Totally recovered; I followed 100% the doctor's recommendation: not use the arm to lift any weight etc, so it healed perfectly (after the surgery). I had never broken anything, I was a very behaved child with no love for adventure or sports...

I learned a lesson: you always have to be afraid of doing dangerous things, because once you lose the fear, you became too confident and stop taking the necessary precautions.

I put it off for weeks because I was nervous about doing it, but it was pretty easy to change the light switch once I got brave enough to do it. As long as you put the coloured wires to the same place on the new switch as they are on the old one, it's easy. Oh and remember to switch the electric off before you start
The wires... these are the ones I think I may have problem with. But I'll give a try!

I wanted to upload a picture from my iPhone but it didn’t work. I think the translation is candy cone.

Do you have those in the UK?

That is a thing of evil! How many kids are in therapy as a result of a parent buying that? Tell me it was for your eldest and not your youngest!

That looks amazing, did you buy it like that or did you make it yourself? (If you did I'm REALLY impressed!)

That is Lloyd the green Ninja. He is not evil! His father is. But Lloyd gets himself some nice friends (one of them an android) and also a wise old Mentor who trains Lloyd to use his powers and then Lloyd fights his father but he does not kill him. Instead he redeems his father who sacrifices himself to save his son - wait, why does this sound so familiar all of a sudden?

Or were you talking about the evilness of candy and the possibility of dental therapy?

Would you be impressed too if I tell you I bought it? I mean, it was really hard work to find exactly that thing on the internet and then I had to hide it so my little one wouldn`t see it before today. And I put all the candy inside (which I bought as well).

    Sorry, double post.

flow, the amount of work you put into finding, hiding and filling it sounds pretty impressive too!

Since we're talking about German things here, in my region we call "sausage" (for hot dogs) "vina", because in old times German immigrants introduced the word "Wienerwurst" and we were, apparently, too lazy to pronounce the whole word, so what stuck was "wiene" ("vina", which doesn't mean Viena, by the way). If we go to Rio or S„o Paulo and ask for 1kg of vina, they have absolutely no idea that what we is sausage...

It's Lego! I didn't realise it was Lego! Bloody hell - I'm getting old. I remember when Lego was just six different sizes of red, white and blue bricks and some window frames. If you were really lucky you had roof tiles. What's the world coming to when Lego needs a back story!? BritishLEGO7.jpg

That was then. This is now:

Personally I like that the delivery cost is practically nothing compared to the actual pruchase price

Can you live on it? My parents paid a third of that for their first house!

My dad still laments all his old Star Wars stuff that grandma made him give away when he was a teen. Guess some of them were worth quite a bit, nowadays.

The bridge collapse in Genoa. It's just terrible. My heart goes out to everyone caught up in the catastrophe.

Yeah, that's just sad. Didn't they just have some krazy explosion on a road in Italy recently?

Aretha's still on my mind so I'm just leaving this here:

    Plus - the Obamas' statement:

"America has no royalty. But we do have a chance to earn something more enduring. Born in Memphis and raised in Detroit, Aretha Franklin grew up performing gospel songs in her father’s congregation. For more than six decades since, every time she sang, we were all graced with a glimpse of the divine. Through her compositions and unmatched musicianship, Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade — our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. She helped us feel more connected to each other, more hopeful, more human. And sometimes she helped us just forget about everything else and dance. Aretha may have passed on to a better place, but the gift of her music remains to inspire us all. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace. Michelle and I send our prayers and warmest sympathies to her family and all those moved by her song."
