I enjoy film music, and through that I mainly collect James Horner scores.

I don't know whether or not my tastes changed from last time, but right now I am desperately trying to find anything and everything about the band Heart and the singer Melissa Etheridge. Though I prefer the Heart

To me, Ann Wilson is one of the few rock goddesses out there, alongside of course her sister Nancy. She has always had the most amazing voice and to this day, she still performs and rocks out just as she did. I think it's terrible what the media did to her, but one of the reasons she's my favorite is because she didn't let that break her spirit, in her personal life or in her career. Heart always has and will have great music and I hope they keep making it because those sisters are an amazing team. I don't really care for the fact that some of their songs have been used as jingles for commercials, but hey that's life

And like Nick, I too enjoy film music There's just something about it that can totally make (or break) a motion picture.

Wide, wide range for me...tons of classical, which I won't bother listing, because the list is truly vast. But in particular, probably Tchaikovsky. (his ballets! Gah!) Or Chopin.

That is followed..or perhaps preceded by my movie and TV soundtracks, which I listen to incessantly. Lord of the Rings is my favorite. But I also love the Lost soundtrack, Gladiator, Dances With Wolves, Out of Africa, Star Trek, Braveheart, Legends of the Fall, The Piano, The Pianist and it goes on and on.

As for actual bands/singers: Nirvana, Rammstein, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Radiohead, Muse, Metallica, Simon and Garfunkel, Sarah McLachlan, Ian Tyson, George Strait, The Beatles, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, some Roy Orbison, some KD Lang, Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black, Patsy Cline, some Pearl Jam, some Coldplay, The Beach Boys and TONS of random songs by various artists that I found through movie or TV soundtracks. Alright. I also like stuff that I can sing along to because I was forced to listen to it when I was younger: Abba and The Sound of Music soundtrack.

I also listen to classic opera (Puccini!) as well as choir music, like the Kings College Cambridge choir.

    I know. Odd.

You made points that I entirely agree with. Long Live the Wilson Sisters!! Heart is the greatest. I think Nancy is the greatest female guitarist (and amongst some of the best guitarists in general) of all time and Ann is the greatest female vocalist! I love Heart more than words could ever describe. Other than Buffy, they are my favorite thing about life. I own every record they ever recorded and have zillions of collectibles and all odds and ends.
A diehard Heartmonger forever right here. Great to see another Heart lover here!

You keep waiting for the dust to settle and then you realize it; the dust is your life going on. If happy comes along - that weird unbearable delight that's actual happy - I think you have to grab it while you can. You take what you can get, 'cause it's here, and then...gone.

I'm into a lot of indie/alternative rock, as well as folk music and some classic rock too. I do like a bit of pop but in general I'm not much of a fan of the mainstream music and I seem to be in the minority here, as people such as Avril Lavine or Evanescence drive me up the wall!

    My favourites are;

    Cloud Control
    The Killers
    Tame Impala
    Angus and Julia Stone
    Arcade Fire
    Band of Horses
    Bon Iver
    Bright Eyes
    OkGO
    Nada Surf
    Fleet Foxes
    The Panics
    Syd Matters
    Vampire Weekend
    Mumford and Sons
    Florence and the Machine
    R.E.M
    The Beatles
    Panda Bear
    The Wombats
    Coldplay
    ACDC

I'm sort of stuck in a 90s/00s skate punk time warp so I don't really listen to much "new" stuff... My favourite bands in no particular order include - MxPx, Less Than Jake, No Fun At All, Bad Religion, Saves The Day, the Get Up Kids, the Ataris (old Ataris only), Death Cab For Cutie, The Postal Service, Millencolin, Rufio, Midtown, One Dollar Short, Bodyjar, Goldfinger, Slick Shoes, Hellogoodbye, AFI... I have many many many favourite bands hehe

Great list Nix! I saw Manson just last month and will be seeing Bon Jovi inacouple weeks!

Although I'm hearting you right now for mentioning Goo Goo Dolls! So many songs touch me so deeply and get played into infinitum without losing their appeal. Super Star Car Wash is my fave album. I love its melody but still a lot of rawness.

    Lydia made the punch!
