So the show has finally returned from hiatus, and with a bang! What an episode! I thoroughly enjoyed it, the Damon/Elena action was wonderful (and sexy!) IMO, and I definitely think I prefer D/E to S/E, it seems more interesting to me...
Damon was just delightful throughout the episode, with his usual snark but also some real concern for Elena and softer feelings, just ever so slightly bleeding through his facade (which I love that Elena was able to call, that she could see it was somewhat an act!). I would love for those two to go on road trips more often.... I am excited to see more interaction between them....Gina Torres was also great as usual, she sure gets around! I was sorry she had to die, though, and so brutally--is there something about witches that you have to rip their heart out? Because surely snapping her neck could have done the trick less gorily...And DAMN did we get a lot of new revelations! I mean everything from Stefan having known Bonnie's grandmother when she was younger to him having saved Elena (and seen her there for the first time during the accident)--I totally did not see that one coming!--to her being adopted! (Also a total shock for me, given the significance of the Gilbert watch and all that I thought for sure she was in that family...). VD is one of the few shows that genuinely shocks me with unexpected twists and turns, and I'm glad to see it still has its touch! ![]() So yeah, can't wait for next week! What did you all think?

Almost every episode leaves me with a huge smile on my face and super satisfied and this was another one!
I loved Damon/Elena interaction and I loved Gina Torres guest-starring. I love Stefan and Elena together, but I am glad they gave it a breather, so we could enjoy Damon and Elena together. Damon is not entirely evil and he knows it! Also liked the subplot of Bonnie and now I cannot wait for what´s to come! |

I just watched the episode and count me in, I'm totally loving this show. It's gone far beyond the "guilty pleasure" I thought it was going to be at first.
Totally agree with Sherrilina, yes Damon and Elena should go to the road trips more often and yes they are made of pure win, both separately and together. That's something I should say. Loved the way she said smugly "I saved your life" in the car and the "I know" - "Don't you forget it" exchage. Wonderful. That's the kind of Elena I like. Also, the funny thing is that Elena and Stefan don't bother me at all. Their story is so much more watchable than say, a certain bangel melodrama. Also the whole thing about Lexi's boyfriend was great. Also, I bet it was a bit of the foreshadowing because should Elena stay with Stefan (or, more hopefully with Damon, or why not with both of them ) that's a problem she's going to face at some point. This "people aging, vamps staying the same" was quite an important theme in this episode: Lexi's boyfriend, Gina Torres's character dating Damon 20 years back, Stefan actually knowing Bonnie's grandmother from the past. And the ending scene was very intense. Wish I had the time to watch Unpleasantville right away...
