Fair enough. You could invest in one of those spider catchers. They might work with a mouse. They are pretty small.

And yes, congratulations to Sosa Lola. Nice one!
You know what I am. You've always known. You come to me all the same.

Just got back from seeing The Giants in Liverpool. The place is heaving and the giants are stupendous - so moving (LOL! emotionally and mechanically). Thanks so much Royal de Luxe!

Went to FACT for something to eat and my eldest found list of public lectures including this:

Ahh...Pricey - they're stunning! It's strange - they make you totally aware of your own humanity. It's as though the marionettes are operating the handlers, rather than the other way round. When the dog licks you his tongue is wet - and he pees! The male giant - he's adorable. He has the most soulful eyes (he's Gallic - he would have). Two of the handlers swung up on his shoulder and stroked his hair - I swear to God I could hear him purr - and his chest moves. I'm in love!

The lecture's next Thursday (I think) - I've got his book (I bought it because it includes his personal correspondence with Espenson) but I haven't read it yet. It's dense in terms of production details which isn't really my thing although I've just noticed there's some very in depth formal analysis (he makes a comparison between Pangs and Lars von Trier/ Ken Loach's work!). I might go along if I can get away from work.

That sounds like an amazing experience. So much work must have gone into them. How did you know he was Gallic, was he wearing a beret and a string of onions? i thought he looked like Luke Skywalker

I hope you go to the lecture, then report back your findings. I don't know enough about Lars von Trier/Ken Loach to comment, but it sounds like he loves Buffy and that's always a good thing and I hope he gets a lot support.

He speaks french! In fact, they all speak french (owing to the production company being french). My kids accused me of Anglo-centrism for bemoaning the fact I couldn't understand it and refused to translate (I suspect they couldn't). Yeah...we said he looked like LSW. This is him in 2012 (I didn't see this one - I saw the 2014 production). He's a diver - reunited with his niece (?). 2.30 (or thereabouts) - he does head-tilts!

    Why didn't I know about this? https://barbie.mattel.com/en-us/about/role-models.html

I think it's so cool! I want the Frida Kahlo one but it's Out of Stock. Hey Pricey - they've done one to celebrate Jodie's Doctor. She's also out of stock. I'm gonna try to find one as a Christmas present for my lads - just what every 30+ male needs.

    ETA

I should say my new found interest in feminism above and beyond Feminist Theory is a direct result of being royally p*ssed off with S12. The down side is - it's made me feel violent (I want to punch the writers) and is encouraging me to spend and consume. Sigh...one step forward...two steps backward.

I think it's her (below) - and TBH, as long as it's her choice (in as much as anything is our own "choice"), I don't much mind.

I don`t think, any woman has a choice in this as long as there is one single woman left in this world who does not have a choice in this.

I'll be honest, I don't know whether I should post this because I don't know how it ends - I got something in my eye a few paragraphs in.

That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Just going for a little cry now

I just wish we lived in a world were we don't have to make a special effort to make the birth of a girl as important and beautiful and meaningful as the birth of a boy

Hologram of Amy Winehouse set for 2019 worldwide tour. Singer will follow Roy Orbison and Whitney Houston in ‘performing’ posthumously via technology and stagecraft.

Am I the only one who finds this a bit "odd"?

You are no alone. It is odd. Do people pay to see a hologram? It seems just a money making scheme
