EDIT: Woops, just re-read your post. I take it you've read her work and found it a bit wordy? eta: your turn of phrase made me laugh out loud

As a reference point, I didn't enjoy anaross that much in Long Day's Journey, so if it's similar to that I might not enjoy this. I'll just have to hunt for other Wuffy fics in that case...
No - she's not like DactylGirl - more Samuel Beckett!

We discussed this is April (warning - she split the fandom!)

"Adieu, A Dew, I Do by Lizerrrbeathan

Summary: AU/ Seven years post ‘Chosen’ Willem is sequestered hidden deep in Newcastle upon the Tyne, UK. As is bound to happen--given the magnet of hot souls and mutual minds--he is found.

The story`s word count is about 45k and you can find it here:

    http://web.archive.org/web/200508260...fics/Adieu.htm."

I couldn't get flow's link to work but the one below does. It's...different. Stick with it - the first couple of pages put some people off but I enjoyed it.

Thanks TriBel! I think I'm going to enjoy Adieu, A Dew, I Do - I've started it and it's different (& quite distancing) but in a way that seems deliberate - as if the author's pulling a David Foster Wallace on me - I'm curious to see where it goes.

And many thanks flow for recommending this Spuffy fic earlier! :
Ketchup and the Crocodile by yellowb. http://dark-solace.org/elysian/views...5578&chapter=1
I recently finished it and enjoyed it! (It's not perfect but it's an interesting take on S6 post-Bargaining set in NY..)

Also, Lydia's Thesis inspired me to look for more Lydia themed fics on Spike's history and I came across this one:
    (In)Discretion by thatotherperv, NC17: https://thatotherperv.livejournal.com/145214.html

I would recommend it. (But DON'T read it if you can't stomach Spike having sex with another woman.)

I thought I would hate it because Spike sleeps with Lydia. But it's strangely touching & poignant and actually very pro Spuffy/Buffy-Spike throughout. The voices are convincing and it's an intimate portrait of Spike and his love for Buffy. Lydia attempts to get some source material for her study of William the Bloody and visits him in his crypt, and Spike is happy to oblige.

That is beautiful! Thanks for the recommendation. There is another fic that starts out very similar but goes down a different road then. It is written from Lydia`s POV and not as touching but I think ist catches Spike`s voice throughout different seasons extremely well.

Do feel you can post your thoughts on Adieu, A Dew, I Do in the thread where everyone commented/disagreed SpuffyGlitz. It's always interesting to hear further thoughts on the fics, even if the group has moved on.

It's a classic, one of my favourite Lizerrrbeathan stories.

OK, I'm really getting into Lizerrrbeathan's Adieu A Dew I Do! Sorry I'm not posting on the other thread yet -- I just don't want to accidentally read any spoilers about this.

But I'm loving this opening so far!

It's pretty comprehensible after a few paras and VERY romantic - IF it is what I'm thinking it is. (It's reminding me of Beauty and the Beast in the best way possible) - but one thing confuses me. This man who seems like Spike - 'Willem' - he's clearly Spike gone human but he has brown eyes??

Oh well - I'll keep reading - don't tell me if it's a spoiler! Thanks a lot for the recommendation again, flow, TriBel!!

I think this is one of the main reasons why I love Lizerrrbeathan, she is so romantic. She writes Spike/Buffy with the most poetic/romantic language. Plus of course her original style and great story telling ability. Wish she were still in the fandom, I'd like to read more of her stuff.

See above - there's a link to LizerrrB's Spike by Snowlight (a follow-up to Snow Virgins). I've also just started to read Spike and Buffy, Lost in Cyber Space

    Does Buffy die?

Dunno...I started it but then went on a search for the one before. Then got distracted by others on the web page (I hadn't realised how many pages there were). Then ended up at an S/M one I shouldn't have opened on my work computer.

It's really good, you should to back to it. It's not my favourite of hers that I've read (I adored Book of Wiliam) But I cannot read it if
    Spoiler:
Buffy dies. I love Spike but I love him best when he's with Buffy
I noticed there is a sequel to Snow Virgins, so maybe it's okay

I am sorry, I missed your question. I don`t know, if you have already read Snow Virgins by now, but just in case you haven`t, it`s safe to go on.

The sequel (Spike in Snowlight) is okay but not as good as Snow Virgins.

Just when I was down to about 50 fics on my to-read-list....sigh...

Lirazel has written one of my absolute favorites (Ars Poetica) and I don`t know, how I could have missed that one.
