    Well I do think that we should watch 'Epiphany' as the episode where Angel starts to recover from his depression. So I guess it makes sense that he is less broody and self-loathing after that. And of course there can be a significant change in personality when somebody suffers from depression. But Angel was an introvert guy who surrounded himself with art and books and who did think a lot about stuff. He did his own research as well. And there is even a scene where he enjoys sitting in the dark while his friends go and do something more social. That Angel disappears almost completely after the Darla-arc.

    Thanks for explaining. I agree. I think you're correct that Epiphany is the end of Introvert!Angel or a depressed Angel who turns his pain inward.
