I am a professional musician by trade so music is very important to me. Over the years as a young budding musician I virtually consumed vast quantities of music every day. Going to the store and buying recordings of Bach, Zappa, Marley and Mongo Santamaria in one purchase were every day events. Provided I had the funds.

Musicians who have influenced me include: Chopin, The Beatles, Carlinhos Brown, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Alice in chains, Woody Herman, James Brown, Tower of power and so many more. This list does not reflect my most influential, although Miles is at the top. Just people I thought of now. The list would be out of place on a forum. It is too large.

Oh don't worry, there is no word limit on these posts! Feel free to share all you want!

I used to love going to the used cd store to see what random finds I could collect into a purchase. It is so much fun to go up to the counter with a heavy metal album, an 80s new wave album, and some orchestral selection.

    Lydia made the punch!

Ach, I am a rock gal really, P!nk, Greenday, GnR, Metallica, Nickelback etc etc. But I like lots of different types of music/artists so loads of others for odd songs or whole albums, just varies so much... Iron & Wine, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Madness, Take That, Rizzlekicks, Alabama Shakes, McFly, Dolly Parton, Beatles etc etc etc. Though rock has my heart, particularly with a good scoop guitar, a good song/piece of music can come from any genre for me. The only thing I can think of I don't like is really heavy death metal type music when it gets all guttural and "urghgrrralrrgllllaaarrr" sounding.
