It's a battle to the death! Complete with swords, daggers, and pretty art! Teh Heather and I have decided to battle and it will be out of control (naturally ;))!
We decided it would be neat to see how similarly or differently we interpret some major themes from some of our favorite fandoms, so we chose:
Veronica Mars/Mystery
Smallville/Destiny
Alias/Betrayal
Heroes/Power
Gilmore Girls/Family and Friends
The idea was that we'd both do a round arting a specifical (:p) theme and a specific fandom. And then we decided to shake things up a bit by doing mix and match theme/fandom combinations!
Rounds 1/2: VM/Family & Friends
Rounds 3/4: Smallville/Mystery
Rounds 5/6: Alias/Destiny
Rounds 7/8: Heroes/Betrayal
Rounds 9/10: GG/Power
Make sense? Aside from the theme and fandom requirement, we'll be giving each other another requirement that must be incorporated into the piece somehow :)
Did I leave anything out? That seems about right...Now for my first piece:
Round 1
Sorry my piece took awhile, Heather :o I've had a crazy past few weeks and was barely home long enough to do anything, like make a piece of fanart :s Now I'm finally at home, settled, getting everything together again... Anywiggle, excuses excuses! I've finished my first installment in this wild and crazy battle.
According to our handy-dandy list, this is my VM piece about Family & Friends! And I had to pick one of my favorite, favorite friendlike relationships throughout the whole series. But I couldn't get anything out of Dick and Logan, so I went for another favorite: Veronica and Meg  Yes, I absolutely adored their friendship and was crushed about the way they, um, crushed that. So, I got some pretty pics of Veronica (okay, Kristen) and Meg (...Alona) laughing and having a ball. Then, I went a bit darker with the coloring than I usually do, and picked some kind of upbeat but sad-ish lyrics to sort of foreshadow and represent the kind of dark turn their relationship took (you know, with Meg not liking Ronnie in 2.01 and then, Boom. Bus...you know the rest :() The way I described my piece sounds like a load of crap, but really! That was where I was trying to go with this piece :p

Okay, then! I'm bubbling with anticipation for your first piece. I spent a lot of time agonizing over my requirement for you. And I decided to go with something simple to start. Because we all love geometry, I want you to incorporate some fun shapes into your piece. You can interpret that requirement however you want...large scale, small scale...circles, squares, triangles, stars, hearts...dodecagons! You don't have to use the shape tool and solid colors and that whole shebang if you don't want. I mean, patterns, brushes and stocks all have pretty neat shapes in them too. :D
