I accumulated a couple of wallpapers and tumblr-styled picspams that prove that Marvel Cinematic Universe ate my brain.

A Ghost Story
(Made for HisMRS's challenge.)

This is based on the new Captain America movie, The Winter Soldier.

Steve's best friend Bucky hadn't died in 1943, instead he got captured by evil scientists of HYDRA who tortured and brainwashed him into the perfect assassin, erasing all his memories. Steve is shaken when he finds out Bucky's alive. He tries desperately to reach his friend, to awaken his memory, while Bucky's set on following HYDRAs order to kill Steve.

Bucky is called (or referenced as) a "ghost" several times in the movie - he's someone long dead, a memory from Steve's past, a person who's lost his sense of self, a perfect untraceable killer. I tried to play with the metaphor, with Steve making contact with Bucky like a ghost over the Ouija board.

I made the board with HYDRA's and SHIELD's emblems and quotes from the movie. The metal hand is Bucky's cool weaponized prosthetic Hydra's given him and the knive and three bullets correspond with Steve's wounds he got from fighting Bucky.

This is a Loki piece I made, there's not a lot of concept that went into it, I was inspired by these lyrics:

... and pretty much ended up here I wanted to show a bit rarer image of him embracing his heritage and the part of his person that comes from Frost Giants

It's not really a movie... but I believe HP goes in here usually? Anyway it's the same wallpaper as the one I posted in the Mara vs. Nina thread. But without the crazy colors because I prefer it without those colors and her hair looks more like Lily's hair in this one. It's Lily Potter (Harry's mum) btw.

I wanted to try one for one of my all time favorite films - Akira Kurosawa "Throne of Blood" - his vision of Macbeth. I had the great good fortune to see this great film when I was a teen and found it absolutely stunning. Akira Kurosawa has for years been one of my favorite film creators. His other adaptation of King Lear "RAN" is another of his great films.

I almost never work on images in this larger size - had no idea about the resolution to use - The first size I worked on seemed SO LARGE that I wussed out and used this smaller size. What is a good res to use for these wall paper sizes?
