause I'm sure Buffy might have sworn inside her own head even if she didn't say it. There was the cut off swearing where vampire willow gets killed in Doppelgangland...she says "oh f..." So in theory, there's swearing...we just don't hear it.

Nope, all starred bad words Willow does it in "Anywhere But Here" which I actually found kind of jarring

And when she goes "what the fu-" in 'Life Serial' before it cuts. But yeah I agree, cause we haven't heard the characters swear it is hard to imagine them swearing. It is the only thing I've found jarring about the season 8 comics.
